I'm sure it's been said, either on this, or future episodes. These men that are bleeding, and falling apart immediately do not have radiation sickness, which is real bad... They have SEVERE radiation burns. And like fire, it instantly destroys tissue. The more severe the fire/radiation, the worse the burn. But fire does it does it from the outside in, radiation from the inside out. And radiation causes your cells to literally just fall apart. Same reason people in Hiroshima vaporized. It's horrible, I'd rather eat a bullet, than slowly melt over the course of days/hours

It's not even just the viewers, but finding actors who can speak all these different languages. Russia sure as hell wasn't going to make this show.

Some things are exaggerated for the show, but some accounts that they left out are just as horrific. This is one of those series everyone should see once, both for the historical event and how well the show is made. I don't know if I'd ever been as horrified by a scene as the shot of that man looking into the core at the end, and it just keeps getting worse with every episode.

2025-01-25 15:25:25 +0000 UTCI joke that the warm yellow filter is the Latin America filter (like for Mexico in Breaking Bad) and the cool green filter is the Eastern Europe filter (they use it in the show The Americans for USSR too). On the medical side, I think touching the graphite itself or even being only yards away from the core (as opposed to miles away) makes the effects of the poisoning increase on an exponential level. They will later show that people who were at the nuclear power plant but not touching stuff or right near the core get sick over a period of weeks rather than seconds (not really a spoiler don’t worry), but I would say maybe just the “seconds” part is exaggerated for effect and people touching graphite are affected over a few hours. I would have to check that but I know it’s still very acute. I think you’ll enjoy this show and it’s short. I don’t know where a poll or anything is for next shows, but I’d love to volunteer Severance. The filmmaking and way they use color is great, and the second season is coming out now so you wouldn’t need much time to catch up.

But in regards to the show, you can almost "feel" the ineptitude of some of the people. it's crazy how disillusioned the show made them out to be. (maybe they actually were this bad, which makes things that much worse, but i couldn't say.) good choice. seems very interesting.

Folks in the US will not watch subtitles, most of the time. Kudos to Mel Gibson for making a movie 100% subtitles and shocking he made any money with Apocalypto & Passion of Christ.

I can only imagine what a similar exposure to ionizing radiation can do. Given the fact that it's several orders of magnitude more powerful.

(You REALLY needed a couple hit's on a J Mr.LB. lol ) Glad to be a part of this show on here. As for accurate to the events etc. Yes , they made the radiation sickness etc happen quicker and much more bloody. And that caught it some flack when it came out. An some characters were combo's of various people. But , as I don't want to read to much in research until it's over , I stopped there. Although I did come across this one little blurb I thought you world enjoy Sir. The entire film was filmed through a blue filter, creating a "totalitarian" mood. Oh , and I do agree it would have been cooler in Russian w/Subs. Well , thanks for a cool unexpected bit of fun tonight! I await The Sopranos now.: ] Peace

And I do find the subject matter interesting as well. Nuclear power and exposure to, and even more so from the Trinity test's and on. If Mr. LBoyd , or any one else is interested , look for a documentary called Trinity And Beyond : The Atomic Bomb Movie - 1995 - Director - Peter Kuran - Narrated By BIG Bill Shattner .(It's still good ,I swear) Archive footage ,(remastered as hell!) of U.S. Atomic Bomb test's , and the history of the Atomic Bomb. And amazing music by The Moscow Symphony Orchestra. Oh , and Fun Fact - If you get the DVD version , it has a 3D (Red & Blue) tour of the Trinity Site and some A-Bomb 3D footage. : ] Checklist - Fatty roller - Check - Beer - Check - Smokes and Zippo - Check. (Willis so rarely get's to play the bad guy , and he does a great job IMO) If you ready for pleasure , you can get the book at most used book stores or online pretty easy. A cool read for the subject. : ]
