BB S5E13-14 FULL REACTION

Comments

All he had to do was tell Skylar he gave Hank that other $70 million to disappear. His marriage was rocky, that was obvious. To think he’d toss that and his career for that much money isn’t unbelievable

David Nettles

So I think I’m missing something about the show as a whole, someone fill me in. So Walt starts off as a high school chemistry teacher. His knowledge makes him better than any street cook. Ok. With it so far. But then Hank’s best chemists in the lab can’t replicate Walt’s work. Then, claims best meth cook in the world. Am I missing something? If he was even in the top 30% of chemists in the world he’d have been pulling 6 figures minimum in a pharmaceutical lab. In the beginning of the show he was a skilled chemist. At the end of it, they had him among the smartest people in the world. Hardly the first legitimate chemist to get into manufacturing drugs, but he’s apparently the best to ever do it? Someone fill me in

David Nettles

The coordinates are to ABQ studios, where the show was produced

Justin

LOL

Lenear Boyd

Why am I just realising that Marie looks like Dylan Mulvaney

Paul Jazzman

lol *kid goes to mother because america* no not just america try the whole world even happens over here in the uk pretty sure it happens in europe to. the only places i can think of that wouldnt go to the mother would most probably be asia as they worship man over woman

Silmoheru Rosaslie

Bit of a spoiler for him there bro 😭

Ciaran Boag

I believe Tom Green started an RV podcast. If you know of Tom Green

Dustin Puhalski

Really?? Damn

Shawn Leaf

That wasn’t real bro. Wish it was! Made the rounds about a week ago.

Rob Wolf

Oh and it was just released... another movie continuation of breaking bad is being made

Shawn Leaf

And if you eve do your mobile studio and make it to new mexico, I'm your random guy lol

Shawn Leaf

Madrid New Mexico... the locals will actually argue with you over that pronunciation... it's Ma-drid.. not Madrid like Spain lol

Shawn Leaf

On your Madrid comment, here in Kentucky we call Louisville “Loo-uh-vull” and Versailles “Ver-sails” 😂

ViperBreeze

Don’t forget El Camino to completely finish tying the bow on this Before Better Call Saul. A very good quick movie finishes Jessie’s story.

LumpyGrits

Nope. Skylar had no injuries. Saying his father "probably" killed someone? So show me his body (Bane voice). All they had was a possible domestic disturbance at that point. Sure, she could say that he's a drug dealer who has done terrible things, but there's still NO PROOF! The DEA didn't know about it yet. The only 2 agents who did were in the ground. It's still just he said/she said at that point. And since they are still married, no protection order in place, simply leaving the house with the child does NOT constitute kidnapping. If it did, police everywhere would be doing Amber Alerts every time a couple has an argument and one party takes the kid(s) to the store with them right after, just to get out of the house for a bit to cool off. Real life is not like TV/movies. Things don't happen right away. Investigations must be done. Now, if the police/DEA start looking into everything officially, sure, an Amber Alert would probably be created after a day or so if Walt hadn't dropped Holly off by then.

TeddyKGB

I will watch El Camino before BCS

Lenear Boyd

So not divorced but the 911 call about domestic violence would trigger an Amber Alert. Walt Jr called and said his dad probably killed someone, pulled a knife on his mom and attacked her, and then left with baby sister. That would be enough to be considered kidnapping.

Alejandro Rosiles

I will

Lenear Boyd

Everyone help out! We have to make sure our boy watches El Camino before starting Better Call Saul!

Nick Kessler

you got there. Just took a little while longer than most of us

TigerMyth

You completely missed Walt knew the cops were there. That was theater. Of course he knew the cops were there. That was a recorded conversation with Walt being abusive even though he never was abusive to Skylar. He said she knew nothing about the operation. He said he threatened her. All things he never did. That was Walt saving Skylar from jail time.

TigerMyth

Lol the coordinates are not China. I think you entered it wrong- you have to put a - in front of 106 (-106) not +106. It is the coordinates to ABQ studios where breaking bad was shot.

