English actually sounds much the same to non English speakers as German does to us. English is a “Germanic” language

2024-03-17 08:45:35 +0000 UTCAlso, for another amazing Speilberg film you should definitely do Saving Private Ryan if you haven't already.

2024-01-26 01:44:58 +0000 UTCI knew you would be shocked by how amazing this was. This was truly Spielberg's masterpiece. He has so many great movies. Jurassic Park, E.T., Jaws, Amistad, Saving Private Ryan and a lot more. This truly is one of the greatest movies of all time. Liam Neeson is the actor you plays him. You also saw him in Star Wars episode 1 with long hair as Qui-Gon Gin. You should really check out the Taken movies with him.

2023-12-07 04:45:46 +0000 UTCThere was a news bit recently about “influencers” taking selfies there. Standard-issue fashion-pose selfies. It’s as if the entire world is nothing more than a film set to some people.

2023-12-06 19:09:02 +0000 UTCThe role of Amon must have been a horror for the actor. To have to wallow in that viciousness.

2023-12-06 19:03:08 +0000 UTCNot shocking that most Americans don’t know about Tulsa. We keep our country’s ugliest truths out of history textbooks. 😞

2023-12-06 19:01:06 +0000 UTCMr. Boyd, a viewing suggestion: Soviet-era film about WWII called “Come and See,” name based on a quote from the Book of Revelation. It’s not a beautifully made film. It’s stunning in its own way.
Susan B
2023-12-06 03:01:49 +0000 UTCMe too. A great film, and a horror. Have you seen the Soviet-era WWII film “Come and See”? It’s almost impossible to watch. I fast forward a lot of it. Not a beautifully made film like this one, but as an insight into the viciousness of war and what it does to its participants, “Come and See” may have no equal.

2023-12-06 02:58:04 +0000 UTCPeople visit Auschwitz and take selfies for their instagram. Insane planet.

2023-12-06 01:43:48 +0000 UTCThis is a movie I sit through as a sort of penance, I guess. I’ve never wanted to walk out on a movie more, while feeling compelled to see it all. Because I imagine that witnessing their stories is all we can do for those who were tortured and terrorized.

2023-12-06 01:40:37 +0000 UTCHe already did Saving Private Ryan on his main channel

2023-12-05 17:52:04 +0000 UTCWilliams composed it. Itzhak Perlman, played it. Spielberg begged John Williams to score this, again and again, until he showed him a rough copy of the finished film. Williams cried and said, "I can't do this, you need someone better than me!" To which Spielberg replied, "Maybe, but they're all dead.".

2023-12-04 03:44:07 +0000 UTCOh god... King Leopold's Ghost, by Adam Hochschild is one of the hardest reads ever. My degree is in History, and I had no idea. I've got the book on one of my bookshelves, recommend it to anyone who cares about history... And will never read it again. Glad I did though. Just to know... If that makes any sense.

2023-12-04 03:39:09 +0000 UTCBy the way, Spielberg considers Lawrence of Arabia the greatest movie ever made and what inspired him to become a filmmaker, so that one comes highly recommended. 😉

2023-12-03 20:16:23 +0000 UTCUsually, I watch movies that I like multiple times. This is only the 2nd time I watched this and it's in my top 5.

2023-12-03 16:38:56 +0000 UTCHappy Birthday Mate! One of the best movies ever made in every aspect. One of the few movies to make me shed a tear. Especially the end where Schindler says he could have saved more, absolutely heartbreaking scene. I seen on your YouTube community page that it’s terminator 2 next? My favourite movie of all time and the best action movie ever made (in my opinion) is a perfect follow up 😍 I know you will love it. Oh and I hope it’s the directors cut version of T2 which adds around 10 or so minutes to the film but if it’s not then no worries it doesn’t change that much!

2023-12-03 16:11:39 +0000 UTCHearing you talk here about the Tulsa Massacre makes me think you should watch the Watchmen miniseries. It's been a while since I saw it, but it was an item in the show. It was the first time I heard about it, but I learned that even not many Americans had heard about it, which is shocking.

2023-12-03 15:48:08 +0000 UTCHappy Birthday! Hope it's a good one and that the movie didn't get you down too much. And that no lounge singers try to kiss you 😄 I think the most remarkable thing about this is that Schindler was clearly no saint, but he still did all of this while many "good" people did nothing. He didn't even start out wanting to help, but that's what allowed him to get away with it. It raises the bar for all of us. I only wish the world was half as aware of Leopold II as they are of the Mustache Man.

2023-12-03 13:43:28 +0000 UTCHappy birthday, sir. You got the gift of soul crushing sadness! Aside from this sad masterpiece. I hope you enjoyed your day... Thoroughly. Stephen Spielberg went back to collage to finish, and finally get his BA. Something he regretted not doing, when he was young. He went to UCal, Long Beach, and was required to turn in a short film to graduate. He turned this in... He passed. Spielberg is one of the all time greats. He's Won 3 Oscars, Best Picture for this, as well as Best Director. Of his nine total nominations for Best Director, he also won once more for Saving Private Ryan. I cannot wait until you react to that. FULL STOP. One of the most realistic depictions of WW II, and THE depiction of D-day. According to the men that were there. There is absolutely nothing like it, cinematographically. Well... Maybe Band of Brothers... Facts aside. This movie makes me cry. A lot. This is the 3rd time seeing it, and the first was in the theatre. It's such a gut-punch.

2023-12-03 11:49:23 +0000 UTCThe Actor who plays Amon also plays Voldemort btw. He just nails villains, god damn.

2023-12-03 05:59:40 +0000 UTCThe scene where Amon's pistols won't fire is there to show his complete lack of diligence in all aspects of his life. He doesn't even maintain his personal weapons...
