I'm no special athlete or anything but I can clearly tell you haven't played any team sports to understand team dynamics. And firing a whole line on a football team? Yeah, it would need to be way more drastic than that. Those guys are there for a reason and they aren't instantly replaceable that quickly in bulk.

Fun fact: Oliver Stone (director) has stated that he wanted to make a football movie that felt like a war movie. Considering he did platoons before and was in the Vietnam War himself I enjoyed his point of view for football.

orrr also since he's the starting qb and has a family it seems, he probably gets the luxury of spending more time with them and showing up in the locker-room just right before going out for warmups. So he could have barely walked in and put his uniform on without interacting with anyone besides basic formalities.

Everyone usually has their own personal ritual in the locker room to prepare and pump themselves up before a game so the players could be all together in the same room but nobody is talking or interacting at all as they get ready. And nobody would even think about bothering the starting quarterback with any type of chit-chat lol So that's why in the huddle they spoke to the quarterback like they hadn't seen him in awhile, and in reality they haven't actually spoken to him even thought he's technically there.

1. NFL is protective of their trademarks and properties. They would not approve the use of actual team names. The words "Super Bowl" is trademarked and can't be used in advertising without the NFL approval. That is why you often hear it referred to as the "Big Game" instead. 2. The black coach was the defensive coordinator. Which most defensive players would just call coach. Also the coach is JIm Brown an ex NFL player in the 60's. He left football for acting. Was in the famous movie the Dirty Dozen, a war movie. You might watch that sometime. When he left the NFL he held the record for most running yards. 3. A million dollar contract isnt what it seems. You have to pay agent 10% off the top. No matter what state you live in. The state you play the game in are going to collect taxes for that game. Taxes end up closer to 50% So, I guy making a million might see 35-40%