Tatyana Zinger

That makes sense

Lenear Boyd

Yes, grab a weapon. He's a mass murdering drug dealer who just revealed a family member is dead because of his actions 😂 I do love how you didn't realise he was doing the call on purpose!

Matt Rumsey

Yes they have great videos.

Alyssa Dyson

I would love to see him start watching Analyzing Evil for the movies he's seen. That and History Buffs.

Alejandro Rosiles

Also he started cutting off the crust on his sandwiches after Krazy 8.

Alejandro Rosiles

I know he has a divergent view of emotion and interpersonal relationships. This one just really surprised me. I remain a supporter and a fan.

DripCarayBBX

I think it was mentioned that it is supposed to be in or near some American Indian reservation, so my thought process lead me to believe, that they obfuscated the coordinates, so bunch of fans won't flood the area and start making holes :D

Michal Kubán

Well here it is the greatest ever episode of television in Ozymandias! But I had a feeling you wouldn’t be emotional or sad over Hank’s death because you weren’t a fan of his character. I think most consider this TV royalty and the only 10.0 rating on IMDB for any show or movie is that they were on hanks side at this point and wanted Walt in jail, other reactors I’ve seen were heartbroken when Hank was killed but I knew you wouldn’t be, think it makes for a better reaction when you’re on hank and Jesse’s side personally but It was interesting seeing a different take from the usual reactions to this episode so I’m all for it sir like the satisfaction when Jesse gets taken out from under the car. Plus the “I watched Jane die moment” usually makes people hate Walt with a vengeance so was refreshing that you were just like “MANIACAL” hahahaha Just unbelievable acting though from Bryan Cranston and even Anna Gunn when she ran outside chasing Walt with her emotion and desperation. Bit harsh calling Walt junior weak with all he’s found out in one moment but I know that’s just you as a person and your opinion so can’t judge! On on the last 2 episodes which again are just the cherry on top of the icing on which is greatest series of all time and I can’t wait my man 😍🙌

Ciaran Boag

https://www.cerebralpalsyguide.com/blog/cerebral-palsy-childrens-mental-health/ - In this informative article Walt Jr is going through the most common symptoms of his condition which include him having less capacity for adapting to new or unexpected situations, less reserve to handle stress, change, or problems, and drastic responses to unexpected problems. I believe these are what Walt Jr. was displaying that you found odd, which yes, you are correct, but I believe it's more than likely a result of his neurological disorder. I imagine it must be difficult for the actor to not over-act an overreaction which he as a person would more than likely perceive as an acceptable response i guess lol If that makes any sense

Slimsycentaur37

the gps coordinates lead to abq studios where they filmed breaking bad!

Matt Rumsey

Did you notice the mirror imagery of walt falling over when hank got shot was the same as Gus falling over at the pool when his friend got shot in the flashback! At every point in this series Walt took over the personas of the people he killed as he moved up in the world, adopting their habits (having ice in his whiskey like mike even though he didnt before; even adopting habits when he never saw them do it: he started putting a towel under his knees like gus does when he throws up in the toilet) and mannerisms. Its very poetic in this show at times!

Matt Rumsey

Tbh; I'd probably spit on the man that poisoned my partners child as well :')

Matt Rumsey

I know you mentioned you were going to watch better call saul. But I hope you do watch El Camino STRAIGHT away after this. Its an hour and a half special that continues directly on from the conclusion of the last episode. Apologies if you have mentioned this/are aware of this and i missed it!

Matt Rumsey

He should have just taken his new identity and gotten away...his need for vengeance led him to where he was. He made a lot of stupid decisions throughout the show.

Alyssa Dyson

I don’t think Jesse had much of a choice when Hank caught him. It was either go to jail for arson / attempted arson, or work with Hank. After just finding out what Walt did to Brock, it was an easier decision for him to work with the DEA to bring down Walt.

redhawk

lmao...usually I can see Mrlboyd's perspective on a lot of things but the comment on him being weak I have no palpable defense for that.

Alyssa Dyson

For me I just try to take everything he says that would be wild for me and you and think of it from a different perspective... with that being said it was crazy for Jesse to bring the DEA into his personal issue with walt. Where do you go from there as a character? In the end it ended up getting hank killed and almost himself killed so thats why his comment about Jesse doesn't really bother me. I can see why he would think he should die but that also doesn't mean that I feel the same way.

