He was born deaf and that most might not be able to actually hear the sounds coming from their mouth but can feel it. And simply mimic the mouth movements they see while making the sound they can’t hear. If that makes any sense.

The typo in your second to last sentence really changed the whole meaning and I couldn't help but laugh. "I've got a *dead* co worker and he's a little difficult to be around at time." I know you meant deaf, but my morbid sense of humor had me giggling.

2024-06-11 21:58:24 +0000 UTCI don't think the man from the first film (the one who screamed and deleted himself) had killed that woman. i think he offed himself after his wife was killed by the creatures. Also, this film looks like it takes place immediately after the first one..i mention this because at the end of the first film we saw other creatures rushing the house after they killed the first creature...what happened? are we to assume they managed to kill them? didn't see more than 1 creature body. It's like they forgot that part. Unless we are to believe that the couple from the bear trap incident are the same 2 creatures that were heading to the farm from the last film... as far as deaf people go, i've only known a few. While they could not hear, they could emulate what they saw and produce noise to that of someone with a severe speech impediment and usually weren't quiet. nevertheless, i could make out about 80% of what they were enunciating, and get the point of what they were trying to say. that said, the few i've met were never as good as the girl in this film. She's a little too good at it and too clear with her enunciation. overall, fun movie. thanks for the reaction :)

2024-06-10 04:59:07 +0000 UTCSo to clear up the deaf people speaking subject it’s different from person to person and a lot of it depends on percentage of hearing loss and how young it happened and if they have hearing aids since a big part of learning speak is hearing the sound. I’ve got a dead co worker and he’s a little difficult to be around at times. He can’t form many words and I don’t know much sign language

They have no pitch control and little volume control due to the fact that they cant hear themselves speak. they get words correct in a rough sense but they don't sound anything like a person with regular hearing abilities. I work with a ton of deaf guys and a few of them talk as they sign, most just try to use simple sign language with people since they don't expect people to know ASL

2024-06-10 04:07:17 +0000 UTCBro ur psychic lol. I literally just finished part 1 like 2 hours ago. I've never got around to this one yet so this will be a first one for me too. As far as the first one, you said it. It's crazy how good the movie is with such little dialog. The acting by the little girl, the dad (Who I know as "Jack Ryan" lol) and the mother (Kristen Wiig). It's so impressive how Kristen went from a comedy actress in shows like Saturday Night Live and movies like knocked up or Brides Maids to doing roles like this and she absolutely killed it. I'm excited to see this one. Edit - OK I was so wrong lol. The mother is Emily Blunt. To be fair Kristen has at times had an appearance similar to hers. Yikes lol. Oh well. I mainly remember Emily in Sicario lol.
