Ephrael Stern is one of those older pieces of lore that stuck around on account of not being contradicted, she went through all sorts of daemon-related shenanigans until she was purged of possession and brought to the Black Library (note that the symbol on the doors of the video is the same symbol used by the real-life Black Library that publishes Warhammer fiction). There's also a little easter egg snuck into Cegorach's theme (called Prime Clown, it's on YT on Stringstorm's channel). If you don't hear it, check the comments on the video.
The Illiyan the Ultramarines refer to is one Illiyan Nastase, an old piece of lore that was in fact retconned because he used to be the Chief Librarian of the Ultramarines... and also a human/eldar hybrid, which is impossible in current lore. Him being held in the background in TTS is because he's one of the few pieces of lore that got hard retconned in this fashion.
The introduction of the Salamanders, Raven Guard and Iron Hands in one video is in reference to these chapters being good friends in lore, both because they work together very well (the mechanized firepower of the Iron Hands, the elite infantry of the Salamanders and the Raven Guard picking off soft targets), and because they got their teeth kicked in at the Drop Site Massacre. Ferrus Manus was an unrelenting taskmaster and perfectionist with an immenes disdain for weakness, both in others and especially in himself. He more or less saw himself as the anime rival to the Emperor, who after their initial fight which saw Ferrus brought into the fold had him swear to one day best the Emperor in combat. Not to become Emperor himself mind you, but because he had that rivalryboner that you see all too often in anime.
And speaking of anime, Ferrus also had an unlikely friendship with Fulgrim of all people. Where Fulgrim desired perfection in form Ferrus sought perfection in function, and both brought out the best in one another. They even forged each other weapons: Ferrus made Fulgrim a sword while Fulgrim made Ferrus a hammer, Dawnbreaker. Their bromance was woefully cut short when Fulgrim got himself a bad boyfriend (the Keeper of Secrets living in a magic sword he found), which eventually led to Fulgrim trying to recruit Ferrus for the Heresy, which Ferrus saw as Fulgrim calling him weak and chased him off. Their rematch saw Ferrus nearly kill Fulgrim, who in a panic drew his daemon sword and... well, Ferrus and Fulgrim's relationship was pretty much Guts and Griffith, except when their version of the Eclipse triggered (which was more metaphorically a hell rather than physically) it was Griffith who won. Fulgrim cut Ferrus' head off, which is to this day the source of an endless stream of head jokes, including jokes on how when Ferrus Manus got his model for 30k people immediately pointed out that the head was a seperate piece. Fulgrim fell into despair once he realized what he had done and begged the daemon in his sword to take the pain away... which it did by locking Fulgrim's soul away and taking over his body. Fulgrim eventually managed to free his soul, but it was tainted by Slaanesh, causing him to fall harder and deeper to Chaos than any of his brothers. Ferrus appearing as Ghost Ferrust in turn is a reference to Dragon Ball Z Abridged, which is one of the three greatest Abridged series ever made.
As for the next episodes, there's a few options. There are three podcast episodes between episodes 25 and 26, but they're all about an hour and a half long each. They contain quite interesting bits of lore, especially the one on The Last Church. Note that the one on the White Scars is Episode 0. There's no full animation like with the regular episodes, but the audio's still in their style. There's also the first episode of Bro Trip, which is a spinoff and about as long as this episode, done in a similar style. Make sure to watch the "Magnus is evil chaos man" video after that as well. Then there's a 20-ish special episdoe, a very short Slaaneshmas episode and then it's episode 26. Note that episode 26 is in two parts that are combined over an hour long, so keep that in mind.
