LOTR3 P2 FULL REACTION

Comments

Fly you fools is a reference to the time it was written. Then it was said as a gtfo thing. A more classical English kind of Easter egg. The end was real this was written by someone British who was born in the late 1800 and died in the 70’s so he also has seen and lived through a lot of curfuffle. The ending is a reflection of that even though it’s fantasy. Every warrior needs its happy peaceful ending. Specially a epic like lotr

Ricardo Catarino

Since Hobbit's feet are big, thick-skinned and hairy, they don't wear shoes. The hair is to keep their feet warm. Since they have feet like that, their culture never evolved to make or wear shoes; it's like an evolutionary holdover from primates. That's the scientific answers, but I believe Tolkien's reasoning was more thematic. They are a peaceful people who live in a lush and green land with no sharp rocks or snow.

Sheriff Uchiha

Gollum did play for good, as Gandalf said in the first movie. If Gollum hadn't been there at the end, Frodo would have taken the ring, and it wouldn't have been destroyed. Also, Gandalf brought three eagles with him, one for each of them, because he didn't know Gollum was dead and intended to rescue him too.

Sheriff Uchiha

My head cannon is that Sam left because he didn't know how to make Frodo believe him. But when he found the bread, he picked it up and went back because he had proof that he didn't eat it and that Gollum threw it away.

Twiska Brand

Arches actually work like that by design, it's not Anti-Gravity, but that is a really good way of thinking about it. When I was in a middle school history class we were working on building an ancient town or something, and we made some Plaster "Ice-Cubes" as one of the building materials. I got bored one day and decided to goof around for science... I was able to build a self sustaining Archway that could even survive a mild "Earthquake" (Me shaking the desk lol) but, due to the curvature of the blocks and the laws of gravity or physics or whatever, I was able to build each side tall enough, that I placed the top 3 pieces between the sides and the whole thing linf of "Sealed Up" on its own and became stable... Also I'm unusually good at balancing things, which definitley helped. I have always said Sam is the true hero. And I think Tolkien did that on purpose, to show us that the "Support Character" or Side-Kick... the Character who is overlooked and under appreciated, but keeps pushing forward no matter what... Carrying everybody else's Burdens so they can perform at their best. They are the true heroes. Samwise Gamgee is MY Hero ♡♡♡♡ At the end: I never noticed it before, but I completely agree... There is one point after Frodo "Wakes Up" and it does a Close up of Gandalf Laughing, You can definitley see something is off. Also the change in Color, how everything became warm and dreamy. It was probably Frodo's last thoughts before he expired. A way to comfort himself in his last moments and a moment to enjoy (imagine) the fruits of his Labor.

Sean O'Brien

Great. Looking forward to it. I would advice - for at least the third movie - to watch the extended edition. There is one scene that is so cool that I really don't understand why it has been taken out of the theatrical edition (it features a very cool and unique weapon). It's only 20 min. longer.

Dasypodidae

Most likely I will start those soon

Lenear Boyd

Have you already decided on whether or not you're going to do the hobbit movies as well?

Dasypodidae

In a half-hearted defense of The Hobbit films, I was reminded today that they were filmed for 3D using some then-new techniques, which is why the CGI is pretty much ever-present.

Susan B

do the hobbit films please. They are not as aweful as JR claims just a little underwelming.

Silmoheru Rosaslie

dont listen to anyone saying dont do the hobbit films i would really really appreciate it if you did do the hobbit films. sure not as well done as the lotr but does add some backstory to bilbo and other characters. As a fellow autistic information for information sake!

Silmoheru Rosaslie

Don't watch the hobbit - they are awful and they are prequels. The studios got too involved and f'd it up, not worth it.

JR

Please read the books, I think you would love them - and the end was not fake ;). There is SO MUCH MORE as well.

JR

Sorry MrBoyd but Frodo and Samwise DID survive and Frodo went to live out his days with the elves. I liked your theory though, good try 😂👍

Jeremiah Smith

You should definitely continue on with The Hobbit, it’s a prequel following Bilbo’s story and how the ring came to be in his possession, but it was very well done also. Fantastic Beasts was good I thought, but not as good as the hobbit by a long shot.

