That little clip at the end during the credits with the kyon haruhi date was all the y way back between episode 6 and 9, and the reason Haruhi cast them that way for the movie. Hence kyon saying "my bad" when she gave them the casting sheet. You said "is that how he convinced her it wasn't real" not really by making her say/acknowledge "This Story is a Work of fiction..." is the thing that seperete the real from the fake

THe reason kyon got freaked out but the name is because in old japan they use to make the instrument out of cats... Quite the cruel name
