There is a theory in the book reading community, the Hightowers rule over where the Maesters college is in Oldtown. Some think that since they are located there and supply them that they get information from all houses in the realm through the maestres like the Spider's network. In addition they can give "medicine" to anyone and not be questioned on the proper course of action. They potentially could be poisoning someone that is in the way. The could easily claim that a note or something is from one lord or misplace something in another. Similar to how Pycelle was loyal to the lannisters.

2023-08-14 20:58:20 +0000 UTCOh wow, its very upsetting to figure out that you stopped reacting to last of us because of the extremely vocal ignorance of certain groups. I hope you got to enjoy the rest of the series in your own time offline!

2023-08-09 18:39:48 +0000 UTCThere are a few exceptions in certain medieval marriages. Elinor of Aquitaine was first married to the king of France, but she only gave him daughters so he managed to get a divorce. She was in her thirties and got remarried to 18 year old Henry, future king of England. She gave him three sons🤭

2023-08-09 17:09:43 +0000 UTCYea we call those people Karens. They want everyone else to be miserable bc they are. Rhenyra had nothing to do with her ending up in this situation. Tell her to take it up with dad. Don't go around trying to make things difficult for everyone else bc your miserable.

2023-08-09 16:55:33 +0000 UTCI think they showed Alicent’s miserable experience in the king’s bed to make us understand why she feels invested in the sex life of her childhood friend. It’s a visceral envy. She sees Rhanera being given a choice of suitors, and that sparks a natural jealousy. But then learning that Rhanera might have claimed for herself an erotic experience that is forever out of Alicent’s reach? That’s one bitter pill too many. Alicent is the reluctant bed mate and brood mare of an old man whose body is covered with oozing sores. She loves and respects her husband, but their sex life is about as depressing as a woman could imagine. She’s probably also aware that her husband loved his first wife in a way that he can never love Alicent, and maybe the two of them even enjoyed sex with each other. For Alicent, it must be a torment to imagine what goes on between people who share a mutual physical attraction. It’s an affront to her.

2023-08-09 16:32:24 +0000 UTCWhat a doozie lol. Alicent and her dad can go to hell lol. He's setting all this up and Alicent needs to mind her business. Just stay out of it and let the family work this out. It is obvious that Damon has feelings for Rhaenyra but beyond that he just wants their house to be as strong as ever. Now he has to go back to the Veil and deal with his wife that he hates. I get it. It's disgusting to us but over time I thought about it and I suppose if you were raised to believe something wasn't wrong why would you question it. Things are about to get interesting.

2023-08-09 02:49:06 +0000 UTCDaemon.. Daemon... Daemon... It's becoming slightly more clear where Daemon's interests lie. He wants the House of the Dragon to be powerful again, and he as a very Specific idea of what that means, and he doesn't think his brother can meet that goal... not on his own anyway. Daemon seems to be more of an opportunist with his overall goal than anyone especially calculating, taking advantage of opportunities as they crop-up rather than trying to play 4-D chess a dozen moves ahead. He was pissed about the Stepstones because he knew the tactic that would be most likely to prevail, and hadn't done it yet, and hearing his brother sending a pity-party of soldiers was basically calling him a coward... at least in his mind. He came back and did that whole song and dance because he wanted to be back in the orbit of the Iron Throne where he could more directly influence things and try to steer things to what he thought was the 'correct' path. Then he notices how disatisfied Renerya is and cooks up his new plan to try and groom her to be the kind of queen that sees the world the way he does, but then he chickens-out in the moment... maybe he has real feelings there? Daemon did say he would take Reneyra 'as she is', and HE knows he didn't deflower her, even though everyone was acting like they knew she was. He doesn't care. He wants to take the House of the Dragon back to the days of Aegon the Conqueror. If He's wed to Reneyra and she has a baby that doesn't look like him, That's Fine. He'll kick anyone's teeth in who raises a fuss about that, because in Daemon's mind that's what a RULER would do. Ser Cristen Cole is gonna be a problem. He's taken oaths not to take a wife, he can't 'officially' be with Reneyra without forsaking those oaths... and I trust you remember how serious oaths are in Westeros.