Wes

So two things. 1. Sam does not get the credit that he deserves. They kept saying for Frodo but nothing about Sam. He's the real hero because.... 2. Frodo failed, even thought the ring was destroyed he failed to throw it at the end and gave in. It was only because Gollum bit his finger off and fell into the volcano with it that it got destroyed.

Alejandro Rosiles

A treasure for my fellow LOTR nerds. This was a fundraiser that reunited nearly all of the cast during Covid. It’s wonderful hearing them reminisce. Billy Boyd sings Pippin’s song. Theoden shows up late and says “Buggar.” 🥰 https://youtu.be/l_U0S6x_kCs?si=as07gkzBftUAYms9

Susan B

For sure check out The Hobbit trilogy! It follows Bilbos journey before lord or the rings. It’s not as good as the original trilogy in my opinion but still good in its own right!

SikxVenom

At around 1:39:30, he is talking about a star that seeps through the clouds, not the sun.

Drew Boyd

Sir Ian McClellan (Gandalf) broke down in tears filming a green-screen scene in The Hobbit where he was all alone in the room and supposed to be interacting with the dwarfs. (Because they didn’t have the time or budget to do practical effects to make him appear taller than the dwarfs so the scene was all CGI.) He is on film breaking down and telling Peter Jackson that this isn’t why he got into acting. He loved making LOTR. They all did. The actors in the original fellowship all have matching tattoos they got at the end. But the Hobbit filming made Ian McClellan miserable. That says a lot to me about the time and love that went into making the original trilogy, compared to what Jackson was given to work with in The Hobbit films. If you make a great actor sorry he’s in the movies, something is off. The first Hobbit film is the one that uses a lot of Tolkien’s original material, so there are some lovely moments in that one. But the CGI is still pretty distracting,

Susan B

They survived at the end. The boats go to the undying lands of valinor, original home of the elves. Its explained much better in the books and wider lore tbh!! Frodo left with them basically because of mental and physical ptsd.

Matt Rumsey

There was a fan theory; that in the first film when Gandalf shouted "Fly, you fools" before he fell down with the balrog. He actually meant fly on those birds to mordor and to the top of the mountain :')

Matt Rumsey

The ghost army was a human army that was alive before they betrayed Isildor. They were forced to live as ghosts after they died because they refused to fight.

Matt Rumsey

Most people are cousins after 60 generations :'). Doubling ancestor theory would make it an obscene number!

Matt Rumsey

Again, well said. I would've even dealt with a duology, or even! A3.5-4hour long epic, with an intermission. Fact is, I would've loved that. Before the mountain/after would be a perfect break. The Hobbit would have been great in 2000. Had it come before LotR, we would've said was flawed, so LotR could be what it was. As it stands though... Read the book. Let your head movie be something Petey J would've made.

Mike MIchelsen

Also they didn't mention it in the movies for obvious reasons but Arwen and Aragorn are 1st cousins, but like 60 generations removed because elves live forever.

William P. Esping

Or a Flail.

Molly McAllister

Pyroclastic Floes don't work that way!

Molly McAllister

Amazon’s mega-budget crapfest Rings of Power has a volcano survival moment that made me laugh so hard my dog left the room.

Susan B

Don’t the book appendices include a poem called The Drop-Kicking of the Ring-Bearer? Along with The Gas-Lighting of Frodo, and the heartbreakingly poignant Friend-Zoning of Eowen.

Susan B

Mike, I loved The Hobbit book too. Tolkien as a children’s author has a different and utterly endearing voice. I think of what Jackson might have done with a single Hobbit film and the time to perfect it, if Time-Warner hadn’t been fixated on the idea of a second trilogy, and it feels as if fans were robbed of something as memorable as Return of the King.

Susan B

And he only agreed to be involved because Time Warner was going to take the films out of New Zealand if Jackson didn’t work with them. He created a ton of jobs in NZ.

