2023-06-06 17:18:46 +0000 UTCThe really tragic thing about Jar Jar is that Ahmed Best, the actor, faced so much hatred in real life over his portrayal that he nearly committed suicide. It's only been in recent years where he's been more accepted as a legitimate part of Star Wars, because the kids who grew up with him are adults now. Same thing happened to the young Anakin actor. He quit acting and ended up in and out of correctional facilities. He was 9 or 10 and immediately had adults blaming him for ruining Star Wars.

2023-05-30 21:07:00 +0000 UTCYea while I respect your opinion I can't agree with you on this one. There is a ton of information and events in this one that are so pertinent to the story. I could point out 10 plus moments in episode 2 and 3 where yoy were confused and had questions, all of which were answered in this movie. Yea a lot of people don't like Jar Jar but it doesn't really take away from the rest of the story. Bc of the order you watched it in you watched the 2 best of this trilogy before watching it. It's a build and each one is better than the last. Watching it in this order messes up the flow. It is what it is though. I just wanted you to get the proper experience. Have a good one bro.

It would make since that he would have a story prepped before production, before any crunch. aside from that, if it had been as you say, would it not have been simpler to just have quigon sense that anakin was strong in the force? Don't even bother adding the bit about Midichlorians? it didn't add to the film and took time to write in. sounds like in a crunch that would have gone to the wayside...or were you trying to say that this time constraint is why you don't here of midichlorians later in the prequels? again, not trying to be hostile, simply inquisitive as you seem to know much more about this than i do. thanks.

Once George pulled the trigger on Episode I he was on the clock and had to get the movies out and making-back box-office to fund the next movie before Lucasfilm went bankrupt, Midichlorians and more were the result of corners he wrote himself into under that time crunch.

George Lucas failed completely to predict the popularity of characters like Boba Fett and Jar Jar was his attempt at deliberately cultivating such a 'Break-out Character', and it completely blew-up in his face.

Quigon-jin was mentioned a couple times, in other Star Wars movies you've watched, as obi-wan's teacher. Jar Jar Binks was put in for the children i think, but was almost universally hated by audiences. As for wether or not he comes up again...not really, but he does get an important roll in the senate throughout episodes 2 and 3. Some even put forth a conspiracy theory that he is a Sith and behind instigating every event to follow, feigning clumsiness and stupidity. ( a silly, but fun to think about, theory). Also, welcome to midi-chlorians. an arbitrary measure of connection to the force added in this film, hated by all, and thus never heard of again. It is used as their justification for anakin being the "prophesized one" to bring balance to the force...he wasn't. (although maybe his kid was.) Palpatine ( darth sidius) is playing both sides. he wants to keep the trade federation aggressive as it strengthens his viability for supreme chancellor within the senate. Great reaction, as usual. i don't personally like episodes 7,8 and 9, but i'm hoping to see your reaction nonetheless.

2023-05-29 17:24:53 +0000 UTCOk, Anakin's conception.... he was born of the force, which is what makes him the chosen one... basically, according to the books, Palpatine and his master, Darth Plagus did something so dark that the living force, in order to regain balance, was forced into heating a being put off the force itself. There's actually a while lot going on at the same time as this movie that's not in the movie, but talked about in the books. Palpatine is not a Sith Master yet, his master is still alive during this, and they actually go to retrieve Anakin but just miss him when they take him before the council... Now Jar Jar... he was created to be a comic relief and just be appealing to children. Toys and marketing has always been the cash maker for the entire series.. however he does pay a huge role in the entire universe.. if you remember, he's the one who actually suggests that Palpatine be made Supreme chancellor. There are books that talk about, post revenge of the Sith, Jar Jar is shunned and excommunicated from everyone. He ends up basically being a clown for children's amusement, begging in the streets. Cool fan theory, Jar Jar is Darth Jar Jar... he is the one responsible for everything that leads to the empire
