The elder wand- as Kanye said, no one man should have all that power. And as Lord Acton said, absolute power corrupts absolutely.

2025-01-23 03:41:49 +0000 UTCI know that Lily was one of the only one who was nice to him and was his friend, but I also don't get his undying love for her. She was dating and married James, who along with his friends, bullied him, her supposed friend, all the time. Not a very good friend in my opinion, but to each their own I suppose.

2025-01-23 03:11:04 +0000 UTCjumping in here late....yeah was going to say, he said "ma'am" but with a British dialect.

2025-01-18 05:13:54 +0000 UTCthere is a reddit theory about harry being a psychiatric patient and hogwarts is a mental institution that follows the delusion of their patients. JK Rowling said that this was never the true meaning of the story and it's in no way intended. But rewatching the movies with this theory in mind, it actually becomes hilarious.

2024-03-17 02:13:02 +0000 UTCAs an absolute minimum there are at least 10 people who are directly aware of almost the exact circumstances of the wand, on both sides of the battle. And the battle itself happened at Hogwarts with hundreds upon hundreds of survivors. Harry isn't exactly going to be a tyrannical ruler who tries to bury the truth. And even if you have precisely 0 inside information... 'Harry killed Voldemort' is enough of a reason to assume Harry is the owner of the elder wand. Like if you were brainstorming who it would be, he'd be in the top3 on the list.

2024-01-12 00:11:41 +0000 UTCThe Snape Arc is what all is here for in the end. (RIP Allan Rickman) Yes, there's a lot of filler, but its hard to cook down into movie length. In the books it obviously makes sense, whereas the movies filler is altered to fit the timeline etc...
Christian Zwisler
2023-09-10 10:03:27 +0000 UTCNarcissa Malfor (Dracos mom) declared Harry Potter dead, because in the end all she cared about was her family. Its a re accuring theme. The Malfoys are just selfish entitled brats, but not as bad as they seem, unless it for self gain lol. Draco - Pussy, Narcissa - Pussy, Lucius - Pussy.

2023-09-10 09:44:27 +0000 UTCthe ressurection stone doesnt bring anybody back to life, they just reanimate them and the longer they stay this way the more miserable they get. (which is why one of the brothers from the tale hung himself)

2023-09-10 09:32:32 +0000 UTCIm thinking Snape didnt cry tears pr say, he prolly gave up his last memories.. It explains why it looks fake as fuck lol. Its actually the thing that have bothered me the most out of ANYTHING - about how fake his tears looked. xD

2023-09-10 07:57:09 +0000 UTCAnd if thats not your jam, like it isnt for me (anymore), there is the audio books. Its so much less of a hassle lol. I re-listen the whole series like once a year or so lol.

2023-09-10 07:56:26 +0000 UTCDunno if anybody said this yet, but they probably did... Give the books a try. ;)

2023-09-10 07:54:47 +0000 UTCHe is playing dead. Yes he nodded. Draco's mom is protecting Potter because she lives in fear that Voldy will kill him at any moment because he was unwilling to kill Dumbledore.
TigerMyth
2023-09-08 04:23:55 +0000 UTCI know you aren't a book reader but in case you didn't notice. The Malfoys have looked terrible, Voldy has been killing both innocent people and his own followers with no discretion. Some of his own followers are now mortified to be around him. Their lives have crumbled into violence and the constant fear of death. The Malfoys don't care about mudbloods but they also want to get back to their rich lives and not look and live like homeless people trapped in a gladiatorial arena fighting to the death all day every day.

2023-09-07 21:47:24 +0000 UTCIt's not likely sure, but some very cunning and persistent individuals could find and track down the answers. After all, the best stories don't occur in the most common scenarios, but in the rare cases. They don't even have to know for certain, just make some educated guesses and hope you're right.
William P. Esping
2023-09-07 21:20:07 +0000 UTCShe knew pretty instantly that he was alive. Her concern was for her son. So she asked Harry if Draco was alive to which he carefully and slowly nodded. As gratitude she told Voldemort he was dead They didn't do the best job at conveying this, but Voldemort was hit with the death spell. Harry's spell pushed Voldemort's death spell all the way back. They made it more fluid for a specific effect instead of clearly showing Voldemort getting hit with his own spell. They also made him fade away while in the books he just slumped over dead like anyone else
William P. Esping
2023-09-07 21:11:39 +0000 UTCYes and no. No one else knows that harry is the true master of the wand. So whoever steals it from Dumbledore won't know who to defeat. So it'll never act its best again.
Jillian
2023-09-07 20:07:43 +0000 UTCBecause someone could find it in dumbledore's tomb again, best Harry and become it's master. Destroying it settles the fate for all coming time
William P. Esping
2023-09-07 20:04:48 +0000 UTCIn the book, Harry used the elder wand to fix his broken wand and then put the elder wand back with Dumbledore. Idk why the movie changed it 🤷♀️
Jillian
2023-09-03 19:22:35 +0000 UTCI don't know, it will be put up for a vote when it's time

