Doesn't sopranos drop godfather spoilers a few different times?

John

I wish you'd watch the Godfather movie, so we could talk about all the callbacks from The Sopranos to The Godfather. I mean - Pauly's car? I *died* laughing at that the first time I saw this episode.

Meg Geddes

She was amazing. All the feel-good roles she played before Livia Soprano feel like a different actress altogether.

Most memorable moment of this episode for me is when the madam, Debbie, tells Tony how much the dead cop looked up to him. There’s this fleeting look of shame in Tony’s eyes. He remembers all the times when the guy pleaded with him for a bit of civility. He understands that the bullying really hurt someone, unnecessarily, and it recalls the episode where he told his shrink about bullying a kid with cleft palate when they were boys. Tony is capable of introspection, but he can’t let himself go there. James Gandolfini did so much with little movements of his head, the lowering of his head, a movement of his eyes, you can FEEL his character struggling to avoid feelings of guilt. And OMG his expression when he’s asking Pussy, “Anything you want to tell me?” There’s murder in his eyes. What an actor.

A word (there will be more later) about Nancy Marchand. the actress who plays Livia, Tony's mother. Her previous "signature" TV role was playing Mrs. Pynchon, the wealthy, upper class newspaper owner on Lou Grant. For people who saw her in *that* role - or some of her other roles, her performance as Livia was a huge shock - and a revelation. I still remember reading magazine articles asking could that really be her? I don't know if she got an award for this, but she sure should have.

Annnd were done! I knew you were gonna like this one Sir. The pace of this one was fantastic IMO. And Livia! "Hell hath no fury" as they say. Oh , and just to ease your mind a bit , There is not , nor ever has been anything romantic between her and Junior. They have always gotten along. I don't consider that any form of spoiler btw. And here's where each week is gonna seem like a month between episodes. lol. I also wanted to mention I really liked your idea of a couch for TV reactions. I would make watching along feel more like just hangin out . And if you would be more comfortable , than an even better reason to at least try it a couple times. Just my 2 cent. Thanks again Sir!!! Peace

Hell yeah , it's Sopranos time!!!! Tonight's Episode : Nobody Knows Anything Been looking forward to this one. And I know I may say that to much sometimes , but there are a ton of episodes I look forward to for many reasons. Sometime's it's just a scene or 2 , or a few memorable lines , other time's it's a whole episode or a couple back to backs. I don't often say why they are specifically because I try not to post spoilers incase there are folks that are 1st time watchers . : ] (And also , lol , I can go on for 2 hours talking about a 1 hour show if I really dig it.) Dinner was crock pot simmered homemade Minestrone soup. The apt. smelled wonderful when I got home from work!! Checklist time - Fatty ready , Check - Wine , Check - smokes and Zippo , Check - Patron in freezer in case of gratuitous Jersey comments. Let's eat some prosciutto standin in front of the fridge! Peace
