This episode is much better than the manga which just skipped over why Misaka found out she could finely manipulate electrical and electronic systems (an ability that would have been very useful in cour 1) with her ability to control electromagnetism. It's blindingly obvious, really, just it seems the author didn't actually begin to take it seriously until the second proper plot arc was started in the manga.
