2025-02-01 03:45:00 +0000 UTCDexter is a fine show (that progressively gets worse, similar to SOA, actually). I really enjoyed the first couple of seasons. However, The Wire is one of the greatest TV shows ever made that (inexplicably) has now lost to first SOA (another good not great show) and now Dexter. The people have spoken and chosen Dexter, and that's fine (though still baffling), but let's not suffer under the delusion that it's anywhere near The Wire's level.

I just found this site researching full run times of shows. Sopranos is 77 hours, The wire is 60 and Dexters 80? so feels like we're gonna have to commit to longer shows either way. It's probably the best written and edited show you'll ever see. It's directed by Ben Stiller and it's something you NEED to get your teeth into

So many 4 second kissing scenes 4. Overuse of Beef and Broccoli 5. Its based in New Jersey I hated Band of Brothers because it doesn't have any of these things.

That is a lot of Dallas in Montana fans. The visuals themselves are worth the watch. It also does well on YouTube with reactors. To each his own as they say.

Of course, I can understand the disappointment of others who are not fans of the show. Personally, I couldn't get into most of the shows of the last few months either. Finally, something is coming along that I like. I'm very curious to hear your opinion on the visual progression. Vikings starts off visually unspectacular, but improves greatly from season to season: both in terms of content and appearance. I would like to ask every skeptical Patreon to give this show a chance. I've also never seen these shows so i don't mind watching it with you. Because of you I wouldn't have started the Sparanos now I'm hooked and waiting for more.

I'm not dropping the Patreon because you do so many other shows. But Dexter will probably be a no watch for me. Or I will watch until the Peak ends.

It’ll be done and over with then can move to shows like BoB and the wire which I also think are better shows but are much more serious. ST is not the best show in the world but it was huge when it came out for a reason lol it’s fun. The wire is 5 seasons long with like 13 eps each and we already have sopranos. It’s good throw in some fun sometimes.

Honestly, as a beginning-to-end series, The Wire is a cut above Dexter, imo. I'd watch any of these and be happy about it, honestly.
