The Wire will get my vote unless Batman The Animated Series , or Mystery Science Theater 3000 are on the Poll. Otherwise , I am pretty sure he has seen anything else TV wise that is in my Top 5 of All Time. (The Twilight Zone , Fringe and OG Trek.) So 2% for The Wire for sure with both of us. : ]

You asked the question how could I possibly compare the two shows while proclaiming its historical validity as a principal reason for it's intrinsic value. I'm simply responding to your question.

Personally, I’d rather focus on talking positively about the shows I want to see, rather than tearing down a show I don’t enjoy.
We all have different tastes, and at the end of the day, we’re all here as supporters.
And I think it’s only logical to avoid spoiling a new viewer.
Not just in terms of plot, but also in shaping their expectations.
If you go into a show constantly thinking about its flaws or waiting for it to go downhill, it takes away from the experience. Sometimes, the best way to enjoy something is with a fresh and open mind.

And your point being? I was born and raised in Norway, and I know my history well. I also know that most of what we read about the Vikings was written centuries later, often by outsiders, so of course, there are gaps and inaccuracies.
That being said, I still don’t have a problem with the things you’re mentioning.
Sure, historical accuracy isn’t the show’s strongest point. Harald and his “best friend” Halfdan being an obvious example, when in reality, they were father and son.
Many characters in the show never actually lived in the same timeline. But honestly, I don’t see why that’s such a big issue. I still enjoy it and have watched it multiple times.
And it’s not just because I’m Norwegian. I have friends who love it, and friends who don’t, but I don’t know anyone who hates it or is upset by it.
At the end of the day, it’s a TV show meant to entertain, and for me, it does exactly that.

Very very loosely rooted in historical events since vikings didn't really write anything down. You can find more inaccuracies about the show than actual facts. And how can you not compare the shows when the lead actors from both SOA and Vikings look like identical twins, and the rest of the Vikings resemble a biker gang from the 20th century with hairstyles not period correct whatsoever. Weapons, armor, helmets, and general wardrobe costumes were also all over the place with some being centuries apart from common usage or invention. They show mountains in Denmark and most of Sweden, which is a joke because please find me a single mountain anywhere near where the story takes place. And I haven't even touched on the unnecessary drama and romantic plot lines that drag on and on and fill up time unnecessarily to drag this show out additional episodes.

I get being passionate about a show you want to see, but just because someone doesn’t comment or participate doesn’t mean they aren’t "real" supporters. I’ve been here for years, watching most uploads, but I never comment, until replying to two of your comments today. Everyone supports in their own way

I get that Vikings isn’t for everyone, but I think it stands out because it blends history with storytelling in a way that’s both engaging and visually stunning. Unlike Sons of Anarchy, which is pure fiction, Vikings is rooted in real historical events, characters, and Norse culture. It’s fascinating to see how the show portrays the Viking Age and its gradual decline. So I don't see the comparison.
That being said, if I were a reactor, I wouldn’t want to know too much beforehand, especially not opinions about how many "good" seasons there are. It’s like watching something, but in the back of your head, you’re already expecting a drop in quality, which can take away from the experience.
I’ve personally been waiting for him to start Vikings for two years now! I don’t comment at all, but I always try to participate in polls.

Just a FYI Sir. When The Sopranos Season 3 premiered , it was 2 hours.(Meaning Episodes 1 and 2) I was doin a bit or research an realized I had forgotten that. And it appears that was the only time during it's run. I dunno if that will matter or not. Just thought I would mention it. It's a cool factoid anyway: ]

Nawwwww bump that my well traveled brother. Congratulations on getting custody of Baby Girl Boyd. I started young. My baby girl hits 26 in may and my first grand baby, he’ll (DJ aka David Jr) turn 1 March 13th. Like my Pawpaw CB told me back in the 80’s 😂 when I was a kid. Soak it up before they cover you up. As in 🪦.
That’s why I’ve always been the unapologetic morning person. My eyes open and my feet hit the floor? As I’ve said for years and even have it tatted.
Any day this side of the dirt.

Brother I've been pushing for the wire for two straight years and it consistently loses to drivel voted for by phantom patrons who you'll never see again. Here I am just patiently waiting for The Wire... I'm sure it will get voted in for the next poll... yep... no doubt whatsoever.... unless of course one of the greatest shows in the history of television has to run against something like Grey's Anatomy or some shit, which it will obviously lose to given the history of prior results. If that sounds a little bitchy, it's 3AM and I can't sleep. (I obviously don't think this channel would do Grey's Anatomy, but I couldn't think of a better example, atm...) I will say, I'm really enjoying your Band of Brothers reactions so far, so looking forward to those.

Thanks for the heads up Sir!! Your so much better than most reactors I have followed in keeping us informed on line up's, and when there are problems. Thanks again. Peace (And you mentioned Aliens!!!YESSS! cant wait!) I would also like to recommend for a Weekend Movie - Baby Driver - 2017 - Bad-Ass action/thriller about a getaway driver for a bank robbery group. Action packed and real practical car stunts. And second - The Descent - 2005 - Horror/thriller - A group of caving/outdoor sports enthusiasts go to a cave and are trapped. I know you would enjoy the film ,(As would others here. It's a popular film.) but as it is so low lit , but looks great , I would enjoy your observations. And the director (Neil Marshall) did 2 of the best GOT episode's. : ]