Susan B

Please go watch a minute into the closing credits and hear the song. It’s gorgeous.

Susan B

Sam finally figures that out too. When he’s roasting on that rock.

Susan B

As they say in the Pitch Meeting for this film, “She got him on a technicality.”

Susan B

Tolkien got into some intense theological letter exchanges with Catholic friends. He had to justify his fiction.

Susan B

No house pet can withstand that scene. Especially when we start screaming “Death! Death!”

Susan B

Right? I still think of Theon as poor Theon.

Susan B

And maybe some of those dudes who were inexplicably helping their steward to burn his son alive decided to water-down the oil to buy some time. 😎

Susan B

Which has to be why Sauron didn’t at least put up a baby gate.

Susan B

There’s a Pitch Meeting for Return of the King that I think Mr. Boyd will appreciate.

Susan B

Dm me the 'spoilers' I need to know how off I am

Lenear Boyd

I loved that Return of the King wrapped up so many stories that people call the multiple endings.

Susan B

Here’s Gandalf’s personal reaction. 😬 https://youtu.be/SDcfiVMtfoU?si=ZJjOfLH5M_33heXt

Susan B

I think the spider stung under the armor. Inspiring the brand name UnderArmor. 😎

Susan B

They're a mix of very good scenes and very bad ones, and the bad ones are absolutely overwhelming by the end. I think they did a fantastic job with the characters and the story overall, but it gets bogged down by the nonsense they added. Most of the problems could be fixed with time and editing, but Jackson was basically forced to rush through the whole project.

Teth

I'm not arguing that the LotR movies aren't better, but you saying that the Hobbit movies are one book stretched into three movies. The movies deal with all the stuff happening during the time frame of story that Bilbo wasn't aware of. There's a ton of stuff included from the appendices.

Teth

RotK is infamous for how many endings it has, but they're deserved after such a long journey. Especially at the time when we waited two years to finish the trilogy. I cry as much as Sam every time. 😂 I have my critiques with Tolkien, but the way the hobbits are portrayed as soldiers returning from war is very beautifully done. You can see how deeply the scars of WW1 are ingrained in the story. The Shire is just as perfect as in the beginning, but they're changed. Some soldiers go on with their lives, while others never heal. Frodo survived, but he still sacrificed his life to save his home. As for the Hobbit trilogy, I think it's worth seeing at least once. The first movie is great, and there's so much lore that ties into this story. Just make sure you watch the extended versions! Especially with the second and third movie, they took out some of the best and most interesting scenes in the theatrical cuts.

Teth

Although it doesn’t bother me at all the biggest flaw to me is that the spider was able to pierce the methril chain armor when I stopped a straight shot shot from a troll and had no visible damage when the orc and goblin lifted it off Frodo or when presented to Aragon.

Kyle Komperda

that mace was no mace. when it's on a chain it's a flail. also, i'm pretty certain that the walls fell so easily on that castle because they were using a model of the castle and filming it. like a 3-4 ft. tall model. they were literally destroying a plastic castle model. no glue, so no mortar. neat idea, time saving, but it did come out looking a bit shoddy.

Mister_Bleak

kind of what i was going to say. these "traitors" could do a lot more work when incorporeal. they were just flesh and blood prior.

Mister_Bleak

I see something new in this film whenever I watch, and maybe especially now because watching you react, Im looking at it differently. What struck me this time is that Sam and Frodo on that rock at the end have a different relationship than the one that has sustained Frodo throughout the trilogy. Sam is finally allowing himself to feel regret for his own losses, instead of just being protective of Frodo. His body language is a bit removed from Frodo. He isn’t relieved in the same way that Frodo is. In a word, Sam is… angry? He deserves to be angry; he won’t really allow himself to be. But he is pulling away from Frodo in those few moments. And for the first time in the whole story, Frodo suddenly seems aware of Sam’s sacrifice. “It’s my burden, mine alone” turned out to be untrue.

Susan B

And that scene is so damn gorgeous. Frodo’s face as he floats against the red sky with an eagle passing beneath him. The design of that scene is just stunning.

