2024-07-03 05:52:04 +0000 UTCWhen he says that the Eldar sculpts are old enough to drink, he's not lying. On the back cover of the 3rd edition Eldar Codex there is a squad of Fire Dragons. This book came out in 1999. We're about a year into 40k's 10th edition, and to this day the models of the Fire Dragons use the exact same sculpts as they did 25 years ago. And you can tell by the sculpts that they're old: the models are still in resin instead of plastic, the poses are not very dynamic, the proportions are a bit iffy, the details are more in line with what the Eldar used to look like, and they all come equipped with absolute dump truck rears. No really, go take a look at the 3D pictures of the models. They embody the aspect of Kaela Mensha Khaike, the dummy thicc god of war.
