Huh. Well I was not expecting that. In that case: it's not even close to over and that IP has loads to pull from, Hugh Jackman even came back and did Deadpool X Wolverine. You kinda remind me of when I finish a book series. It's fine, there's going to be more

They already have Quicksilver (dead) and Wanda/Scarlet Witch, only a matter of time when they need to freshen things up. Deadpool also already teaming up with Wolverine.... can't wait for anti venom, or Thor (girl-Thor), X-23, or any of the almost endless lineup of superheroes who haven't gotten in the official MCU

2024-10-18 00:33:49 +0000 UTCThat's why it makes 0 sense to watch in theaters now days when we have 4k streaming and affordable food at home unless it's imax and you've seen a couple of spoiler free reviews online from movie critics who like the kind of movies you like and they'll tell you exactly what is up. Imagine, buy the Blu-ray, stream, or skip. I never saw dark Phoenix. Probably ruined the Phoenix character for non comic watchers.

Some of the new men movies are the succ, but Logan, Deadpool, and the tie ins to the MCU (Wandavision, the mutants quicksilver and scarlet witch, I guess Hulk counts in the Avengers, Spiderman.) are good. What if, is dope. Disney plus is woththe sub every few years to catch up.

It's a movie but it's not an original character. None are. The movies are in large part MADE for fans, so a lot will be out of nowhere for non fans. After liking watching marvel movies for this long, as a person who values information and obviously has an above average IQ, I don't understand how you don't know everything about every character by now... does not compute with MY autistic mind.

What I don't like about this and next movie, is that it almost feels like last few GoT seasons checklist... which most important moments of the franchise have not yet been covered? Oh this one and this one. Nothing between that.

I wasn't interested enough to see it in the theater and then I stopped watching around the midpoint when I streamed it. So disappointed because I enjoyed Days a lot.

I'm not sure what happened because they had the same director and writers as X2 and Days of Future past which I'd argue are the best movies in the series. It just feels more like an MCU movie, which TBH might be what they were going for at this point. But X-men needs to be more grounded both in the characters and the social commentary. This franchise is NOT about supervillains -- that's kind of the point with Eric.

And , if nothing else , it was mucho gorier than I remember , and a Disaster Film's worth of a body count! And the best , you enjoyed the hell outa it Sir! Next week will be a big mutha'fuckah! 2024-10-15 07:47:24 +0000 UTCto answer your question Apocalypses and Dark Phoenix DID NOT do well. the timeline changed in Days of Future Past and the fanbase of these films were not happy with what they turned the story into. the only movies after these that were appreciated were Logan and the Deadpool films. However i will say that watching this film up until this point has been more enjoyable than i remember. however, there's still more than half the movie left so we'll see how much i like it when its over.

Some are huge fan favorites that had their own runs in the comics, and others that are background characters used over and over that we are familiar with.

Remember, MrIlboyd has spent and continues to spend a great amount of his time in Spain, he doesn't have the same degree of pop-culture osmosis working for him. Deadpool3 in particular would be wall-to-wall references he'd have no hope of getting.

He felt this was very boring so he travelled back to the beginning of civilization to set himself up as a god. It's during his rule Apocalypse was born. A human, but also the first mutant. He ended up as the head of the resistance against Kang. Eventually Apocalypse won, and got his hands on the technology Kang left behind. With it he became what you saw at he beginning. This is the short version. Though there are a couple of other versions of the story, not sure which one they where going for in this film🤔

The quality of filming, writing, and general production dropped off a sheer cliff for that one. I think you’d be best off to do Logan and the next two Deadpool movies. Save yourself from the disappointment of the death of a franchise.

It's all been re-imagined for these new re-tellings but the major beats are coming from the comics. If you think something's weird with the pacing or it's weird how some people seem to know each other better than they should given their actual screen-time it's because the movie is reaching back to comic-book storylines and trying to shove that into a movie format. Even the new/old guy, he wasn't introduced here. ALL the nerds who were into X-Men know En-Saba-Nur, Apocalypse.

Here's a quick overview: Icarus and his father, Daedalus, were imprisoned on an island by King Minos. Daedalus, a master craftsman, created wings for himself and Icarus out of wax and feathers so they could escape. Before they left, Daedalus warned Icarus not to fly too close to the sun or too low over the sea. Icarus was overcome with excitement and flew higher and higher, ignoring his father's warnings. The sun's heat melted the wax, and Icarus's feathers fell off one by one. He kept flapping his bare arms, but eventually he realized he had no feathers left and fell into the Aegean Sea and drowned.
