Drewcliff82

Sonic_Youth666

Very solid point.

Drewcliff82

He isn't going to watch Jessica Jones....that is the real Purple Man not Thanos. lol.

TigerMyth

Good point. Your comment is the main reason I've always wanted to see him react to the English dub anime of "Death note". Especially since it's so short... but so good.

itsRichErich

One of my fave Night Driving songs. BTW , I dig your pic. Would love to see Mr. L's reaction to Wizards. Blackwolf is a great character!

Madmanmarz1981

Ok so in the world of super heros there are 3 main categories. Tech like Iron man or Batman and powers regardless of how they got them like Hulk or Thor are easy to tell the difference between. Powers and magic are a bit trickier. What doctor Strange does is basically all magic. Part of it he learned and part of it revolves around various objects like the cape or the eye medallion. Anyway, excellent movie and can't wait for the next.

Drewcliff82

Okay so Guardians of the Galaxy 2 should be next. After that I really think you should watch Spider man 1,2 and 3 at the very least. Toby Mcguire plays Spiderman in those. Then if you want there is also The Amazing Spiderman 1 and 2. That way you will get Spiderman's full backstory before jumping into Spiderman Homecoming. Maybe do a poll and see how everyone else feels. The reason they don't count those movies in the MCU is the same reason Mark Ruffalo never got a solo Hulk movie. Stupid studio disputes.

Drewcliff82

I love it lol. Every movie. "It's Thor" "It's Hulk" "It's Antman" "It's Doctor Strange". I absolutely promise you there are things just as and more powerful than this lol.

Drewcliff82

anyone crack up laughing when he said "time no longer matters" at the VERY beginning? lol

Preferred User

Good question about why they didn't involve themselves with loki previously. However the ancient one mentioned that she always peaked into the future she just couldn't see past her death... which means I can only assume that she saw enough to know that the Avengers could handle it without having to get involved

itsRichErich

When you talked about being able to "Change everything around you" lol. That's basically a God right? Lol

Drewcliff82

Yea that's solid advice. Might as well at least watch the Toby Mcguire ones.

Drewcliff82

Yes brother. Tonight we dine. 😂🤣😅

Drewcliff82

Alright I'm back. WTAF Patreon lol. They need to fire everyone in the billing department lol. They just repeatedly keep trying to charge the same card even though I keep changing it lol. Sorry for that. Anyway, this one is so dam good. As I said before I don't even have to watch this to know this will be one of your favorites and Doc Strange will be one of your favorite heros. He's right up your alley.

Drewcliff82

I just assume that they only handle the mystical threats like they said in the movie which is why they aren't involved in every threat

dawn

Now I want to see you watch Inception lol

Derek Leach

Imagine what Captain America could do with the Ant-Man suit, especially if his shield scaled with him 😮

Sean O'Brien

I agree, Cumberbatch did a great job. Shame how they treated the character in the second one🫣

gak9319

Back to the Guardians next, can't wait😃

gak9319

Yep, big ol' glass canons😄

gak9319

i feel like he is going to love the purple man !

Samuel Avetisyan

Where were they? The question asked by comic book fans for decades. You have to just toss this question out of your mind. Simple. We can't afford a movie with every super hero. Heck, X-Men is Marvel but they never seem to be around. Just sweep that thought out of your mind and under the carpet. If you need an answer, you can run with what she said. She knew the Avengers could handle it but none of them could handle the existential crisis from universe eating Gods. Well, unless you are Reed Richards.....

TigerMyth

Yeah he's big bad but he barely even has a role in the movie

Brandon Tracy-Hurst

Your listing of the strongest only includes Offense. Everyone you list would die to a bullet they don't see coming. They may be powerful but they can be deleted with a simple shot from behind. Not all you listed. Thor does have some powerful resistance.

TigerMyth

I don't think I noticed it in the theater but this time I was like, hey, isn't that Pink Floyd. Such a tiny bit of the song but I did recognize it on this rewatch.

TigerMyth

Growing up, Doctor Strange was my main comic. I was so angry when the converted it to a dual super hero comic book Strange Tales then cancelled it. I think they did a spectacular job with this movie and Benedict is a great Stephen Strange.

TigerMyth

Back in the 40s when my dad was in elementary school, the owner / teacher / principal of the school asked my dad if he could swim. He couldn't. Mr. Sam picked up my dad and tossed him in the pool. Just like Stephen, his only choice was to learn. lol.

TigerMyth

Not sure if anyone said this or not (and I'm not at the end of this so I have no idea if you say it during the video), but if everyone were immortal, the population would explode because no one dies but more people are still born. Please correct me if my logic is off.

Denise Mattsen

ever since childhood Dr. Strange was one of my favorite comic books characters

trueyinyang

Another Banger Sir!!!!! It was such a blast to see you get so caught up in this one.(It is in my Top 10 MCU Movies) It just get's better from here IMO. Can't wait for Guardians 2 !!!

Madmanmarz1981

Dr Strange is indeed powerful but remember his body is human and nothing is changing that. You can hurt him with a knife or a bullet, he get's tired, he gets sleepy, etc. Take someone like Captain America who may not have the same level of power but he can survive several gunshots for example. Thor Hulk and Vision are practically indestructible. Each hero has their own skills, strengths, and weaknesses and they are all necessary in the grand scheme of things.

