Yeah... This is why I have never gone to a Casino to play cards... I end up accidentally counting cards on occasion (no idea how to actually do it, the subconscious takes over) and that's just not a conversation or situation I want to get involved in, lol. When I catch myself doing it with friends, I can course correct and make it look like a fluke by just making outrageous bets for a while that pay-off once every 3 or 4 hands, but I don't think that strategy would work with the Big Bois in the business.

2024-11-22 02:58:19 +0000 UTCThe landscape shot that you like using the graduated ND filter is a great shot. I think you'd agree with me saying that it was pretty tastefully done. A lot of movies from this era have a horrible obvious transition.

2024-11-17 23:46:59 +0000 UTCYeah, I work as a supervisor in a casino and if I were the dealer I would have called the supervisor over and had them call surveillance to put the eye on them. Hitting a hard 18 is one flag (which is why the dealer called it out to the floor) and then saying "there's lots of them" in the way he did immediately after is another flag lol. Great movie! First time i've seen it :D. Which, after watching a bit more, is exactly what they do lol. Great :D.

2024-11-17 03:12:24 +0000 UTCDustin Hoffman is one of the great actors that never disappoints. You should watch Kramer vs Kramer, another great one with a subject close to you, is him fighting the custody of his little boy vs Meryl Strip

2024-11-15 18:10:27 +0000 UTCThis movie means more with commentary from a neurodivergent person, so thank you Mr B. I have wondered for a while if all or most of us are somewhere on “the spectrum.” I think we are all masking to an extent. As a child, I had obsessive rituals and compulsions; I learned that those would be considered weird, so I hid them. As an adult, I often feel as if I’m disconnected from things, an observer watching myself have relationships. Back to Rain Man. As a woman I absolutely agree that the kiss in the elevator was extremely inappropriate, and that if the sexes had been reversed the writers wouldn’t have added that scene. Teaching a child how to give an open-mouthed kiss is a bizarre thing for an adult to do, and Raymond is a child in every way that matters. FRUSTRATING plot issue: with even a fraction of that $3 million in 1980s money, Charlie could have made a home in LA that recreated what was most important about the institution from his brother’s perspective. A duplicate of his room there, his books on their shelves, a guardian to keep him safe, a circular driveway for Raymond’s little excursions in the car. They could have continued having the adventures together that were opening up the world to Raymond, while giving him the secure retreat he craved.

2024-11-15 18:07:51 +0000 UTCYou are way off. She isn't kissing him for her pleasure. That was all for Ray not her. You are misinterpreting the kiss. I absolutely agree that if a Karen walked in on a guy doing the exact same thing, the guy would be in for a world of hurt but you are wrong. She isn't taking advantage of him. She knows the chances of Ray ever kissing a woman are near null so she is giving him the experience.

2024-11-15 17:11:00 +0000 UTCMrLB - listen to this man. Edge of Tomorrow is without a doubt one of the top Sci-Fi movies of the last 20 years. Tremendous movie.

2024-11-15 16:03:53 +0000 UTCDustin Hoffman was one of the top actors of the 70s -90s. If you keep dipping your toes into older movies, you will encounter him more.

2024-11-15 16:02:30 +0000 UTCYou aren't supposed to like the main character. He has a growth arc. You are supposed dislike him at the start and see his growth as a person. He is a better person at the end.

2024-11-15 15:44:23 +0000 UTC😂 $4 NY strip. Seems crazy these days. But at the same time a 40 hour week at minimum wage back then wouldn’t even clear $100 a week.
