BCS S3E8-9 FULL REACTION

BCS S3E8-9 FULL REACTION

I know this is the episode a lot of people point to as Jimmy being the lowest/slimiest he can be. Personally, I do see his point in at least his end goal. I do think the law firms are being a bit dishonest/greedy in pushing the elderly clients to wait it out instead of getting money they could use now. When he first meets with Irene here it's clear she doesn't actually fully understand everything, she's just taking the lawyers at their word. I do agree Jimmy's main motivation is getting the money himself, I'm just saying I do think his arguments have some merit. When it comes to his actual plan, I think it is pretty messed up but in his mind he's just convincing Irene to do what's best for them all and they can make up after. I don't think he realizes the extent the other women will go to to shun Irene (especially continuing into the next episode) but that largely goes back to what Chuck says about Jimmy in that he thinks he can just do what he wants and then apologize later and everything will be ok. Anyways, I know this is a long comment, I just find this stretch of episodes interesting to think about :) .

Yeah, I think that's the main reason they include that earlier seen when she naps in the car. In that instance she's intentionally setting an alarm for 5 minutes and it cuts abruptly to it going off, so we know the cut is her falling asleep. That sets us up for this to figure out that again she fell asleep. I've also seen people comment that it felt very realistic to their own experiences of falling asleep at the wheel and crashing (I haven't done that myself so I can't personally attest to it) and waking up to the destruction/etc.

-Vicariously, I live while the whole world dies -Much better you than I Remember the beginning scene. You know, these movies and shows are generally made for neurotypical people. Again, psychology makes all that a moot point. Remember what happened in that beginning scene, and remember all these scenes, you can guess the end. I think you hit the nail on the head though. It's entirely about greys... which makes the black and white scenes ironic lol. Wait for it, EVERYONE is grey. I think the point is that WE the audience are grey ourselves. What motivations and beliefs cause a person to see themselves as the hero regardless what others may think? From our own perspective, we're the lead and the hero, everyone else is a support cast member, villain, love interest, or belonging. I think Jimmy even verbalizes his philosophy at some point. Either way, here: Eye on the TV, 'cause tragedy thrills me Whatever flavor it happens to be like "Killed by the husband" "Drowned by the ocean" "Shot by his own son" "She used the poison in his tea" "Then kissed him goodbye" That's my kind of story It's no fun 'til someone dies Don't look at me like I am a monster Frown out your one face, but with the other Stare like a junkie into the TV Stare like a zombie while the mother holds her child Watches him die Hands to the sky crying, "Why, oh why?" 'Cause I need to watch things die From a distance Vicariously, I live while the whole world dies You all need it too, don't lie Why can't we just admit it? Why can't we just admit it? We won't give pause until the blood is flowin' Neither the brave nor bold Nor brightest of stories told We won't give pause until the blood is flowin' I need to watch things die From a good safe distance Vicariously, I live while the whole world dies You all feel the same, so Why can't we just admit it? Blood like rain come down Drum on grave and ground Part vampire, part warrior Carnivore and voyeur Stare at the transmittal Sing to the death rattle La-la, la-la, la, la, la-lie La-la, la-la, la, la, la-lie La-la, la-la, la, la, la-lie La-la, la-la, la, la, la-lie Credulous at best, your desire to believe in Angels in the hearts of men Pull your head on out your hippy haze and give a listen Shouldn't have to say it all again The universe is hostile, so impersonal Devour to survive, so it is, so it's always been We all feed on tragedy It's like blood to a vampire Vicariously, I live while the whole world dies Much better you than I

translation: Jimmy isn't "heartless" at all. He's loyal and full of heart, for those he's made up his mid to care about. Anyone else is one of "them" and with "them" as life has shown him thus far it's weak vs strong, big fish eat little fish, want vs has, ect. It doesn't matter whether it's friends or family, look at his brother and his attitude, he also is willing to swallow whatever he needs to to get his way or what he wants, he just "doesn't sink as low" (though if you ask me selling out your own bro, and trying to ruin him it's pretty low). Jimmy does obviously feel bad about what he's doing, never mind any hesitation at the bingo, after the deed is done, in much the same way as Chuck drops his act, Jimmy needs to go get a lil tipsy with someone and feel good about "being the hero who saved his girl and business from "them". Thus he rushes to get the thing that's plaguing him out of his mind with what will confirm what he wants to believe. She dozed off. Nobody teleported, it's what happens when you don't sleep enough.

