Some guy just posted this last week. He found every location, almost all of them cleaned up. It's sad about Ray's. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iiVVmz-glkk

Look on Spotify, The Blues Brothers toured and have a couple of great albums. Briefcase Full of Blues is amazing. They started off when Dan Aykroyd and Belushi were on Saturday Night Live and it took off.

So, I'm 27. My parents were musicians so I grew up in the music industry. When I was 7 my dad pulled out a VHS tape of The Blues Brothers, and he sat me down and said this was his favorite movie about music. I have loved this movie ever since! Yes it's quirky, the physics make no sense, and the amount of absolute carnage left behind the brothers is laughable. BUT it is easily one of the best ways to put me in a good mood, just throw this movie on in the background and sing along! The amount of truly fantastic music they managed to pack in to the film was incredible, highly encourage you to take a look at the soundtrack! I knew I was going to love this reaction. I have been just waiting for the day when someone FINALLY recognizes Cab Calloway, and I had such a big grin as you called it without batting an eye! What a gem to music culture and history!
Blues Brothers 2000 definitely has a different feel, and for me personally, it doesn't hold up to what the first one brings. But it does bring another round of amazing music and another star studded cast!

What an absolute legend Cab Calloway was. I bet all the musicians in the Band must've felt starstruck to play/act with one of the true OGs. Such a showman, such a voice. Just awesome.

All the musicians in the band are actual musicians performing under their real names. The horn section was the horn section for Johnny Carson and later the SNL band.
I play trombone and have played this type of music. It's super fun to play.

Only Mr. L. Boyd would give a cogent analysis of real-estate value for the orphanage in The Blues Brothers 😆 You crack me up, man. Loved this reaction with you.

Twiggy was a supermodel in the 60s. Still pretty good looking in 1980.

Damn..Amazing Sir. Thank you for this one. I was so happy when you said you would re-watch , BUT show it to the Mrs.?? It honestly warms my heart to hear that. You had fun , loved the music , and realize that it's just a fun movie. Also , this is the 1st movie made based on an SNL skit. They did a few songs on SNL , and proved so popular , Aykroyd did a script , and many drafts later , we have the magic that is this gem. If you would like a copy of my custom OST , I will be happy to email it in attachments , or mail a flash drive. I have only shared it with 2 other people. Sorry to go on so much , but this movie holds a very special place in my life. Thanks again Peace

Fun Musical Fact - Both James Brown and Aretha Franklin's performances were hard to shoot as they never sang the songs exactly the same way twice.

This movie is based on a sketch preformed on SNL by Aykroyd and Belushi.🙂 It sorta became a real band, the original duo didn't last though. John Belushi died two years after this movie came out.

07:42 "What is THIS music?" That exact song is She Caught The Katy. Original by by Taj Mahal and James Rachell , released in 1968. Since become a blues standard. The film version was done by The Blues Brothers band whom you see in the film.

Holy Shit!!! Thank you so very much for this Sir! I think it's safe to say this is my fave non-horror movie. It was the 1st non-horror I saw over 100 times. Had the OST , and the other 3 albums back in the day. (had em on 8-track as well. lol) I even still have my copy of the novelization from my youth. I made a custom soundtrack that has every song use in chronological order with dialogue b4 each track. And the jewel in my crown , I have an actual set of blueprint of the Dixie Square Mall , (which was the one used in the movie.) and 1 floor tile w/tire marks on it. (I won it from a fan/friend in a Blues Brothers 20 Question Trivia contest. He did an indie documentary on the mall , and visited it many times. He had extras of the flooring , but not the blueprints. Oh , and he will NEVER forget the name of the cheap ass wine Jake was drinking at Elwood's and the gas station. LOL) Also , not sure if anyone noticed , but he is watching the Directors Cut of the film. I honestly like it better than the original. Anyway , all that being said , time to blaze the cones , drink the beer , smoke the cig's , (Using a chrome Zippo of course) , put on the Ray Bans , sing along , and go back to that some old place , Sweet Home Chicago! " It's a 2 hour an 56 minute movie ,We've got a packed cone of the icky , half a pack of cigarette's , I'm stoned and wearing sunglasses... Hit it." Peace

one of my favourite movies of all time :D. let's gooooo! If I remember, this movie once held the record for the most amount of cars destroyed in a film lol. Also, remember, this takes place in the 80s in Chicago and Illinois in general, a lot of corruption was going on back then. So that $5000 tax bill was probably $1000 actual taxes and $4000 in extra money to pay the right people, if you know what I mean. If you really want to know what happens in churches you should watch The Kingsman. But, Sadly, most churches aren't like that, I wish they were, i'd go to church more often lol. Every church I've been in is boring. No disrespect, just not for me.
The Mall scene is definitely the best police chase in movie history. The Blues does call and you must answer when it does, also they're on a mission from God so of course they're gonna join in. John Candy works with the police, not the Illinois Nazi's lol. Also, Rawhide was a Western style TV show back in the day and was pretty popular it was about cattle ranching.
