Absolutely this. Especially once they got bezos budgets

J

Damn! 14ft. ceilings! that sounds AWESOME! But no, you are definitely right. that little unit stands NO chance in this weather. STAY WARM! i kinda agree on Sons of Anarchy. Just couldn't get into it for some reason... i appreciate the level of communication and transparency by the way. thanks for that.

Mister_Bleak

can confirm. I warned you all the way back when it won the poll. Niche show but the folks who like it are rabid and think we are nuts for not loving it.

TigerMyth

he won't survive the tension.

TigerMyth

That’s partly why I recommended some HBO miniseries. Would we rather have Boyd get locked into some 8 season show that takes half a year or more, or would we rather him spend 8 weeks on a miniseries and then move on. I hold out hope that he does deadwood though. It’s so good.

Matthew Truesdell

If you're interested in Dune and understanding the world a bit more, I'd suggest the Dune Prophecy mini-series. Only six episodes and it was very well made. Other than that, I still think Deadwood would be the perfect show for you.

Teth

And I have no idea where all the people who voted for it disappeared to lol. I feel like people just picked it because it was familiar rather than something good for the channel.

Teth

I'm still here rooting for Deadwood as well. Not only one of the best shows ever made, but it seems right up Boyd's alley. And it won't take years to get through. He could really do with some shorter shows on the side.

Teth

MrLBoyd likes space and scifi so he might like it too

trueyinyang

If you haven't watched the Expanse than it might be an amazing show for you. I had just always assumed you have seen it.

Scott Asher

please replace SOA with The Expanse

trueyinyang

If we are throwing out recommendations. Do The Mandalorian for YouTube, then burn through some hbo miniseries; Generation Kill, Band of Brothers, The Pacific. Then start the Wire at the end, or when you end Sopranos. Deadwood is another one to throw in the mix.

Matthew Truesdell

Wire Wednesdays and Double Barry Fridays. Make this happen.

Scott Asher

So, the obvious answer is The Wire... the show that somehow always comes up second in the polls. Youtube appeal, Patreon support, an amazing show that you should watch anyways, and it'd finally shut us all up!

Scott Asher

The Mandalorian is one of the good DEI Era Star Wars shows. I think he'd have a good time reacting to it.

Scott Asher

I’d watch either of those shows

Andrew

Deadwood would be a great take. Not too long. Great characters.

Andrew

Dexter is a great watch and maybe start the marvel shows (Now that marvel has canonized the Netflix series, these a ton to cover.

ros hamilton

Good for YouTube would be shows like Star Wars the mandalorian or Stranger things. I couldn’t make it through a season on soa. Try “The Wire”

Chelsea.fc

I'm glad you're done with SOA. It blows my mind that in the pole you had it ended up tied with The Sopranos. Keep up the great work and stay warm

Shpadoinkel

Ozark has a Breaking Bad-ish feel to it. The acting is phenomenal by all parties involved. I believe the show won numerous awards if I remember correctly.

Kendal H

Ozark and Mad Men. I believe those are two shows you’d enjoy. Especially after Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul. Could you put Ozark on a poll?

Kendal H

I had a feeling Boyd wouldn't mesh with SOA. If he 100% is comited to not finishing the show than he should do a patreon only exclusive 1 hour video that covers season 4 to the last one. The only reason why I suggest this is for all of the folks who voted for Sons to be watched weekly. I myself would like to see your outlook on the last bit of the show. If not, you will definitely love the wire. -Venom

SikxVenom

Season 2 has started. I think they have at least 2 episodes out. You never know with Deadwood. MrLB likes history.

TigerMyth

Mr Robot is good and weird and fun and unique. This would be a great reaction.

Scott Asher

When making suggestions, try to keep in mind what MrL will be into. No sense in making him watch a show he's not invested in.

Scott Asher

He'd really like Barry. And they're only 30 min episodes

Scott Asher

Deadwood is one of my favorite shows, not sure its quite MrL's thing. I like the idea of Severance. Not sure when Season 2 is coming out, but a binge of season 1 followed by weekly new episodes of season 2 would be banger.

Scott Asher

Snowfall is great. Its about the CIA supplying Crack to the ghettos in the 80s.

Scott Asher

That's fair

NBA FAN

I honestly don't know, I tried it, I think it's not for me because nothing about the story grabs me. It's not my cup of tea I think.

Lenear Boyd

Will you be coming back to SOA? I think the best part of that show is yet to come. Season 5 is the best season.

NBA FAN

Snowfall is a good one. I'd like you to try and watch one black show.

