If she had her powers that whole incident with the Russians would have been over in less than a minute. Instead they almost died. It had zero to do with wanting the powers and 100% to do with needing the powers to keep Frenchy and their future life intact. And yes, there is a huge difference between wanting something and needing something to continue to exist. She isn't power hungry because she wants to dominate. She needs power to protect. The Russian chick is still out there.
