Superhero movies were still niche at this time; movie theatres still showed other genres so this period caters to the comic nerds. Later Marvel is like, "Fuck it, let's do Spiderman and Captain America fighting aliens in Outer Space!"

And that there's actually a cohesive character arc for Peter and his friends across the trilogy as they become older and move through different stages of life. Raimi was dealing with a lot of studio interference with the third one, but he still had a cohesive vision and long-term story he stuck to. Seems like that's too much to expect in some cases nowadays...

As for Mr. LBoyd watching some extended cuts/Directors Cuts , Etc , As far as I can tell he is using a streaming service to watch the movies. And depending on the service , they may not offer it. Hence , no extended Etc. He has watched some other films that are Director's Cuts , but seems to be with some of the major studio ones like Gladiator , Troy , and a couple others. Just a guess BTW. Ok, gonna watch the extended train fight now. Lol. : ]

It wasn't received the best but looking back at it we got some great comedy and memes out of it... So looking forward to your reaction to that from an entertainment perspective lol. Then we're off to the Andrew Garfield amazing spiderman movies which should be epic!! Loving the Spider-Man journey and I enjoyed this reaction, thoroughly.