NBA FAN

Bro I said that last time lol now they're back and pushing Lost and Vikings

Slimsycentaur37

For the love of God no. Those are on the same level of SOA

Slimsycentaur37

I am from Massachusetts and was THEE hardware guy at a Home Depot for 10yrs. I use oscillating heaters in my bedroom. From the size of your studio. I would recommend 2 oscillating heaters in diagonally opposite corners, or one large one (24in or more) about 6ft or so away from you pointed in your direction. I personally don't like Radiant Heaters they take longer to heat and make the room very dry. My former house it would get as cold as -10 with 20mph winds outside and be 8 degrees and almost breezy in my room with plastic on my windows. I would have my Oscillating Heater set for 70 and fan mode on high. lol But most nights I would have it set for 65 and fan mode on low.

Jeffrey Losey

Babylon 5 Firefly

JC

Severance is the perfect show for him and this channel

Billy

Band of Brothers!!!!

Tyler St Clair

Triple episodes of Barry, Double episodes of Sopranos? (Barry eps are 30 minutes each)

Charles Clover

Mr robot is amazing

Nate

Dear Project Manager, please put Yellowstone on the poll....pretty please?

Angie

I live in the Hampton roads area of southeastern Virginia. Maryland's a nice state I have family in Annapolis.

Hunter Sanschargrin

I loved Lost, it is good but it really drags out the story line. I don't think it's the kind of show he'd like.

Keith Allen

I started watching Silo. Seems to be pretty good so far at least in my opinion. SoA I liked it my first time watching it but once was enough. It does get better. You're pretty much on the hump now.

Keith Allen

I should also throw out The Leftovers. There are almost zero full reacts on Youtube for that one. I mean like none. Jimmy Macram had it up but most of his links were nuked. So, that could be a keep it up problem but it is HBO and you have plenty of their content up.

TigerMyth

Severance is short and current. That would be a good one. I think 10 episodes and they are through 2 on the second season. Deadwood would be my main choice, but I don't think it will ever win a poll.

TigerMyth

I am with you 100% on SOA. I've tried 3 times. Some people really love it. I think it is trash.

TigerMyth

Barry is awesome and funny. I would say watch that.

Russell Silverman

Second this.

PIG

Suggesting The Wire. I think it’s your kind of show.

PIG

MrB on the topic of new shows, I know youve seen some comment on Mr Robot. Its very youtube friendly, its currently kind of trending as a react show on youtube with a couple of big channels recently starting it. It also surpasses better call saul in style and plot, I say that as a mega fan of all things Breaking Bad-iverse. The story itself is great and the characters are complex yet relatable with a few easy to hate types thrown in. Its very heavy on social commentary without being patronising or speaking down to the viewer. Its arguably one of the best shows made in really every metric. If you do chosoe to give it a try I imagine itll join Sopranos and Better Call Saul on your list of favourites.

Chris Robson

I'm In Washington and all week, except for today, I've woken up to temps in the low 20s. We also have the same kind of heating for our house as you have in your studio, and that thing was struggling. Alas, no snow though.

Denise Mattsen

Oh no! I'm always glad to share the joy with another fan, but I'm heartbroken that we're never gonna see your reaction to Walter's excitement about heated car seats or...William Bell's appearance (IYKYK). Edit: I would probably pay money to watch you react to all the gross experiments and "viscous fluids".

Jua

I've seen Fringe , I love it

Lenear Boyd

It's like a mini Mob Movie every week!: ]

Madmanmarz1981

I LOVE Fringe! Walter is one of my "Spirit Character's." ; ] Mr. LB actually mentioned Fringe in a LOTR reaction and has seen the show already and spoke fondly of it. So he's a fan as well.: ]

Madmanmarz1981

Nice Jeep

DamianPapi

I live in Southern Maryland and work in Virginia.

SnakeandNape

I beg anyone to suggest "Lost" or "Vikings" for the next big pole o vote on. Absolute cinema for everyone. Trust me guys. Love you all.

Joel Tratz

Sons of Anarchy is trash bro

antbox1992

Spartacus would be a great watch for you. i guarantee it. Violence' Epic fights, good story, and debauchery you can make fun of. its a perfect fit!

Hugobertram Wasenloge

Plus season 5 (final season) comes out this year so you could possibly catch the hype on that

Brandon Tracy-Hurst

If you need a YouTube show you should watch Stranger Things. I think it's one of the last "big ones" (ie. GOT, MCU, LOTR, HP, Breaking Bad etc.) you haven't done. The main characters are all children which I know isn't your favorite but it's an incredible series definitely made for adults and is the sort of cultural phenoma that everyone should see

Brandon Tracy-Hurst

Thanks for the update, but I am seriously envying your cold weather - in South Africa we are at the height of summer and it is a doozy. Since we don't really have proper "seasons" here, our infrastructure isn't really optimised for really cold/hot weather (think single pane glass, no central air, etc.). I am so glad can you are finishing up some shows - never understood the charm of Sopranos/Sons of Anarchy. Am hoping that there can be a bit of a genre mix with the next poll. As always, I am recommending The Expanse and Fringe for poll additions.