Susan B

Your rant was spot-on, though.

Susan B

Given, of course, that Gandalf is basically a God. So in this instance, he's not lying.

Jakob

My favourite spin on my favourite line from this movie: "Oh, Sam. You can't carry it for me. But you can carry me!"

Jakob

Ha! Better said than my rant.

Mike MIchelsen

No facts twisted. Maybe if you watched the hobbit first, THEN Lord..? But compared to LotR they just don't hold up. Too many action sequences that seem to be flashy filler. No enough practical effects. My nitpicks go on and on. I loved The Hobbit. Love, still have my original copy. But these movies do not do it justice. And life is too short to waste time on the Wish.com versions of things I love.

Mike MIchelsen

Taking a ship into the Undying Lands is definitely a metaphor for entering a peaceful death, so the fade-to-white is meaningful.

Susan B

Lovely callback when Frodo says he can’t remember the taste of food, the sound of water… Recalling Gollum at the beginning of the film saying “We forgot the taste of bread” etc. Frodo is turning into Gollum. That’s why he has empathy for him.

Susan B

Continue The Hobbit!

Dustin Puhalski

Yessss, watch The Hobbit series. They definitely could have condensed them down from 3 movies, but they were still enjoyable. You should also check out Rings of Power as well.

Lisa Borth

Your BS meter was on point, just the aim was a bit off lol. The reason the ending felt off is because they changed it from the books to make it a happier ending. I won’t spoil it for those that haven’t read them, so I’ll just say it wasn’t what you saw or what you guessed lol

David Nettles

One more thing I admire about these films is how each battle has its own way of being depicted. There are grand battles, enormous in scope, with impressive machinery and numbers, but then there is the desperately claustrophobic battle at the Black Gate. That one reminds me of Battle of the Bastards in GOT, where the viewer’s pov is low and crowded and confused. It’s a way of setting the final LOTR battle apart from all the others. Truly overwhelming.

Susan B

Sam put up with a lot of abuse and betrayal. He knows it’s not truly Frodo treating him so badly, not truly Frodo indulging in ultimate betrayal inside Mount Doom, but the ring via Frodo; yet it has to be incredibly painful to have given up everything, never wavered in his loyalty, and be repaid with distrust. I think the scene of them on the rock awaiting death is played perfectly. There is a subtle sense of Sam being angry in that moment. And of Frodo finally considering what Sam has sacrificed to be at his side.

Susan B

Yes, like Gandalf’s horse. They are higher animals making decisions about when and how to participate in the war.

Susan B

And if you look closely, you can see that the little girl was given the hairy prosthetic hobbit feet! I love imagining a child’s delight in being fitted with those big fake feet. I’ll bet she never wanted to take them off!

Susan B

Now that they aren’t spoilers, here are my nitpicks with the extended edition of Return of the King: 1. In the theatrical release, we see Aragorn confront the dead king and offer to lift the curse if they fight, but we cut away from the dead army before Aragorn receives an answer. So the moment when Aragorn arrives to save the day with his dead posse is a welcome surprise, not a “when are the dead going to show up” thing. And a lot of your issues with the dead mountain sequence (Gimli being able to blow away the ghosts) also occurred to the editors of the theatrical release. 2. A timeline issue arises when Eowen is shown being healed by Aragorn and then being all clean and nicely dressed, which should indicate passage of some significant number of days or weeks after the battle, while meanwhile Merry is still lying unconscious on the battlefield. In the theatrical release, Eowen is last seen crying over Theoden’s body and then seen alongside Faramir at Aragorn’s coronation. 3, I don’t have your dislike of romance in the films, but the Eowen-Faramir sad flirtation with background singer was a bit cringe-worthy for me.

Susan B

That’s why I wondered why they were even slightly reluctant to fight and be freed from the curse. No sword but Aragorn’s could touch them, they couldn’t be hurt, so why not go kick orc ass and be released?

