2025-04-16 16:40:29 +0000 UTCThey intentionally cut the ending at the point where the top was wobbling enough to fall over but not quite getting there to put doubt in your mind, but my problem with thinking it's the happy ending of it being reality is, the kids appear to be the same age as in his last memory and I thought he had been on the run for at least a few years. Not sure that's confirmed anywhere but they look exactly the same as in his memory so I'm of the opinion he's still dreaming.

I haven't confirmed but an internet sleuth stated he was always wearing his wedding ring in the dream state and not wearing it in reality. At the very end, he is not wearing the ring. Also unconfirmed Michael Caine said Nolan told him it was reality. He claims Nolan told him that any scene he is in, is real.
