Alright!!! I’m so stoked! Just finished the first episode with ya. It’s been a while since I’ve seen BCS, and I’ve only seen it ONCE, whereas I’ve seen BB more than 10 times. So, you know you’re the man when I choose you as the first reactor to watch this with. Much love to you, sir! Love the content, the commentary, and the energy you inject into everything you do, YouTube as well. All the best to you and the family ✌🏼

2024-05-10 09:33:13 +0000 UTCBB is about gangsters, so it's more exciting. BCS is about lawyers, so it a better drama... and comes after BB so it's better film making.

2024-05-09 04:43:02 +0000 UTCNice, been looking forward to this. I agree with many that this series was even better than Breaking Bad.

2024-05-08 21:07:08 +0000 UTCFantastic. I remember the first time watching this and seeing Tuco. I'm like oh no what have they done. 😂🤣😅🤣😂🤣😅. Yes, that one was a Taurus, the other was the Mercury. That was the point that they look very similar. The black and white parts are present day and color is the past. It's kinda like those scenes in BB with the Teddy Bear in the pool. They will keep showing you bits and pieces from time to time. Man I can't wait till next week.

2024-05-08 14:39:50 +0000 UTCThis show is both before and after but mostly before: Anytime you see black and white, it’s a few months after the events in Breaking Bad (he’s already settled in in Omaha) and Saul’s new identity is “Gene Tacavic”. You will only see this at the beginning of the first episode of each season for some time (at the end you’ll see more, that’s all I’ll say). It’s because all the color has metaphorically disappeared from his life at this point, he’s living a meaningless existence in hiding. When you see color that’s 6 years before breaking bad (in first season of BCS anyway is in 2002) and Saul’s name then is Jimmy McGill. He’s only been a lawyer for a few years at this point. One additional time indicator you’ll see intermittently is Jimmy’s past flashbacks (like say, back to the 1992 when he’s younger) and it’ll be saturated with a kind of bluish /cool gradient. This show is confusing at first and definitely a slow burn. I prefer BB but some people like BCS better, and one thing I will give it is its cinematography and filmmaking quality is improved since BB - they really honed and improved on their craft in those years. That’s one thing you may appreciate as someone who knows some of these intricacies.

2024-05-08 13:38:42 +0000 UTCAlso: You picked up on Chuck's illness impressively fast, every other reactor is confused and doesn't catch on until episode 5 hahaa

2024-05-08 13:09:54 +0000 UTCI am absolutely pumped for this series. Its just as good as Breaking Bad if not even better. Just to warn you, the first two seasons are the weakest like with Breaking Bad. Not bad by any means, they just have slow pacing in spots. its very rewarding however because season 3 onward is some of the best television I've ever seen

2024-05-08 13:04:13 +0000 UTCRight now you are calling him Saul. Soon, you will be calling him Jimmy

2024-05-08 13:00:26 +0000 UTCyou are in for a massive treat. I'm jealous because I've seen every episode already

2024-05-08 12:59:36 +0000 UTCSo for those who are new to this show, the year it's set in is 2002, 6 years before Breaking Bad. The black and white is after but I forgot how long after.

2024-05-08 07:31:13 +0000 UTCAlways love/hate how confusing the pilot is, it gives you almost no context to Chuck, Howard, Kim, and especially the random Mike in the toll booth. It just allows you to watch more episodes for context.

2024-05-08 07:30:26 +0000 UTC😂😂😂 That was in fact an early 90’s Mercury Sable LS wagon that Betsy backed out of the driveway in. The front grill is a dead giveaway. The older lady just so happened to be rolling through in the Taurus. 😂😂😂 100% bad luck on it’s way to being worse luck 😂😂😂. Ford put out the Sable LS and Taurus to compete with the GM Chevy Caprice and Buick wagons. 😂 GM honestly smoked Ford. The engines were the LT1. The same engine that was also in Corvettes. Ford was that little dumpy 3.0 & 3.6 V6’s. They were just good enough to get the job done. But the GM’s were some solid big land barges that would 1 wheeler peelers pretty damn easy 😂😂😂 and ride like clouds at the same time.

2024-05-08 05:36:24 +0000 UTCFeel free to make it up to us with double Fallout. ;-)

2024-05-08 05:32:37 +0000 UTCIf I remember, the color portions are prequel, and the black & white were present day (to when it was shown). But I could be misremembering it.

2024-05-08 04:36:00 +0000 UTCHopefully you can watch three episodes next week to get on track because each season has ten episodes so if you do two a week you'll end on the season finale instead of splitting the seasons if that makes sense. Edit: or find time to watch episode two this week and just do the normal two on Tuesday next week.

2024-05-08 03:34:15 +0000 UTCThere are a lot of easter eggs for attentive Breaking Bad fans. You caught most of them this episode. One that may be a bit more obscure is that when Saul first met Walt, he told him his real name is McGill.

2024-05-08 03:18:13 +0000 UTCHe says “If I'm lucky, a month from now, best case scenario, I'm managing a Cinnabon in Omaha." I’m assuming he already knew where he was being sent by the time of their conversation good memory bro lol only on one viewing too lol

Not the most audit friendly practice, but it’s fine if it can be explained.

2024-05-08 02:11:21 +0000 UTCYou picked out the music right away- that's The Inkspots! They also sing "I don't want to set the world on fire" in Fallout. I'm sure more of their songs are in the Fallout games, too, but I can't think of another one off the top of my head.