Susan B

The scene that makes me cry like a kid: “Do you remember the Shire, Mr. Frodo?” 🥲

Susan B

Can we all agree that the close-up of Frodo’s face as he’s carried through the red sky, with an eagle flying beneath him, is one of the most gorgeous shots in the films? Rewatching made me appreciate the details in that shot. Flaming sky, textures of the bird feathers, motion of its wings, Frodo looking like a saint in ecstasy from a Renaissance painting.

Susan B

There were days when scripts for the Hobbit trilogy were being delivered to actors on the set. No table reads, no rehearsals. Just a rush to get 3 films done because the LOTR trilogy had been such a success. Low budget, CGI-heavy, some good moments but none of the lovingly detailed preparation that makes the LOTR films so close to perfect.

Susan B

The little girl who played Sam’s daughter is his real daughter.

Mimi Hagan

Too long, they weren't terrible. But they definitely had ups and downs. And three movies are way too much. It would have been much better if they condensed it into two movies.

Nicholas Johnson

Frodo and Sam made it, because Gandalf brought 3 eagles to get them... fully expecting Smeagol/Gollum to also have been there (followed the hobbits to the very end, if they made it at all) No need for death-delirium extra eagles lmao

Riley

I think that, for one thing, the Hobbit saga is different than Lord of the Rings. Not sure if I could explain it properly, but I feel like Lord of the Rings is about the story, about the adventure, and how the cast of characters grows their bonds in that context. In The Hobbit, on the other hand, I feel like it's more about 'their' journey, so to speak. It's more personal, and the characters are in focus more. Not to say they are written or presented better of course, but having grown up with them, I can only look back to them fondly. Dad's a big fan, and even nowadays we have a tradition to watch all 6 movies together on Christmas.

Jakob

300 page book *and* several events from the appendices that tie into the overarching plot from LotR. The last movie gave me indigestion too, but let's not twist facts.

Teth

the hobbit movies are great. obviously not as good as these are, but still worth the watch!

Ian O’Brien

Th hobbit movies next , i dunno why some people dislike them

peter

ALSO! The hobbit movies are trash compared to this. No beauty. TONS of CGI. AND THEY STRETCHED A 300 PAGE BOOK INTO NINE HOURS!!!! $%$*&^$#^&... Sorry, I'm okay. But I watched them, and I can never get those hours back, you know?

Mike MIchelsen

Having read the books I can assure you that Frodo and Sam survived. ;)

Joerg Apelhorst

Speaking of the eagles, they are super intelligent, "higher" animals. I always liked that.

Mike MIchelsen

Hahahahahahhaha, I feel the same way, Luna. Gerseberms every single time. Hell if I'm sick or sad, I might watch Theodin's speech (A RED DAY!) and The Ride of the Rohirim just for a lil pick me up. It's good shit, shot perfectly.

Mike MIchelsen

This isn't the first time we've seen Gandalf on an eagle. He did that in the first movie as well. It makes sense that he would want to go look for them just in case they were alive. Also, in the last hour, Sam carries Frodo up a volcano, pulled him from the brink of death, and got married. I think he's entitled to cry a little.

BabyMac

Re your theory: 👍 I read the books and the film’s ending is faithful to Tolkien’s story, but even he once told an interviewer that Frodo’s end was meant to be “Arthurian,” so open to interpretation. (In Arthurian legend, King Arthur is either dead and awaiting resurrection, or is in a place of peace and healing that could be an allegory for the afterlife.) The Lord of the Rings in book form is presented as a recovered history, and what happens to the main characters at the end is often “said to” have happened, so left to the reader to decide if the accounts are reliable. Here’s what Tolkien tells us. Sam becomes mayor of Hobbiton after helping rebuild (in the books, the war did come to the Shire and the returning Hobbits had to help rebuild their home and even regrow trees and wildflowers, etc, which Sam did with the help of elven plant seeds that had a bit of fast-growth magic. I’m so glad that in the films we got a version of the Shire that was never touched by war. ) Sam “is believed” to have been afflicted with unnaturally long life due to his brief time carrying the ring, and outlives Rosie by many years before possibly being carried on an elven ship to the Undying Lands to join Frodo. Sam’s daughter Elanor is given the red book by Sam. Aragorn and Arwen have children including a son. Arwen brings Sam’s daughter Elanor to be her lady in waiting, a position of honor at Gondor. When Aragorn eventually dies of old age, Arwen wanders alone in the forests where the elves once lived before they left Middle Earth. She dies alone, of grief, as foreseen by her father. Pippin and Merry are both said to be buried alongside Aragorn at Minis Tirith.

