Well the book is a collection of accountings from multiple people compiled by maesters so it never really goes as deep as discussing people's personal feelings.

2023-09-14 05:25:12 +0000 UTCDoes book Alicent take Criston’s various murders as calmly as show Alicent? His immunity to consequences could do with some explaining.

2023-09-13 21:09:20 +0000 UTCIn my mind: "But why didn't she just kill them all right there with her dragon?" brain replies: "So the Show can happen" ...sigh....

2023-09-13 20:02:03 +0000 UTCBut we don’t all exchange fetish fun for murders. 😬

2023-09-13 19:14:09 +0000 UTCThere is even a moment in the previous episode when Viscerys calls Rhaenera “my only child.” He is delirious, but he’s also still in love with his first wife, Rhaenera’s mother, whom he allowed to be killed by the maesters to deliver their short-lived son. In my own obsessive thinking about this show, Viscerys’ illness is the price he pays for his first wife’s horrific death. At the end of his life, his last words are “No more,” a plea for the end of his misery; followed by that haunting “My love” after the screen goes black. He used but never loved Alicent; Alicent let herself be used out of duty, but has never known any love more powerful than Criston Cole’s near-religious worship of her virtue. When she is crying over Viscerys’ wrapped body in this episode, I can’t help thinking that she’s crying for the loveless marriage that has been the whole purpose of her adult life. She chooses to believe that he named their son Aegon as heir (when for all she knew he could have been referring to Rheanara and Daemon’s baby also named Aegon) because if she is not now the mother of a king, then her life has been as wasted as it has been devoid of love.

2023-09-13 19:13:27 +0000 UTCThe book Fire and Blood reads like a history book and collection of accounts of certain events written by a measter, so there really isn't any specific details on stuff like who had a personal relationship with who other then direct marriages.

2023-09-13 19:10:09 +0000 UTCIs book Alicent in a physical relationship with book Criston Cole? She seems to be in love with him on the show, or maybe just desperate for someone to look at her with longing. The two of them have in common their need to see themselves as virtuous, which is not easy to do when you’re either a murderer like Cole or running an Only Fans fetish site for an audience of one, like Alicent.

2023-09-13 19:00:41 +0000 UTCSer Criston is so many kinds of crazy. Nobody even blinks when he smashes random noblemen’s heads.

2023-09-13 16:37:17 +0000 UTCHer dragon was out of lighter fluid.

2023-09-13 16:35:01 +0000 UTCExactly. Too many Aegons, not enough Petes and Bobs. Inevitable confusion.

2023-09-13 16:34:43 +0000 UTCI still feel as though Viserys thought he was answering Rhaenyra’s questions from the night before. He was referring to Aegon’s dream not his son.

2023-09-13 07:17:58 +0000 UTCOmg I'd forgot about Alicent and her OnlyFeet account lol... I think I did myself a favor and repressed that part.

2023-09-13 07:15:41 +0000 UTCAlso when Ser Criston kills Lord Beesbury the account the book gives is that he either slit Lord Beesbury's throat right there in front of everyone, or he drug him across the room and threw him out the council chamber windows. I quite like what the show did though were it seems more like an accidental in the moment thing.

2023-09-13 06:28:17 +0000 UTCIt seems the writers added in the dragon bursting through the floor for some shock and awe, even though storytelling vise it doesn't really fit well😅 Helena has been hinting at it for awhile though "There is a beast beneath the boards"🐲

2023-09-13 05:39:16 +0000 UTCI really think George RR Martin missed out when he passed on the far superior "Kerfuffle of Dragons."

2023-09-13 04:26:55 +0000 UTCWay back in episode one I called that you were going to hate pretty much everyone by the end of season one. Didn't even take the full ten episodes lol. Hope you still find it enjoyable :)

2023-09-13 03:54:57 +0000 UTCMr B....go back and watch last episode. Viserys never wanted Aegon to be king. He confused his conversation with Allicent from the night before with Rhaenyra. Remember when she was by his bedside crying? It was thundering rain and she was trying to talk to him but he was incoherent. He always wanted her to ascend the throne.....period. No matter how we feel about Rhaenyra 's poor decisions, she was the named heir and his favorite based on his love for Aemma. Also...Rhaenys just sounded the alarm and let them know...yea it's game time usurpers!!! Remember Allicent did not want her to get her dragon as she said if she flocked to Rhaenyra's side, they'd be strong in number basically. Can we see how bitter Ser Christian is as well? He's a man scorned!!! Helena told you a few times...."there's a beast beneath the boards!"....though some say there's more meaning on that to come...looked good playing out in this situation to me! Shout out to the foot fetish!!! Lol! Some say Rhaenyra has no morals but Allicent is equally effed up in her own way lol.

2023-09-13 03:35:14 +0000 UTCNow I guess we see why they don't have those big marbles at the small council table anymore. And really, as much as Viserys fought to maintain his daughter's position as heir, to have shouted-down a challenged to the legitimacy of his own grandchildren That Very Day (Oh he knew. You Know he knew. But, this is 'Royal' Politics. What you know and what you 'Know' are two entirely different things) and then to just reverse that within minutes of taking his last breath? Kinda stretches credulity doesn't it? It's been mentioned before. Visreys was in a delirious state, thinking he was talking with Rhaenerya about Aegon the Conqueror's prophecy, not talking to his wife about their son Aegon the II. It all revolves around the Song of Ice and Fire (which the GoT writers chucked in the bin so they could hurry off and write for Star Wars before the disappointment of their job with the last season convinced Disney that they didn't want their services.) That's why Visreys was so adamant of Rhaenyra ascending the throne, because he had bequeathed unto her the sacred duty of carrying on Aegon the Conqueror's legacy (still kinda iffy why it had to be kept secret and wasn't more well-known. I guess there was the thing of people thinking prophets and those who believe them to be mad or something) Why Rhaenyra HAD to have children, by Anybody. Why Visreys HAD to uphold their legitimacy regardless of all indicators to the contrary. And why Otto HighTower's quiet coup was never going to be as 'quiet' as he thought he could get away with.

2023-09-13 03:19:48 +0000 UTCSo in the book Alicent and Ser Criston leave Viserys' dead body rotting in his bedroom for a week before they publicly reveal his death after they've summoned all their supporters. Pretty F'd up lol.
