Balthasar Gelt (the surname being taken from the Germanic word for money, with links to... well, gold) is an absolute memelord who was never anything close to his current status in Total Warhammer. On the tabletop he is a very powerful wizard who can contribute a lot to a battle, but like all wizards his effectiveness is limited by the whims of the Winds of Magic (and whatever anti-magic shenanigans your opponent is up to). The vials of Al-kahest he can throw are, in Total Warhammer terms, able to ignore all forms of armor but have a very short range (because, you know, they're vials thrown by a dude). He also has access to a batch of Panacea Universalis, the universal medicine of Greek myth that the alchemists of real life sought after. They let him heal his wounds one per turn as long as he didn't throw acid at people, which in Total Warhammer terms would be tantamount to him healing a third of his total health, with a not too shabby cooldown and unlimited uses. Gelt can do that because he is him.
