I really liked this movie as a stand alone, but it would have been nice if it moved the main story forward. It sounded like she was terminal, so she was just going out on her terms, is what I took form it.

But u have to watch, maybe OG Evil Dead 1 before 2......what was that goddddaaamn movie when every one said ur fukin schizo when ur starting to built shelter for end of days prophecies...sec, yes. Take Shelter, so beautifully filmed ur sht ur pants almost. And from same actor Michael Shannon movie: Nocturnal Animals its just hits. I think he won oscar one of those roles???

Took her out of her collar because it was a little too big and she would get her face caught in it all the time when grooming. When we got her a new collar, too late. She was done with all that. And when we tried to put a leash on her for her first post-adoption vet appointment, she was over that too.

2024-08-11 13:59:44 +0000 UTCYeah I would have much preferred they done a ‘how or why the aliens came to earth and what the purpose is etc.. rather than an already dying woman going for pizza with a random man introduced randomly sort of thing, like you said if it jumped from character to character it would have held my interest a lot more, wasted opportunity in my opinion, could have been so much better.

While I love the sound of wind and heavy rain (something consistent), I cannot sleep with random, irregular / inconsistent noises in the background (random city stuff). I've spent too much time at my grandma during winter, with opened window (falling snowflakes absorbs tons of lower sound frequencies, that's one of the reasons why the world around sounds so silent during snowfall). It's interesting how even audio conditioning in your early life impacts the rest of your life and something so important as your sleep quality.

Stories like this, and like the best of Walking Dead, are about how humans live in times when life is impossible.

The hero goes out on her own terms, and leaves a as her legacy another person’s life. Beautifully told. I seriously thought the cat was going to jump onto the piano. Miracle Cat.

If you remember when the main family went to that island, there were no aliens there at first because they couldn't swim and would therefore drown, but the boats they used to ferry people over were too close to each other and the aliens jumped from boat to boat to the island.

All it takes is one sneeze, cry of pain, cough, walking too loud, any noise at all and they're cooked all at once. ETA: and why in the world is she walking down the middle of the group instead of on the sidewalk? Face palm!

We have already seen character stories in the first two films but an origins story that barely feels like it answers the questions we had from the first two films is what made it seem like a flop to me. There were scenes that rivaled the suspense of the first two movies but then regresses with the characters story. I feel it needed more recognition of an alien species landing on this planet. We got nothing new towards learning about the aliens. The first movie we learn about the weakness to sound, the second we learned about their inability to swim. This one we learned nothing new.
