Magnus' red giant form is a reference to the model he used to have in Epic 40k, an old game that used to be sold by GW where the models were a LOT smaller in order to accomondate the use of larger models, mostly Titans and the like. 40k is mostly at 28mm scale (models are about 28mm tall), but there has been a recent move to the larger 32mm scale. Epic was at a 6mm scale, which makes models a lot faster but much more fiddly to paint. The recent Legiones Imperiales game, which is more or less an updated version, continues this trend but set during 30k instead of 40k.
And Rogal Dorn... well, in canon he's the serious and unyielding one who will never stand down no matter the odds, and has a very German sense of humor. That's played up here to him being an extremely literal-minded person. He also has his Magic Pain Glove, which in canon is just the Pain Glove. It is a device that inflicts massive pain on its user but leaves no injury. Sometimes it is used as a tool for punishment, but sometimes it is closer to a meditative aid. This plays into the Imperial Fists' ability to take whaver you can throw at him and dish it out in turn.
Russ is back as well. He's gone missing for a while, and the Space Wolves believe that his return is the herald of the Wolftime, the return of the Primarchs and the final battle against Chaos.
As for the mysterious edgelord talking at the end... well, we know he's with the Salamanders. And if you look closely at the background you might be able to tell what you're looking at, which you might have seen before in the context of the Salamanders.