Alyssa Dyson

He’s called him Walt before that scene. In the season 2 episode Breakage, Jesse says “we do it my way, or I walk. You need me more than I need you, Walt.”

redhawk

When Walt is aggressively driving to find Jesse, who Walt thinks is burning his money. On the phone, Jesse refers to him as "Walt" instead of "Mr. White" for the first time in the entire show. This is because Jesse called him "Mr. White" as a show of respect, but at this point, he no longer has any respect for Walter. I always thought that was a great touch

antbox1992

He thought Jesse SHOULD be killed for being a rat ever since he started working with Hank. With Marie, he happily corrected her every time she alluded to Hank’s existence during her conversation with Skyler, so I don’t think the laugh was simply due to her facial expression in that scene.

redhawk

https://youtu.be/zIjfojS354s?si=YQbMkby4Z3xlL_XN this is a great video to check out once you're done with the show...it's long but it explains Walter's character so well.

Alyssa Dyson

Im assuming he was laughing at her "cry face" cmon it was kinda funny... 🤷🏼‍♀️ and it kinda seems like Jesse's story is over at that point so you cant really fault him on that one.

Alyssa Dyson

Im assuming it's because that's who's story we're mostly following. We know he's a terrible person but the show makes us root for him anyway (mostly)

Alyssa Dyson

After BB ended, there appeared a one hour video on YouTube of Huell just sitting on the couch (backed by elevator music) in the safe house, waiting - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ghmJWwbDBus. There also appeared a Funny or Die sitcom promo for "Huell's Rules" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8domW4NwpBQ

Meg Geddes

Yah; probably the best idea, while BB is still fresh in your mind.

Meg Geddes

I'm not sure it's fair too call Walter Jr weak😅 I think most people would be a bit overwhelmed by all this🤔

gak9319

Whew what a run of episodes! I'm honestly surprised you didn't predict a few things lol. Something a few subscribers may have missed, or forgot, is that MrLboyd has Aspergers. His content is much more enjoyable when you keep that in mind.

JM

They signed the paperwork but never filed it with the court. They were still married. So not only is what I mentioned a hole in the plot, but Skyler could never have been forced to testify against Walt in court. Spousal privilege.

TeddyKGB

I thought they did get get a divorce?

Alejandro Rosiles

Yeah the whole thing with Walt taking Holly and the cops issuing an Amber Alert is a HUGE hole in the plot. They are married. One parent cannot "kidnap" a child unless they are divorced/separated and a magistrate has designated one parent as the "residential parent" or granted full custody.

TeddyKGB

Exactly 2 years. It begins and ends on his birthday.

Josh Noe

No it's an extension of the BB timeline that wraps things up while BCS is a prequel to the BB series. The writers confirmed at some point it should be watched in between.

Josh Noe

I don't know what Walt Junior's problem is- he's only had his entire world rocked by the revelation that his father's a criminal mastermind, his mom knew about it and was helping him, his parents betrayed his trust beyond repair, his uncle was murdered by his dad as far as he knows, and his family life is destroyed. Gee-whiz, Flynn, stop being so dramatic 😂

Jake Martin

Are there any Better Call Saul spoilers in El Camino? I don't remember.

Alejandro Rosiles

Please watch El Camino before you start Better Call Saul. It’s an epilogue of sorts to Breaking Bad

Isaac

Its hard to remember that this whole show takes place in a year or two, give or take

tony hotaling

Definitely not just you. I promise you, it's like I don't even know where to begin haha BUT. I'm doing my level best to accept that Mr. L. Boyd is entitled to his feelings about the characters and the story. It feels like we're way out in left field here, though, empathy-wise.

Jake Martin

You should watch El Camino before Better Call Saul. It wraps up the BB series.

Josh Noe

Imagine you go to those coordinates and there is actually $80 million buried there but because it's remote China they think it's just fake coordinates. That would be amazing.

EndlessRiver

That episode is considered one of the best episodes of tv of all time. Just saying.