2023-09-03 03:34:07 +0000 UTCAre you going to react to the One Piece show? I know you love the manga/anime

2023-09-03 03:23:38 +0000 UTCEven if Slytherins were all bad, imagine if they kicked your kid out of school and denied them education because a hat grouped them in an evil category. That would probably be a bit evil in itself 😂

2023-09-02 06:35:35 +0000 UTCHyped for LOTR
Christopher Wichman
2023-09-02 06:04:27 +0000 UTCanother trait is the support of wizard supremacy. It's basically a cesspool of racist wizards put in a dungeon together. Makes sense many of them went bad
Jakob
2023-09-01 23:31:45 +0000 UTCAfter he does LOTR I think he would enjoy the Harry Potter “spinoff”/“prequel” Fantastic Beasts. Feels good to have to questions answered.

2023-09-01 23:18:26 +0000 UTCYou should def read the books
Alyssa Dyson
2023-09-01 22:49:38 +0000 UTCspitting fax about slytherin though. Even if they aren't bad people to begin with (being 11 and all), putting all 'evil' people in to the one big echo-chamber that is Slytherin house definitely isn't a particularly intelligent move.
Jakob
2023-09-01 19:26:14 +0000 UTCOk but now we all want to know what your Hogwarts house is 😅.... You might be an analytical Ravenclaw 🦅like me 🤔

2023-09-01 17:59:01 +0000 UTCWell, sadly, no. You can't call him fake Dumbledore. He actually is Dumbledore. He's not Albus Dumbledore, but he's Dumbledore... or do what you want. I'm not your dad.

2023-09-01 16:47:37 +0000 UTCYou could also check out the ‘Harry Potter 20th Anniversary: Return to Hogwarts’ reunion on HBO

2023-09-01 16:14:40 +0000 UTCAt one point in the movies someone had said that there was not a wizard gone bad that wasn't a Slytherin, but that doesn't automatically mean that every Slytherin is bad. Somebody who knows more than me can add the very specific traits associated with Slytherin. Just from the context of the movie, since it's been a long time since I read the books, I think it's along the lines of drive to be the best. Also, from context, I think they may all be assholes, though. ...potentially.
Mike Elder
2023-09-01 16:13:09 +0000 UTCI think it may just be a weird brittish pronunciation of "mam". Just a guess.
Mike Elder
2023-09-01 16:04:32 +0000 UTCgoing to hogwarts is now mandatory. It is a good way to blackmail their parents and family

2023-09-01 11:45:04 +0000 UTCDon't you think that Mr Boyd would consider the LOTR movies having a lot of filler? I personally love both HP and LOTR but if you think HP has a lot of filler then you would definitely think the same about LOTR in my opinion. If so, I wouldn't recommend doing the extended versions.
Dasypodidae
2023-09-01 11:08:15 +0000 UTCAlso you should either look up or have your wife tell you the back story of Helena Ravenclaw. It's pretty interesting.
Megan Brockwell
2023-09-01 09:10:19 +0000 UTCSo the character trait that gets people put in slytherin is ambition. Not all ambitious people are bad. But when you have an ambitious person willing to do anything to anyone to get what they want, that's what makes them bad. That's why most of the bad guys are from slytherin, but not all slytherins are bad.
Megan Brockwell
2023-09-01 08:56:04 +0000 UTCHope you react later to Fantastic Beasts to get more of Dumbledore’s background story. But also can wait for LOTR
Anabel Gonzalez
2023-09-01 07:01:51 +0000 UTCnot all slytherns are bad you know

