FALLING DOWN FULL REACTION

One of my favorite movies as a teenager, seeing it again now in my mid-thirties with a wife and kids hit different. Thank you for your review 😀

Valdiesel

100% But has he seen many 70's Blaxploitation? Granted , it is a funny film , but seeing some the original films of that Sub-Genre makes it so much better. IMO (I have a good sized collection of them myself. From Black Belt Jones , and Coffey , to Guy From Harlem and The Black Gestapo and on. lol )

Madmanmarz1981

Give us BLACK DYNAMITE. The people deserve it.

Lucas Roberts

As annoying as the retiring cop’s wade is. She she wasn’t faken the bacon. So there’s still hope. 🤣🤣🤣 No doubt the cheese has slid off her cracker. But no turkey bacon so just slip her some meds and everything should be fine 🤣🤣🤣

LumpyGrits

I watched a video of various Asian people from different countries. The question was could they tell where they were from just by looking at them. Other than the Indonesian, Inda and the Philippians? 🤣🤣🤣 The only ones that got it right, admitted they just guessed 🤣🤣

LumpyGrits

Keep in mind, he seemed Surprised to see his daughter at that age. They'd been separated for awhile. And remember, he said his plans were to enjoy the day with his family... and then they would All go to sleep together, in the dark.

A thing to keep in mind was the culture of the time. This movie was filmed at a time when women were very much on the back-foot much more than they are now, especially with regards to domestic violence. There were states with laws on the books saying spousal rape couldn't exist. You're married to this man? He has full rights to your body, it's not rape, just lie back and think of England. Thus the logic of the police officers (and even you) Until and unless he's actually done something physical to you there's not a There there, you heard all kinds of stories in the 90's of women fearing for their lives because of their spouses and boyfriends but because they hadn't done something Yet nothing was done... and when they Did do something it was usually the Final Thing.

Molly McAllister

That's not an M-240 or M-249. M-60, the Hog, accept no substitutes.

I thought it was obvious from the get-go that Pendegrass's wife was... less than stable. Sounds like she peaked in high-school, but that's okay, she had a family. Then they lost their child early-on, then her husband was wounded in the line of duty... Sounds like she has a lot of fear, and a deep-seated need for control as a result which her husband was an enabler of.

Molly McAllister

I get that, unfortunately my country has pretty much historically been a bigotry festival. That would be the mirror part.

Braavosi

It certainly lacks “virtue signaling.” It’s a bigotry festival

Susan B

COBRA!!!

How do plastic surgeons make so much money?🤔 Considering what they have done too once very beautiful actresses, they don't seem to disserve it🤣

gak9319

This one was interesting...didn't seem like much at first but the escalation was solid. kept me watching through to the end. worst day ever for that man.

Mister_Bleak

i live 15 mins away from this area of Los Angeles the really super sad part of all this is that it looks alot better/cleaner in this movie then it is now , so sad .

Samuel Avetisyan

I was born and raised in Los Angeles and was there during this time period. This film is very nostalgic for me in terms of locations and aesthetic. I like this movie because it holds a mirror to the audience without virtue signaling us with condescending platitudes. I think it was both of it's time but also ahead of it's time. Great reaction. PS Bodega = liquor store in LA speak 😎

Braavosi

What some of the Romani do isn't scams, more like organised crime😅 We have them here in Scandinavia too, though they usually gtfo when winter comes

gak9319

The homeless vets fought for their country and now they have the "freedom" too starve and die🫤

gak9319

He's the Joker he's Super Sane.

Ralordris

LFG! Lol.

Dustin Puhalski

Another great choice.

D Montano

He’s like a real life gta character

Reece Vando

Time to take it too far now Michael Douglas out the car now

Melchizedek

Cross-draw holsters in the 90's, which was the style at the time.

Molly McAllister

I saw this movie as a teenager, the anti-immigrant sentiments flew right over my head at the time. All I knew was I was a lonely nerd getting picked-on and bullied and then this film was like, "Aren't you tired of being nice? Don't you just wanna go Ape-Shit?" Took me awhile after graduation to realize, "Oh! D-Fens isn't the good-guy."

Molly McAllister

Now I remember. Anti-immigrant film with lots of brown people behaving as stereotypes, and audience cheering when the white guy exacts his revenge.

Susan B

That's wild, good lord! Sickening

Jake Martin

Saw this in theatres and the audience response to his treatment of the Asian store owner at the beginning was racist AF. People cheered when the Asian guy was cowering on the floor. 😢

Susan B

I love this movie.

DIITIVE

Oh Joel Schumacher. The second most flamboyantly gay director behind John Waters LMAO

Slimsycentaur37

Oh man this crazy movie 😂🤣😅🤣😂 Every time I see Michael Douglas this is all I can think of. Don't cross that guy lol.

Drewcliff82

Now THIS is a Mr. L. Boyd kind of movie. Let's get postal. Also- I'm no legal expert, but I'm confident that self-defense in CA carries a penalty of 5 years mandatory reeducation and a televised struggle session.

Jake Martin

Was just thinking of this movie.