Nick Kessler

I mean the son has cerebral palsy, a mental and motor disability, soo....lmao you're wilding on the weak comments on the lad lol

Slimsycentaur37

The phone call seems obvious to some people and after you understand it, it is. But he knows the police are listening so he puts on an act talks to her in a way he doesn't talk to her. He paints the picture that she had nothing to do with to protect her.

Nick Kessler

i was going to say basically this same thing. His last act was to absolve his family of any connection to the crimes. crazy episode.

Mister_Bleak

Mr. L. Boyd, I appreciate you giving emphasis to correct pronunciation- it drives me bonkers too- it's just that the locals there have always called the place Mad-rid; a detail Vince Gilligan wouldn't miss. I only know cause I've been through there and I thought it was weird, too. Also man, I'm honestly kinda baffled by a few of your takes on this one. Like Marie and Skyler for instance- you said that Marie is living exclusively for the approval of her sister, or maybe it's the other way around, but I don't think that's what's happening here at all. I don't see how it's a weakness for Marie to value her relationship with Skyler enough to want to reconcile. I also don't think Marie is somehow overbearing for wanting to be involved in her sisters life, especially knowing all this extraordinary stuff is happening. Of course it effects her; they're family. I might have you all wrong here and I'm sorry if that's the case, Mr. L. Boyd.

Jake Martin

This is the closest we’ll get to walter white reacting to breaking bad

Brandon

glad its not just me

matt Henning

I knew this one would be rough because it suddenly became an emotional drama for what is widely regarded the greatest episode of television, but it will take a while for me to digest some of these takes.

DripCarayBBX

Walt called his wife and said those things to get Skyler off the hook

Kyle Komperda

I don't think we should root for the protagonist just because they are the protagonist. The show has morally grey characters, but Walt is undoubtedly worse morally than Jesse, Skyler, or Marie. Many people turned against Walt after finding out that he poisoned Brock because that's a line that shouldn't be crossed, and also his ego got worse in season 5. I didn't want Walt to get caught because then the show would be over, but I don't understand you wanting Jesse to be killed just because he ratted or laughing when Marie found out that Hank died just because she's annoying (which I agree with) and gloated. That aside, Walt is by far the most interesting and complex character in the show (and possibly on tv in general), which I think is the reason why you're almost always on his side.

redhawk

Interesting, I looked up the coordinates as decimals and not as degrees (34.592000, -106.365200) and that actually points to somewhere in the new Mexico wilderness. But degrees makes more sense since there was no negative numbers mentioned. Either way it doesn't match up to what we see in the actual show since the other coordinates point to a forested area

David Melo

In the final phone call with Skyler, Walt is deliberately speaking to her in a way he never has before in order to clue her into the fact that he's giving her plausible deniability, so that she wouldn't incriminate herself. It was like his way of secretly communicating with her while the cops were listening.

Melchizedek

i think steve o *Steve-O's Wild Ride! - Podcast* he does podcasts in a RV or something lol your idea was stolen

Samuel Avetisyan

As a madrileña, it is so gratifying to see you put into words my feelings exactly! Yes! You tell ‘em! ¡Viva Madrí, que sí, que sí, que sí! Great reaction as always!

Ciara English

Why do you think Walter is not a terrible person? He has lied and manipulated everyone in his life.

matt Henning

The GPS coordinates where Walt buried his barrels of cash are 34°59'20.0"N 106°36'52.0"W. It is actually not in the middle of the desert, but a lot in Albuquerque Studios in Albuquerque, New Mexico where most of the interior scenes of Breaking Bad were filmed.

redhawk

I loved the laugh. Suck it Marie.

Mega Reacts

Walt knows he is being recorded and is playing it up so Skylar will hopefully not be arrested/blamed for what has happened. *EDIT: You figured it out.

Mega Reacts

Is SOA coming tommorow?

NBA FAN

WHOOOOO!!!!!!! Man I wanna watch this now but I got an early day so I'm gonna save it for tomorrow where I can have a few drinks and smokes and really enjoy these 2 episodes that are some of the best in TV history.

Drewcliff82

Yes! Been refreshing all day waiting for this