This is one part of the story I don't entirely buy. I am not sure where the $8,000,000 number comes from and if the number is valid, then HHM should have the means to buy Chuck out. Maybe not all in cash now, but they just came up with a big number and said the firm had no way to come up with the money. They had to know at some point Chuck would retire and they would eventually have to buy him out. That whole plot felt a bit contrived to me. You have to remember at most Chuck has 50% of the company but it might even be 33% if each partner owned 1/3. That would value the company between $16 - $24 mil. At minimum they should be able to borrow money against the corporate assets. If there are no assets or no equity in their building then Chuck would not be owed $8,000,000. Hey, I love the show more than Breaking Bad but I just feel this part of the plot was bit weak.

TigerMyth

If Jimmy can justify something, he is going to do it. In his mind they had a good settlement offer so it isn't hurting anyone to take a little bit less now instead of waiting years. In truth for people that age, the money now probably is better for them. Not saying that to defend Jimmy because what he did was straight up terrible. Any of those ladies can fall over dead tomorrow. All waiting does is benefit their estate. Chuck is Chuck. Just another reason to hate him even more. Destroy HHM. Howard is more than right to push him out and the insurance issue is impossible to overcome.

TigerMyth

What do you think about Howard at this point? The first 2 and a half seasons I didn't care for him, but I started warming up to him here. I would go into later seasons, but spoilers is a crime punishable by death in the state of New Jersey

antbox1992

God I can't wait for next week. Two of my favorite episodes comming

antbox1992

"You are one of the worst people on this planet Saul" Yup there it is

antbox1992

I just started watching his reaction to episode 9 and Mr. Lboyd is already saying "Jimmy is diabolical!" Oh God, he's going to LOATH Jimmy by the end of this one 😂

antbox1992

When Jimmy/Saul helps out the drug dealer at community service. When the dealer is free to leave he says "That was some jedi mind shit!" I'm surprised you didn't get excited, like you usually do when you actually catch a pop culture reference haha

antbox1992

I think the audio sounds A-okay, Mr. L. Boyd.

Jake Martin

For sure. Kindness and generosity are admirable qualities. Being a bleeding-heart, gullible rube is not.

😂😂😂 Talking about women’s purses. Mannnnnnnnn I know what they carry in them. Very simple. Everything to sustain their day to day life. 😂 But I’m a 50 year old man that has never once reached into any female’s purse. Even when asked to grab something for my wife. I will just deliver it to her because that’s always been a No Trespassing zone to me. But I my wife’s favorite purse is the one I bought for her to conceal her FDE S&W Shield plus with the 15 round Equalizer magazine.

LumpyGrits

True enough with what Jimmy said about his dad. Some folks are just too much of a pushover to run a successful business.

LumpyGrits

You had me up late last night man, I'm glad you gave Howard some credit. Him dealing with both of these brothers is insane when he's just trying to run a company.

Cademan

Only sound issue is the quality of the sound from the episode itself since he torrents these shows and the sound quality is absolutely horrible for the torrent.

Nate

There was also a foreshadow a few episodes ago when she set an alarm and fell asleep in her car before a meeting. The edit was similar to the car crash.

redhawk

I haven't noticed any sound issues. I think only your refined palate hears something off. The common man hasn't noticed anything out of the ordinary.

TigerMyth

I liked that cut, at the end. Somehow, I saw the sleep in her eyes, immediately, but was still caught off guard. The reason and the genius, here, is that it put's us in her perspective, since we don't remember the moment our eyes close, when we fall asleep. Well played.

Mike Elder

a purse is like a go-bag man :)

Dasypodidae

Unacceptable that you were late on this release. I'll let it slide this time, but don't let it happen again!

Scott Asher

Your brain is hilarious with the purse comment 🤣. I would love to carry just a wallet and keys too sometimes but the purse industry makes the clothing companies not give us women pockets purposely. Most of our pants just have a stitch where the pocket should be so we have to carry a purse. And once you wear one you start finding all sorts of things to carry in it.

Chris

Theres no shame in a satchel sir. No shame at all

Chris Robson

Yessss, been waiting for this😃