Soul Fist

Great advice. Before you watch the next Dr. Strange, you (weeeee??) need to watch Wandavision, and What if..? Both are amazing. As is Loki. AMAZING. But that's into phase four, so a ways off. Phase four, the beginning of The Multiverse Saga, starts to incorporate shows into the timeline. Some, the ones I've mentioned, are phenomenal, a couple are okay, none bad. Bull all have the same budget, production value, and polish of any of the movies. Which is dope. If you look at the wikipedia for Phase 4, it gives you a nice timeline.

Mike MIchelsen

Oh hell yeah!!! Already there brother!

Madmanmarz1981

Been waiting for this one. Dr. Strange is a great character , and deep in Marvel lore. I remember my 1st watch of this and actually yelled "Oh my god!" at the first 2-4 seconds of the song that is playing while he is dressing and driving. It's Interstellar Overdrive by Pink Floyd , and I spent many a "vacation" in my youth diggin' on that tune. Fun Fact - The band was very into reading Dr Strange comics back in the day , and you can hear/read some themes from the books in some of their eariler works.( Syd Barrett era mostly) I think it's just cool that they used a classic Floyd song. I am smoked out as hell for this one...Let's do it!!!

Madmanmarz1981

Kamar-Taj didn't get involved in the invasion of New York because they knew the Avengers could handle it. If they stepped in at any time, they'd HAVE to step in Every time.

Molly McAllister

...Always was...

Mike MIchelsen

Dormammu is the villian. And he's BIG bad... At least in comics. On par with Mephisto, or Galactus... The crusty-eye monks? Totally forgettable. Just pawns.

Mike MIchelsen

After seeing his reaction to Thor 2 I personally think he'll actually enjoy the shows as well and not hate on them as much as others sometimes do. People tend to be more emotional towards latter mcu stuff but with how open-minded he comes in and logical he is I think he might just have fun with them like others also did. They're divisive for a reason, some like them and some don't. At the end of the day our opinions might not be the same as his. Can't wait to see what he thinks about them. I feel like Loki would be right up his alley.

Diiego

To answer your question at the end yes each project has its own directors and like with other films each respective sequel or triliogy usually tries to keep those directors for example *not spoilers* Jon Watts directed all the Spider-Man films, Taika Waititi did Thor 3 & 4, Russo Brothers did Captain America 2 & 3, Jon Favreau doing Iron Man 1 & 2, and James Gunn doing all the Guardian of the Galaxy films. Some have more visually distinct styles that are noticeable like Gunn with GoTG and Taika with Thor but not all do.

Diiego

Will your series include some of the shows? They’re a mixed bag with ups and downs but some are needed for context and thankfully all only 1 season minus Loki.

Isaac

This isn’t an old story it’s ongoing in the timeline. As far as their involvement with Loki in New York, you will be provided context for that in a later movie.

Isaac

YES! You shall soon have your answers. If you're wondering why they didn't help during the Invasion of New York, just wait until Eternals 😂

JM

second this, should definitely watch those movies!

Diiego

Definitely

tony hotaling

Every movie in the series -“this is the most powerful…” -MrLBoyd… Hold my beer- Marvel

Ruben Sahagun

If you have never watched anything spiderman, you might want to watch the first Spider-Man from the early 2000s before MCU's Spiderman Homecoming because they don't show spiderman's origin story in the MCU since it had been done so many times before

Brandon Tracy-Hurst

Benedict Cumberbatch is from London, he pulls off a pretty impressive American Accent. Tom Holland (Spider-Man) is from London as well and his American accent is great too.

Soul Fist

if you go back and watch Winter Soldier when the hydra agent was explaining Project Insight to Captain America he said Zola's algorithm predicts who could be a potential threat to Hydra. Dr Stephen Strange was one of the people he mentioned.

Soul Fist

39 minutes in, I knew this would be your favorite to this point. Also, I hope you watch the series WandaVision after you finish the movies. I watched it without seeing them all and still loved it.

Scott Asher

It's the perfect show for MrL. Watching him experience a well written Intellectual Crime Mystery would be great!

Scott Asher

After hearing what you said about that aspect this is why a lot commented not to listen to the ones who want you to stop after a certain point. I can understand a bit of where they're coming from but they can just not watch those if they don't like them, we like seeing you form your own opinions. Going to love your thoughts on the multiverse saga after seeing your interest in that part of this universe already! Loving this mcu journey with you and how much you're enjoying it already!

Diiego

Great recomendation! Forgot how good it was that show, 100% support this 😊

Anabel Gonzalez

Mwahahahahah... loving the absolute befuddlement at the beginning there, when the truth is it's magic all the way down. 😂

Molly McAllister

First thoughts, 12 minutes into this... 1. You said he reminds you of American Psycho Guy... I'm proud of how far you've evolved in your pop culture journey! 2. The actor is English. He plays Sherlock Holmes in the BBC series Sherlock. Please, please, pretty please watch that!

Scott Asher

The only negative about this movie, in my opinion, is the villains aren't very compelling

Brandon Tracy-Hurst

lets go !

Samuel Avetisyan

This movie off an edible 🫡