Susan B

The Hobbit films are a massive disappointment. An expansion into a trilogy of a simple children’s tale about Bilbo Baggins, dwarfs, a dragon, and a magic ring that Bilbo heists from a cave-dwelling creature called Gollum, Charming story that was never meant to be an epic trilogy. I know you have Patreon subscribers who’d like to see it, and it’s a colorful entertainment with some familiar faces from LOTR, but the screenwriting is ham-handed and the whole thing feels cheesy.

Susan B

someone's gotta get drop kicked!

Ze_Sentinel

"Welcome to the home team, bro." made me laugh out loud. Thanks for that.

Mike MIchelsen

https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/ConvectionSchmonvection That TV and Film refuse to acknowledge that lethal levels of heat exist out to a notable distance from the source of said heat has been a thing since TV and Film have depicted lava and fire on-screen, the laws of thermodynamics and your own personal anecdotes are irrelevant. :D Even by your own theory, You saw the flash to white, then the cut to Sam, who YOU say expired, with his wife and kids, AFTER the flash to White. They didn't die in this film, they didn't die in the animated film, they didn't die in the original books either. And you know damn well they can't appear before you in the flesh, they're fictional characters. >xD ...and yeah, one complaint about this film back when it first came out was that it ended... then, it ended.... then, it ended... It just kept ending... Producers: "Okay, now we need an ending-beat for the film." Peter Jackson: "I've got a few ideas." (Proceeds to film ALL Of Them.) 'The Hobbit' story is a prequel, It was originally the OG Tolkien work he wrote for his own children that only later became the prequel to Lord of the Rings as he fleshed-out his 'Middle Earth' universe. It's basically the story of how Bilbo Baggins originally got hold of The Ring (which was just some random bit of treasure until Lord of the Rings came out, lots of other stuff happens in the story). The Hobbit trilogy produced by the same guys that did these movies you just watched has some mixed reactions from fans due to studio meddling primarily, but it's still a grand romp. What I'd love though is for you to watch the Rankin/Bass Animated Hobbit/Lord of the Rings films and comparison/contrast them.

Molly McAllister

Don’t forget the smaller ones are also goblins

Kyle Komperda

Dam it, I'm a blubbering wreck again, no matter how many times I see this movie it floors me. Best trilogy ever 😫

ezza

The soldiers in the ghost army weren’t always ghosts They were living men who betrayed their oath and became traitors. They’re only ghosts now because they were cursed by the old King of Gondor and forced to live eternally as undead entities who can never find peace in the afterlife. When they were men, they didn’t have the same powers they have as ghosts. They decided to help this time because they don’t want to be ghosts. The curse will be broken once they fulfill their pledge. This was explained in the movie.

Tron

LOTR and GOT: Armies of the Dead. One additional reference /tribute to LOTR by GOT creator. There are many, beginning with faithful sidekicks named Samwise / Samwell.

Susan B

Ok the the hobbit prequel trilogy next please it’s bilbos story lol love your commentary

Kyle Komperda

Sam’s looking at a small star through the clouds not the sun

Kyle Komperda

Frodo and Sam didn’t die 😂 The Hobbit movies are prequels and add a solid amount of story to the world if you’d like more check them out I’ll continue my support

Stryder Garvey

The director of photography didn't mess up. 'The Light' was that one, single, solitary star peeking through the clouds. Not much to you or me maybe, but to two hobbits in the middle of Mordor it's everything.

Molly McAllister

The ghost army is untouchable because it is a ghost army. When they were living men. They were cowards and could be killed.

