Its interesting you mention the sepia tone multiple times. This was the first movie to do digital color grading.its fun to see george clooney do more comedic roles. Another fun movie that hes in is also a Cohen brothers movie. Intolerable cruelty. I feel like I'm the only one that likes that one.

Christopher Mcconnell

I haven't watched this since I was in High School. Cool.

Brandon Tracy-Hurst

Last comment I swear !!! Last comment I swear lol!!! I love this movie I really enjoyed that the director took the time to add historic people that existed time period that were not mentioned in history books like George Nelson and Tommy Johnson...I really like the fact that they used Chris Thomas King a real blues singer who plays the guitar as well to play Tommy Johnson...I wish though we would have seen someone playing John Dillinger or Billy Sunday that would have been cool

Lonnie Vannatter

i remember hearing that to and read somewhere and this unconfirmed but I believe he shot at a reporter once over it but that might have just been a rumor going around at that time.

Lonnie Vannatter

i was 7 what did know than I certainly dont think that now

Lonnie Vannatter

I have seen chickens killed, it was necessary, but certainly not entertaining.

Susan B

the question about if anyone ever grew up around chickens lol

Lonnie Vannatter

Huh.

Susan B

Same directors as No Country for Old Men fyi

Slimsycentaur37

Always cracks me up πŸ˜‚

Jake Martin

Mr. L. Boyd, since you liked this movie so well, I think you should check out The Ballad of Buster Scruggs. It's an anthology by the Cohen Brothers and it's outstanding. You know, if and when you can.

Jake Martin

β€œOf course it’s Pete. Look at him.” 😬

Susan B

"I'm the damned Pater Familias!" πŸ˜† I still say this all the time. Also, I believe there was an episode of BCS that featured that same song; Big Rock Candy Mountains, by a different artist. Last edit: I had horse tajine in Morocco and it was excellent πŸ‘Œ

Jake Martin

Commenting before I start, I'm interested to see how long it take you to figure out this is a retelling of Homer's Odessey, I'm sure you are going to love it. 4:49 in "facepalm" lol forgot it was in the title card.

ros hamilton

Love Love Love! I am so glad you watched this! Refreshing change of pace!

Angie

What a glorious surprise! Love this movie. Heading to Vimeo now to see it with Mr. Boyd.

Susan B

Right now I remember, Nelson really hated that nicknameπŸ˜‚

The fellow the picked up crossroads I believe was based on real person... Robert Johnson stands at the crossroads of American music, much as it is rumored that he once stood at a Mississippi crossroads and sold his soul to the devil in exchange for his unique musical gifts. He was the first African American to be in the blues hall of fame

Lonnie Vannatter

when i was in the navy I ate monkey balls. I was at this pub in Mexico and the chef was asking everyone to taste a sample that he was experiment with... So I tried it and was like Thats good what is it and he was like its monkey balls i looked at him wide eyed and I said really thats not that bad.. And he said want some and I said no I'm good...it was good though just saying

I remember when I was young watching my grandmother catch chickens she would break their neck and we would have to pluck the feathers and get ready to cook...PITA would be pissed but I use to laugh when she broke their neck and they would flop around on the ground for 15 to 20 minutes. But their was a rooster that my brother and I hated because he would chase us around the yard we would have to run into the house my grandfather use to augh at us every time he would chase us

Lonnie Vannatter

3,7 and 9 are "magic" numbers in fairytales/myths

gak9319

"Tommy Johnson"? More like Robert Johnson, went to the crossroad and sold his soul to be the greatest blues musician. Or so the legend goes. He recorded some great songs, until someone poisoned his whisky.

gak9319

Can you please do a christopher nolan movie series reaction starting with the Prestige since you have already done Momento.

DIITIVE

Odd encounter. The store clerk trying to sell George Clooney FOP hair product was a car salesman irl and sold me my truck about 15 years ago

I'm Team Odyssey... fuck those Iliad poetry nerds!

Scott Asher

Someone should write a book about this movie.

Scott Asher

That’s like 6 things.πŸ₯Έ

Jeremy Vickers

In ancient Greece the number 3 was the divine number: birth, life and death and harmony, wisdom and understanding

Lenear Boyd

I've read the Odyssey a couple of times but I have no idea what you're referencing with the 3s. What is the correlation?

Slimsycentaur37

Wasn’t expecting this, one of my fav movies ☺️ can’t wait to go home and watch

Anabel Gonzalez

Intriguing choice. Great film sir.

Slimsycentaur37