Jua

Double episodes of the sopranos would be bliss bro I tell you! And to sons of anarchy I liked the show when it came out but it’s too soap opera for me now so I say get the fuck outtaaa heeeer 🤣🤣 Oh and I know you’d love the wire, another top tier show

Ciaran Boag

Saw this comment before I saw video, woop woop!

Chris Robson

Mr Robot would make Mr Boyd spin with the style and cinematic style :D Its also one of the best plots in a TV in last 10-15 years!

Chris Robson

Woohoo to Dune Part 2 and Chernobyl. Thanks for the update.

Jeromy M

He may have to watch the 2 minute inside the episode tidbits that are the shown at the end of each succession episode to fully understand it. This is mainly because most of the reasons for character actions in succession is based on the viewer being able to understand human emotional and usually non literal cues as to a characters' thought process. Most of succession is close up quick facial reactions to different stimuli. And most important succession is a QUICK show, not in the length of the episodes but in dialogue and context clues. Which I don’t believe Mrlboyd will be able to pick up on. This hadn’t been a problem until I saw how in the first few minutes of "The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo" he failed to pick up on the context clues as to the being a journalist and having just lost a court case. Thankfully the movie then brought it up plainly and loudly to the viewer. Succession is not as forgiving.

Nathan Hale

First and foremost , Thanks for the Update Video! Things like that are a major reason why I love the channel! You personally keep us informed. I'm in Indianapolis (cold as fuck here as well), so more used to the cold , weird weather ,but I do dig your plight. (13 yrs in Chatt. TN in my youth) As to a new show , first , I hope we will get double Sopranos most of all. Second , My most hoped for shows would most likely not happen.(MST3K,Batman The Animated Series) So , I'm gonna be very laid back as to what should start new. I don't watch much TV anymore besides Lego Masters , Oak Island , and Ramsay shows anyway. lol Looking forward to Dune 2 , and Spider-Man 2 !!!! Stay as warm as ya can Man! Peace Edit : Unless you never watched Firefly and Serenity. Then by all means DO THEM. : ]

Madmanmarz1981

I don't really enjoy SOA that much either but a TV Show that I think you would appreciate is "MR. Robot", In my opinion it's one of the best TV shows and it feels like it would be perfect for MRLBOYD specifically to react to.

Vendetta for V

As someone from Indiana, and is accustomed to the cold, infrared heaters are meh. Ceramic, or if you are daring, propane. Infrared does well at heating stuff directly in front of it. A large space heater will heat the whole space. Or do what us midwesterners do and just add layers.

Matthew Truesdell

I don't know if you're comfortable with a sort of open flame solution, but I spend a lot of time in a southern Pennsylvania basement, and before I got heating down there my dad got me a big Propane Heater with an adjustable wick and stuff like that. They look really intimidating, but they work really well and they are a great electricity free lighting / heating source.

Sean O'Brien

Scratch that i think you would like 11/22/63 based on the Stephen King Novel. It about a teacher going back in time to prevent JFK assassination which he does but the end results our a classic Stephen King twist

Lonnie Vannatter

I suggest grabbing 1 maybe 2 small ceiling fans to circulate the heat Just like with the AC in the house, it’ll take some of the load of both your AC & Heater in the studio. Side note: You SERIOUSLY need to make sure you put Meet the Millers on your list. It’s damn HILARIOUS. Especially if you like shyt talking sarcastic humor. And I know you do. 😂😂😂

LumpyGrits

You got to My Cousin. Vinny

Lonnie Vannatter

Bro, all 7 people who liked Sons of Anarchy left the chat

Scott Asher

I vote The Last kingdom or lost to replace sons.

Alyssa Dyson

Succession is great or comedy route could be good it’s always sunny in Philadelphia is a great show curb your enthusiasm or community are also a good time

Boon Chesson

Man I feel your pain I'm on the east coast in Virginia and it's cold as hell (for us). Honestly, I've just been going back and watching some of your earlier content that I missed prior to being a member, but I'm definitely looking forward to the new poll.

Hunter Sanschargrin

Requesting the wire to be added to the poll. Not sure if it's Youtube friendly, but it's an amazing show.

Andrew

Succession will be a great replacement for SOA.

Bart

Appreciate the update. Life stuff happens. Sons of Anarchy 🤣 you lasted a lot longer than I did with that show. I really hope you react to Succession next

Liam

Hey bro, just build a fire in the studio. What could go wrong?
