Absolutely correct about there only being 1 “grown” / Alpha male in my house. Moved my daughter, her husband and my grandson in not long ago to help them out. They’ve been married for about 6 years now and I gotta give him credit. I’ve never once heard him call me by my first name since the day I met him. It’s been Mr Christian from day one.

Yes, Tony is a despicable person. Yet somehow, as filtered through this sad, sweet-spirited actor, Tony is someone I feel sad for when he hurts. That’s the magic of The Sopranos for me. They made me care what happens to a character whose actions ought to make me hate him.
To have him shot as he is here - not because of some mob plot, but because he’s doing something kind for an old man with dementia - is brilliant. Of all the ways and reasons Tony Soprano could / should have a bullet in his gut, making spaghetti for Uncle Junior wasn’t on the bingo card. Perfectly unpredictable.
