2025-08-25 02:25:10 +0000 UTCCoincidentally, I saw a YouTube discussion today with forensic body-language experts talking about the “tells” when someone is pretending to cry, and it made me think again about the authenticity of Edie Falco’s performance here. Faking hysterical tears, someone “pushes out” their sobs. Real hysterical sobs display the reverse: trying to pull air in, gasp for air, “because the inside is so compressed by grief that it’s difficult to breathe.” With fake sobs, there’s movement in the shoulders. With real, gasping sobs, the abdomen is bent and unbent, like spasms. Edie Falco manages all of that in the scene where Carmela first confronts Tony in this episode. It’s like her body won’t let her stop crying. That’s real. Whatever she drew on to play these scenes, it’s painful to watch. She seems not “mad,” but broken. Shattered.

So many questions raised in this one for next season. I do want to mention a "request/idea" for the Series Finale now , so there is plenty of time to see if it would work. I , (and others I am sure) would love it if there was a way to watch the Final Episode Live with you Sir. I don't know enough about setting up live streams etc , but I know it would be a blast!! As always , stellar reaction Sir! Can's wait for Weekend Movie Drops! (75 min) And damn this episode has some of the best acting and writing moments of em all. I am very excited to see how you react to this one Sir: ] This is full on Acting at the highest levels of the craft.
