This is "Post Superhero" kinda like the "Post Western" period where the deconstruction of what made a western started and subversion of tropes became the thing. It's the antithesis to "The good guys always win, everything resolves in the end, most MAIN characters will be OK, the superheroes are good". For more of this type of stuff (Post superhero/anti-marvel/DC) Logan, The Watchmen (movie and series), and now in animation there's "Invincible" which is much lighter than The Boys, still pretty heavy. And then of course there's Attack on titan, look at ALL the ratings on that series, I literally don't think you can box it into just the Anime, or even animation, or even series, or even great movies AND show... AOT is in a league of it's own, along with Hereditary, Midsommar, and Beau is Afraid, it's up there with Schindler's List and Interstellar. Too good.

If you can really understand someone, their motivation, what they want, why, ect.. You can "brute hack" this system using logic and deductive reasoning as much as possible: everyone you meet, try to figure this out. There's micro-expression, body language analysis (videos on youtube, along with police interrogation videos, obviously human psychology, and knowing a lot of philosophical "viewpoints", bake for a few years and it serves the purpose. Civil engineering is good also, but that I don't recommend "trying" it in the same way you wouldn't "try" fighting someone, or depending the situation an entire room full of "someones"

Its actually really great, the first 5 seasons anyway, and if you reacted to id sub 2 tiers higher for a year just for that. it would be fucking amazing

I've only been here a couple of months, mostly for Marvel - I noticed you didn't finish the 1st season of Gen V so I didn't bother watching any of the few reactions you did post, and don't know how aware you are of the 2 supes, Cate and Sam, at the end splitting up Kimiko and Frenchie who were originally introduced in Gen V. Filming of Gen V season 2 was postponed earlier this year when one of the main cast died unexpectedly in a motorcycling accident - just this week they announced their decision to not replace him. Given how season 4 played out, I don't think it's absolutely necessary to go back, but given the way season 4 ended, w the abrupt change of power and Homelander now in charge of executing martial law w 100s of supes, season 2 might be a harder skip when considering crossover info. Also, since the creator has decided to stick to his original 5-season story but Amazon isn't about to give up such a lucrative cash cow verse, it was also announced this week that a 3rd spinoff is in the works titled The Boys: Mexico. Buckle up for phase 4 lmao
