It's true that the Ultramarines are closer to being cobalt blue rather than ultramarine blue: the former is a softer shade of blue compared to the darker and more intense ultramarine. That's because the Ultramarines are not the Ultra-Marines but rather the Ultramar-Marines, with them being Marines from the realm of Ultramar.
The Black Templars do appear in Space Marine 1 in the ending, with the Inquisitor that puts Titus in a jar for his own sick reasons. They're also one of the few Chapters to have more than 1000 battle brothers at the same time: a Marines chapter is only allowed to have more than 1000 of them if they are on a crusade. Note that this number of 1000 does not include any command structure, specialists like Librarians, Chaplains, Apothecaries and Techmarines, as well as tank drivers so the actual number can be, depending on the Chapter, be anything from 10% to 25% higher. So the Black Templars decide to play the rules instead of the game by being on a crusade for the last 10000 years and never slowing down. This is not to be confused with the Space Wolves who openly flaunt the Codex and remain at legion strength, with each of their great companies being the size of individual chapters.
The Black Templars are also, as Dorn puts it, absolute madlads who shove their heavy weapons into the hands of their recruits so that the fully ordained brothers can run up to their enemies and hit them with their swords. Black Templars are also one of the few chapters to have their own Codex for several editions, and the only one to not be one of the original nine on the side of the Imperium. Other later foundings of the Imperial Fists include the Executioners (who use axes instead of swords and are really into cutting peoples' heads off), the more African inspired Celestial Lions (who made the poor decision to mouth off against the Inquisition and nearly got wiped out for their effort) and the Hammers of Dorn (who are such sticklers for the Codex Astartes that they make Leandros look like a dangerous iconoclast, and they also have the same paint scheme as the Black Legion).
The sons of Dorn also come with their own built in tournament arc, which has all chapters that decended from the Imperial Fists come together once a century to fight duels to gain honor, glory, and a trophy to watch over for a century in the form of the Dornsblade, Dorn's power sword that he used after his original chainsword broke. Fights are held in a shifting arena styled after the Iron Cage, where combatants wear scout armor and are given envenomed blades that slow a Marine down the more they are exposed to it. The current holders are the Excoriators, a bunch of masochists who decided to facetank the damage and outlast the competion, which worked.
