I recommend this sleeper to everyone! One of my all time favorites. It's hard to surprise me also but if you do, then kudos. Another one is "Clay Pigeons" with Joaquin Pheonix & Vince Vaughn

Bro this was as amazing as ever. You said it, rewatchability. I've seen this probably a dozen times. The biggest twist at the end for me was definitely that it was all real and the "Demons" were just evil awful people that did horrible things. I say the more he gets the better. 😂🤣😅

Great reaction. Don't worry. Most people thought the dad was crazy. I wasn't as skeptical when I saw it because I thought maybe the visions were real. I was about 50/50 insane vs real visions. I wavered a bit when he killed the cop but the visions told him someone would die. My roommate loved and hated the movie. He thought there would be copycat lunatics using the movie to kill people.

If this movie displays how God really is then fuck him. This God made Fenton into the demon. He was a good kid who questioned something out of the ordinary and was unselfishly willing to sacrifice everything including himself to help his little brother. Questioning, speculation, and curiosity are innate traits we all have. So if God doesn't want us to do any of these things because of his own vanity, why brutalize and torture Fenton for simply using the gifts God gave him? This God likes to punch down and bully middle school kids. Big tough guy he sure is.

The visions and demons are real. The good younger brother turns out to be a serial killer. We of course think the dad is a lunatic but it turns out he was seeing demons and visions. Fun little movie with a nice twist.

I'm confused as to whether the visions are real or not. We already know Adam is a liar, could have just convinced himself he saw the visions his dad did, as well as his own. None of the people on the list ever confirmed the acts that made them "demons" so I'm still skeptical (unless I just completely missed it). I thought the people looked more confused when the dad or Adam touched the victims and not like someone just pulled their deepest, darkest secrets from their minds. With Powers Boothe at the end, I could only hear him say how did you know (couldn't hear what was said to him right before because of the commentary). but, just a theory here, maybe he meant how did you know the killer of his mom was never caught. He said he saw his dad's visions, but all throughout the movie is was implied that they have to actually touch them to have the vision. Maybe both he and his dad were just crazy. Oh, and Fenton was crazy too. Could just be a product of his genetics, brain washing and manipulation by his dad, maybe a little unconscious guilt about what he did as a kid, so he's using the whole vision thing as a way to justify what he did by saying god sent him the list.

I smelled the twist about half way through. Just a feeling. When Adam was young he was coughing a few times, so I tried to watch to see if older "Fenton" did the same thing. Didn't catch any coughing after I thought about this and couldn't remember if he was coughing earlier in the movie or not, but my feelings have been confirmed none the less! I was also trying to get a look at young Fenton's eye color because they didn't look blue to me, and Matthew McC (I don't know how to spell it haha) has blue eyes, but by the time I thought of this (just like the coughing) I couldn't get a good look to confirm. One thing I did get wrong though, I thought he lied about being Fenton to blame it all on his brother. 1 for 2 ain't bad though. Sorry for all the edits. I keep fat fingering the enter button before I'm done.

I was literally going to comment the exact same thing! I said, "Ooop!" and then couldn't stop laughing. My husband just happened to walk in the room at that exact time and I just couldn't stop myself from telling a whole ass story about how I very rarely hear him cuss and he legit had that look on his face like "oh here she goes again, talking about some movie or show she's watching on Patreon again!".

Powers Boothe, in my opinion, has one of the best names in Hollywood, and it's actually his birth name and not something he changed it to.

Wow!! I am so glad you watched this one! (And yep , another box on the Reactor Bingo Card checked Sir.) It's in my Top 3 "Religion Based" Serial Killer Films. ( Resurrection - 1999 - Christopher Lambert and Fallen - 1998 - Denzel Washington being the other 2. And I do so hope you will watch them. ) And , yes I have seen it MANY times. Thank you for sharing this one with us. This movie is way to overlooked. IMHO (The same w/the other two I mentioned. Oh , and yes ,I know Se7ven fits in as well , these are much less known. And better IMO) Thanks as always for sharing with us. Peace (Oh , random request. Cube - 1997 - Sci-fi/Horror. I know it's a perfect film for you. And any that have seen it here , I am sure , would agree. TY)

Bro, that was SO gratifying to see you blindsided by a twist for once! Like you said man, not a whole lot gets past you. Such a well-crafted thriller. The type of movie that gets under your skin, and you find yourself thinking it over in the shower sometimes.
