I can see that. I agree that the author has good ideas, just hasn't found their footing.

honestly i think season 2 of railgun finds its place more season 1 is just lost exstra overall than a show on its own. on its own i would rate Season 1 a 5/10 index beforehand i would rate it 7/10 While i never become a fan of kuroko the charaters do grow as the author of the railgun series finds its footing

I caught on after Saten recited all the rumors in a very early episode; windmills spinning backwards was related to one of them, and it kind of stood out to me, considering several of the other rumors like the level-upper was very relevant.

Misaka and Saten are definitely the highlight of this season. They're both such great characters. The windmills are something I didn't even consider observing. That's a good catch even for a 2nd time watch. I understand the meaning behind it if it was a cinematography choice, but not sure if there's a practical reason behind it.

In the manga, it was specified that Misaka's range is limited to 50m because the arcade tokens that she normally shoots melt at the output she puts into them, at that range. So Telestina's statement that Misaka's range was limited to 50m was a vast oversimplification; well shown when her 'mech got busted by a large piece of debris shot at about that range. What really got me into this anime even in this season was the strong characterisation of Misaka and Saten, and the mysterious world they live in. Scientist stripper lady said that the board of directors of Academy City had full control, yet all of these experiments and shenanigans are allowed to continue on. And this time around, I noticed that all the windmills were spinning backwards - trailing edge first - and *against the wind*, the whole show long. You can see it clearly in the first OP, where there's a 3/4ths view of a windmill spinning with the blades bowing as if it was a driving propeller rather than a driven propeller.