2023-09-01 06:04:18 +0000 UTCThey don’t mention it in the movies, so you not understanding why he got rid of it makes sense. The elder wand has a bloody history and is basically cursed. Every owner of the elder wand has met misfortune. Most wizards die violently with it in their hands. Dumbledore took it from Grindelvald without killing him, but he did end up in Azkaban. Dumbledore also met a violent end, though he did last the longest with it. Mainly because he kept it’s existence secret. But once Voldemort found out that he had it he robbed Dumbledore’s tomb to get it. Voldemort died with it shortly after, not only that but he died solely because he sought after the elder wand. If he used a regular wand that belonged to him he would have killed Harry, but since the Elder Wand belonged to Harry it would not deal him a fatal blow. Harry made the right call getting rid of it.
Nicholas Johnson
2023-09-01 05:46:45 +0000 UTCYes lord of the rings please, extended versions only. Can’t wait!
Kyle Komperda
2023-09-01 05:43:54 +0000 UTCIf Harry kept the Elder Wand it would be in safe hands. But what about when he is gone? Who's to say it wouldn't end up in the hands of someone who would misuse it. I think he made the right call discarding it and it underlines that the Hero is incorruptible 😁
gak9319
2023-09-01 05:34:27 +0000 UTCWhen Harry was in the class room with Snape for first he gave Harry a secret message when he was asking about different potions..Basically told Harry that "He regrated the death mother...' Every flower and root had specific meaning

2023-09-01 04:49:18 +0000 UTCI was coming back to say this very thing.

2023-09-01 04:37:31 +0000 UTCWhy Slytherin? Strong ops make strong arms, you know?
Mike MIchelsen
2023-09-01 03:33:32 +0000 UTCNarcissa Malfoy never cared about anything other than her son Draco. She did not wish to be a death eater like her husband, only to keep her child safe from the dark lord. She asks Harry "Draco? is he alive?". When Harry nods, confirming Draco had not died in the battle at hogwarts, she lies and says that Harry is truly dead instead of revealing him. Voldemort staying alive would mean the eventual death of her, her husband, and her son due to how many times the Malfoy family failed the dark lord, and having him destroyed by Harry is only in her benefit at that point on.

2023-09-01 02:50:59 +0000 UTCHappy birthday!!
Lenear Boyd
2023-09-01 02:36:32 +0000 UTCSo, when I read the books I cried at the end. Literally cried. If I could, I'd sacrifice my right foot for the chance to forget all of the HP series so I could read and rediscover it again.
William Clark
2023-09-01 02:17:21 +0000 UTCYes I second this comment!! Although the hobbit is “first” in timeline it will take away a lot of the surprises and some things just won’t even matter for you that are important to the story because you wouldn’t have the context behind it!
Jenna96
2023-09-01 02:17:10 +0000 UTCAnd don't start with the hobbit, please no star wars order fiasco here. Lol. Worth watching 2nd if you like the old trilogy, not as the start though, at least to me. Books yes, cartoons yes, live action no for that order.
Triforce of Shadows
2023-09-01 01:35:40 +0000 UTCAw yeah! Great ending that really messed with my emotions when I first read the books and again when I saw the movies, despite knowing what happens lol. Yes, that IS Willow/Wicket (Warrick Davis) he also plays Professor Flitwick (the LeviosAAAAH professor from the first movie and others). Also, Filch isn't saying "mom" he's saying "ma'am" but the accent is very heavy lol. Also, if Lord of the Rings is next then it has the be the extended editions! The theatrical leaves you wanting more and the trilogy is one of the greatest in cinema history :D. Can’t wait!

2023-09-01 01:27:06 +0000 UTCHere this time! (Perfect Birthday present) [30th, 34] Going to definitely start StarGate series' soon per your recommendation. I only saw 1-2 episodes of Atlantis, a few random SG-1, and the un-tied movie. Funny you say that about paying attention, I can now understand. I just did my first livestream for a friend a few days ago and I did the same thing with the monitors. Had spanned over 3 1440p screens. (it's great to know you aren't missing things. ^^) "You let a grown man SLAP you in the face?" XDD "Well Snape, It's about that time Bro." The next story she wrote is how Harry's kid is Cursed. (so maybe not a happy ending afterall, although I haven't read that one either yet)
