Hooray! The junkie absentee mother of color was the hero!

2024-08-25 05:26:46 +0000 UTCThe rules are pretty simple: The only thing strong enough to defeat a Vampire is GIRL POWER!

2024-08-25 05:15:25 +0000 UTCThey recently made a series on AMC. It’s solid good so far.

2024-07-12 03:31:31 +0000 UTCHell yea. The look, the music and some great violence. I'm glad to meet someone else on here with such good taste.

2024-06-15 06:08:50 +0000 UTCQueen of the Damned is a 10/10 for me. It may just be the nostalgia.
Rana
2024-06-15 02:04:28 +0000 UTCYea it's one of those ones that's a classic but it isn't the best just bc how old it is. Interview with a vampire is definitely my favorite vamp movie. Brahm Stokers Dracula, Dracula 2000, Queen of the Damned, John Carpenter's Vampires and Lost Boys are all amazing also. obviously Blade as well. sounds like u have great taste.

2024-06-15 01:25:18 +0000 UTCHell yes.

2024-06-15 01:20:41 +0000 UTCI believe Nosferatu was the first vampire film. I wouldn’t call it good but it’s definitely worth a watch just for historical perspective. There is also a tv series NOS4A2 which was very “mid” as the kids say.

2024-06-14 19:50:23 +0000 UTCI recommend the interview with a vampire series on AMC if you want to delve into vampires.

2024-06-14 19:44:50 +0000 UTCyes lol. He would hate those movies. Too much romance and teen drama for him.

2024-05-31 01:31:33 +0000 UTCOk so the over scoring is another thing that is very common in horror films. They always try to convey a sense of dread by using heavy scoring, then pauses of silence. I've been a horror fan my whole life. I loved this one and it was my 2nd time watching it. Shows and movies always have different vampire rules and this one was no different. Similar to vampire diaries in how they turn. In Vampire Diraiaes to be turned you have to die, then drink vampire blood. At that point you.can choose to do nothing and die or feed in the next 24 hours and become a vampire. Crusifixes, holt water and religious stuff doesn't work in a lot of modern vampire films. Wooden steaks and death by sunlight are typically the most common themes amongst all vampire movies new or old. These 2 directors also did the scream franchise, the 90s movie VHS and a more recent film called "Ready or Not". You should really check that one out.

2024-05-30 06:27:16 +0000 UTCNormally I'd agree with you about the all the guys dying but not in this instance. Melissa Barrera who played Joey is what's know in the horror movie culture as a "Final girl". It's an old tradition going back to the early slasher films like Halloween, Friday the 13th or Nightmare on Elm Street. They are the last to survive and covered in blood. Every once in a while a dude survives but not usually. A girl always does.

2024-05-30 05:45:15 +0000 UTCPeter - "Visciously tries to break down gate." Also Peter - "It's locked." 😂🤣😅😂🤣😅😂🤣😅

2024-05-30 02:21:51 +0000 UTCBro when you thought dude was unzipping his pants while that big guy was asleep. 😂🤣😅 Also, that guy's name is Angus Cloud and he recently passed away at the age of 25.
Drewcliff82
2024-05-29 23:05:33 +0000 UTCYes!!!! Like Sally Hardesty (Texas Chainsaw Massacre) or Lorie Strode (Halloween). More recently I loved Samara Weaving in Ready or Not.

2024-05-27 07:19:11 +0000 UTCWould love to see you react to the movie "I am legend" if you've never seen it. Highly recommend it.

2024-05-26 20:03:40 +0000 UTCi think its best to view vampirism as a sort of blood based virulent plague...well yes and no. As far as origins most go back to Vlad the Impaler as the progenitor. If nothing else most stories have it pop up around romania / transylvania. I would HIGHLY suggest watching Interview with a Vampire (1994). Its a great film and while there is suspense and drama, its not much of a horror film. I'll probably send a donation shortly if that helps push it along. On the film. I hadn't heard about this one, but it was very entertaining. I will say the pretty and (relatively) virtuous white girl living thing has been around since at least the 90's. definitely a trope.

2024-05-26 15:50:44 +0000 UTCcant go wrong with interview with a vampire

2024-05-26 02:09:28 +0000 UTCTbf every era of art/culture says it's gone down hill and the era before their current time period was better lol It's a phrase as old as man himself.

2024-05-25 18:57:47 +0000 UTCThat wasn't the part i thought was egregious. It's the fact that every male character is evil or dumb and you're telling me a normal human 110 lb female was able to put big ass Dan Stevens in his super strong vampire form in a choke hold? Scenes like that were blatant
Slimsycentaur37
2024-05-25 17:59:52 +0000 UTCwoman surviving in horror movies is not a new thing. Its just a bad movie in general

2024-05-25 16:45:36 +0000 UTCOkay okay, not necessarily the full set, but maybe the first movie just so he can see the many facets of what vampires have become.
RoseKeely
2024-05-25 15:03:46 +0000 UTCYep. Maybe we should examine why we as a society are more comfortable with female protagonists in horror movies.

Alyssa Dyson
2024-05-25 11:05:15 +0000 UTCA woman being the sole survivor in a horror movie isn't new or woke. It's actually one of the oldest and most consistent horror tropes

2024-05-25 09:26:34 +0000 UTCim down for all of them !
Samuel Avetisyan
2024-05-25 06:12:23 +0000 UTCLMAO smh another film with heavy misandry and sexism against men. It's getting ridiculous with every film these days. The "co-directors" look like they like to get pegged so I should have known.
Slimsycentaur37
2024-05-25 05:33:56 +0000 UTCBlade, Interview with the Vampire, Bram Stoker's Dracula, Lost Boys. Just to name a few.

2024-05-25 04:44:15 +0000 UTCGlad you went into it blind as well. Great Reaction. As far as vampire lore it really varies story to story so there is really no universal laws or history.

2024-05-25 04:39:37 +0000 UTCOh man this movie was good till the ending it just became to cring , Lets get MR.LBOYD to watch some classic vampire movies.

2024-05-25 04:26:04 +0000 UTCYou definitely need to watch the Blade trilogy now as well as the full Underworld Franchise. Maybe even the Twilight movies as well. If you really haven't seen many vampire movies those are just a small handful, and you will quickly find that the biology of a vampire isn't exactly set in stone nowadays.
RoseKeely
2024-05-25 04:15:06 +0000 UTCThey had basically revealed everything in the trailer.
