That was pre-law. He was fine with Jimmy as a mail room peon but Chuck simply could not stomach Jimmy in the same profession as him. It broke him. I also have to say I don't entirely believe the Chuck we have seen would write that letter. Especially the part about their mother. Chuck resented his mother asking about Jimmy on her death bed. He never told Jimmy. Yeah, I have a tough time believing the letter. Yes the writers of the show can write whatever they want, but I don't think that letter was true to Chuck's spirit.

I always thought that Kim was crying at the end because of how impersonal it was and how little effect it had on Jimmy. Shes crying about the lack of any emotion.

🤣🤣🤣 Agreed. The parameters of small talk are COMPLETELY lost on some folks.
Hell I’m one those type that’s never met a stranger. BUT. A simple Heyyyyyyy how’s it going is not the magic skeleton key to unlock everyone’s skeletons in their closet.
Heyyyyyyy how’s it going?
I’m great, you?
Also great.
Now proceed to keep it moving ✌🏼🤣🤣🤣

Update: I just now finished the video. I get it now, you split it up due to the hurricane, which makes sense. Hope you aren't suffering from it. And just to clarify, the reason I'd prefer you split the episodes up into two separate videos is because it runs better on my PC that way. The ideal scenario for me would be, everything goes back to normal for you. You continue releasing two episodes a week every Tuesday in two separate videos, uploaded within an hour of each other. You can do whatever you want, this is just me giving feedback

Now This is the part of the series where I think not watching Breaking Bad prior can be a detriment for first time viewers. It isn't really made clear to Better Call Saul viewers that Gale is interested in making Meth, and that's why Gus associates with him. Of course the literal you and I do, because we watched Breaking Bad first

Thanks for splitting these up. This works great. Not sure if you did that just because of my comment from last week. But either way

No you don't need a license to be a paralegal but Jimmy is not only suspended from being a lawyer but also in any job or position adjacent to practicing law, such as paralegal, med clerk, legal secretary, court stenographer, etc etc. Kim could not hire him in any capacity.

If you Google “why did Kim cry” there’s a Reddit post explaining the possible reasons and it could be a combination of them. There’s not a definitive answer and it’s open to interpretation.

I think Kim's reaction isn't so much to the letter itself, but moreso to Jimmy. I think she's been very concerned at how he's been acting since Howard came over (so cold and seemingly uncaring). In the scene he's reading a letter from his recently dead brother who she knows he cared greatly about (and tried so hard to get his approval) and he is reading it like it's the least interesting/important thing in the world (monotone, announcing end paragraph, speeding through it). I think she's worried he's so detached and just not allowing himself to actually grieve or feel anything at all about Chuck's death, and that's what led to her crying.

The guy who accepted Jimmy’s job is Ira, the owner of Vamonos Pest in Breaking Bad.
