The movie had to be that long, because you need to be introduced to parts of the magic and magical world that are important for later movies. It’s tedious but necessary. This movie is also usually ranked pretty low on peoples list of favorites. Lots of people like the next movie a ton. I prefer the 4-8th movies. I’ll be very interested to see what you think of the next one.

His score breathes life into these characters. He wanted to come back but he had so many movies for lucasfilm and others at the time to work on.

But they seem pretty casual about kids getting blasted, or floppy bones, or any of that, Maybe a lot of danger, and mystery is calculated to put pressure on the kids, and the ones that die are acceptable breakage. Maybe Voldemort is really Just Professor Ops.

Wands also have a special connection to their owner. You can’t just use any wand it won’t work the same (Harry showed this at the wand shop in the first movie). Losing your wand is like losing an arm. Magic in this universe is not just having powers and saying words. It takes intent, skill, and overall knowledge of the magic to be successful in performing it.

They use spells and enchantments to hide and keep muggles away. You can’t use magic outside of school while under the age of 17. While under the age of 11 you won’t get in trouble since it’s usually not done intentionally by the child. It’s easier for kids like Ron to get away with using magic at home because they live with adult wizards and the ministry relies on the parents to monitor their children. Harry who lives around muggles would get caught immediately. Adult wizards aren’t suppose to use magic on muggles (Hagrid told Harry not to mention what he did to Dudley), in front of muggles (unless they are connected to the magical world like hermonie’s parents because of her), or on muggle items like making the car fly. There are specific laws for wizards and the use of magic that is not thoroughly addressed in the movies. Everything you have questions about is answered in the books. Just remember that some of the writers and directors for the movies didn’t even read the source material so there may be some inconsistencies.

He is a talented wizard tho but magic is like how education is to muggles. Some wizards are better in certain areas of magic than others. Harry may seem more adept at magic but that is because in the movies we don’t get to see his skills outside of quidditch and defense against the dark arts. Plus the writers for the movies ruined the Weasley family especially Ron’s character. They made him this comedic idiot instead of the loyal best friend who knows the most about the wizarding world considering he lived there his entire life.