Mega Reacts

There's a whole chunk in the books known as the scouring of the shire where the kerfuffle definitely did touch them lol.

Christopher Wichman

if you view the movies as its own thing without any book lore i could see them both kicking the bucket. the exact moment was when the eagle grabbed Frodo and we had that bright transition. GG Frodo and Sam.

taylor

The ghosts were just men when they bailed on the last king of Gondor. They didn’t turn to those things until after they were cursed. It’s in the dialogue before they entered the ghost cave.

Kyle Komperda

Lol, no, Sam and Frodo did not die on the rock outside of Mount Doom.

EndlessRiver

Frodo isn't really to blame at the end, it would be impossible for anyone to resist the ring at the place of it's creation.

Christopher Wichman

Of course nothing can touch them, now. They're Dead. Did you forget the part where they were Alive when they originally broke their oath? These were originally ordinary men as mortal as any other before they broke their oath and got cursed for it.

Molly McAllister

It's just painful to watch Theon do that😂

gak9319

He's not on fire because The Steward sent for 'wood and oil', which in this context does not mean petroleum products. Most likely some kind of vegetable or seed oil which would be flammable but not nearly as volatile like you're thinking of.

Molly McAllister

Interesting theory, but what you saw from the eagles grabbing Frodo and Sam is what did happen. Now to be fair to the books, there’s a massive amount of content after the ring is destroyed that was not in the movies (for understandable pacing reasons).

Charles Grimes

The Steward of Gondor is grieving, but yeah... he's gone completely batshit.

Molly McAllister

The Nazgul have a debilitating aura power called the "Black Breath", that's why Merry, and Eowyn were comatose for a little while.

Christopher Wichman

He blew the others away cause as legolas said they were just being summoned at that moment to the place where they met with the ghost king. Legolas would not have been able to stop the ghost kings sword.

Kyle Komperda

The army of the dead was not always dead they were cursed into their ghostly forms so they were most likely a thousand times less proficient when they were breathing

Stryder Garvey

Eowyn cut off that head in fewer strokes then Theon could take a human head off with lol.

Christopher Wichman

There is for the lack of a better term, racial tension between the orcs in the tower scene. The small ones are og orcs, the bigger ones are uruks🤓

gak9319

"The hands of the King, shall be the hands of a healer"🙂

gak9319

Bro that violin starting up during the ride of the rohirrim is soooooo dope I can’t get over it. I got so hyped, I looked at my cat and said “I fear nothing Luna, nothing at all” and she ran away. Even she couldn’t handle intensity of that scene

Conner

Gandalf's speech about life after death is probably Tolkien's Catholicism shining through😅

gak9319

It was prophesied thousands of years before that no Man can kill the Witch King😉

gak9319

To be faaair, that 'flimsy castle' of Minas Tirith is thousands of years old. Yeah, timescales in the ages of Middle Earth is kinda wonky. And yes, the arches are held together by gravity. That is literally how arches work. At that scale, mortar doesn't hold stones together, the weight of one stone against the other holds it together. It's not that there's no mortar or cement or concrete or what have you between the stones, that wouldn't have saved them. It's that the walls are Too Thin. There's not enough mass in the wall itself to absorb the energy from the incoming projectiles. (sorry to belabor the point, but my inner nerd is in full 'someone is wrong on the internet' mode)

Molly McAllister

A mace on a chain is called a morningstar🙂

gak9319

If you watch the movies again sometime you will probably notice that from the second movie onwards Sam is the real hero😅

gak9319

The guy on the boat that Legolas hit was Peter Jakson, the director😁

gak9319

The mist hands was just to create a spooky atmosphere, the actual ghosts would have killed Legolas and Gimli, not Aragon though because of the whole Isildur's heir thing😄

gak9319

LETS GOOOOOOOOOO

Robert I Baratheon

Lessssssgooooo!!!!

Slimsycentaur37

Yay! perfect thing to watch while i'm sick :D. Can't wait! Also, let the Oliphaunt go after Legolas had dealt with the reins so it could continue to trample more people as it ran away? Hell no, we need everyone we can get.
