GOT S6E78

It is weird that you can see shades of gray for some folks (Hound) and not others. Jaime kept Brienne from being raped, then he went back and saved her from the bear. He jumped into the pit with that giant bear even though he had no weapon and had his hand cut off. He gave her a priceless sword. I think he sees the honor in Brienne and deep down wishes he could be like that. Since he can't, he does what he can to protect her. The Hound as you know has a soft spot for innocent young girls. Sansa and Arya. Young boys, not so much.... butcher's boy. The show is full of gray characters.

2025-01-12 02:36:34 +0000 UTCYou don't need to feel bad about your Theon comments. He killed a lot of people. Yes he was a ward of Ned Stark but Ned never treated him like a prisoner. He raised him as a family member. Never forget that Theon killed 2 young kids, then burned their bodies so he could say it was Bran and Rickon. You can make the argument that having your manhood taken away is worse than death but..... is Grey Worm happy to be alive? Of course he is. Heck, the fact that Theon is alive gave him the opportunity for a semi-redemption arc so even though he was tortured in horrible ways, that is still better than dead. And he killed many innocent people. So no, you don't need to feel bad about Theon getting what he deserved at that time in the show.

2025-01-12 01:43:16 +0000 UTCMargaery had no idea if anyone was trying or able to get her out. She also knew how weak Tommen was. So she devised the plan to get out. Telling her grandmother she had to leave the city was a pretty clear indicator to me that her conversion was a ruse. The high sparrow and just given what you called an actual threat and said she needed to learn the new way. So Margaery sending her home to safety was not what the sparrow asked her to do. She was playing the only had she could play which was to fake conversion and work from the inside to get her brother released.

2025-01-12 01:02:23 +0000 UTCThe hound has no power huh. Yet you previously stated that the power that Cersei has and the mental power that rulers have is not real power. But instead by your definition real power is physical power. You constantly contradict yourself and shut out the opinions, views and deeds of other characters simply because it does not benefit the characters you like. Therefore you shut yourself to deeper layers of the show and are confused by the actions of characters you dislike when they perform actions that go beyond the realm of nastiness you have placed these characters in your mind. You jump through hoops to make it seem like everything the characters you like do is strictly good and right while stretching your imagination to make it seem that everything the characters you dislike do is wrong or for some evil purpose. These characters are meant to reflect real people and they are more than good or evil in every action they make. You disagree with characters you dislike simply because you don't like them not because what they say is wrong. I hope you approach deeper shows as a larger course meal and do not pick and chose which points of the story to listen to and understand and which others to disregard and pretend not to have observed.

2024-05-22 23:02:03 +0000 UTCThe Hound is the only good thing about this episode...seriously he gets the best lines/quotes too.

2023-08-06 00:04:47 +0000 UTCNot trying to convince anyone to love Jaime, but.. I saw that whole speech as designed to get the reaction that he got from Edmure. It's called taunting - it doesn't mean that you would necessarily carry out the things you threaten with. He got him to go into that castle and surrender it - pretty clever if you ask me.

2023-06-12 16:13:30 +0000 UTCYour tirades about Jaime are so funny to me. Around the 1:32:00 mark you should input that short video clip from Black Panther when they say “Is this your king??!!!”

2023-05-26 02:14:06 +0000 UTCYour reactions and insight are the best I've ever encountered on the internet. Such a joy to rewatch this show from your perspective. Big up to you bro!

2023-05-25 23:39:52 +0000 UTCAlso...yes regarding Jaqen H'agar ..he was a "proud dad' in that moment. Every step Arya took during the time with him and the faceless men we believed to be planned. He knew she'd see Ser Meryn at the docks etc. Jaqen basically set her course in becoming who she is now. I think he always knew she'd return home stronger and better than in the beginning. He favored her from the start.

2023-05-25 18:12:47 +0000 UTCMr B...the problem with Jamie is like most people...he's in a toxic relationship (sick and twisted yes)....but toxic as hell! He knows he needs to cut ties but he can't. He does have honor...remember the story from the tub with Brienne. He killed the Mad King to save the people of King's Landing but no one ever knew the truth of this. Notice everytime he does something or says something repulsive, he follows it with I have to get back to Cersei...or Cersei needs me. It's the only real intimate "relationship" he's ever known but sadly Cersei manipulates and pushes him constantly. Now fast fwd to Brienne...a noble lady with honor who wants to be a knight. He is connecting with her on a completely level which is also new to him. But he always has Cersei in his ear, unfortunately. More to come.

2023-05-25 17:53:41 +0000 UTCThe series is glorious from here on to the end pretty much - everything you have experienced before now will pale - hate that i have to wait a week for you to do the next two!

2023-05-25 06:13:37 +0000 UTCWhere to begin lol. Amazing 2 episodes. Love or hate Cersie, "I choose violence" is an iconic moment. Jamie's slap was pretty epic too and he was right about everything he said. Arya is on another level now. So good to see her get our of there. Tyrion's story is interesting bc this is the first time he's made a bad decision. He shouldn't have made a deal with the masters and should have listened to Greyworm and Missandie. Live and learn though. And yet again, I can't beleive you are about to watch these next 2 in a row. Both are God tier and imo one of the best 2 episode stretches in television history. I won't bug you about Jamie lol. That's the fun about shows is everyone sees things differently bases on their own experiences and feelings. I hate when people try and force someone to feel the same as them amd get mad when they don't. Keep the great reactions coming bro.

2023-05-25 05:06:04 +0000 UTCI watch another reactor that is doing six a week. I love the timeline but a lot of details get missed seeing so many episodes back to back. A lot of episodes end on cliff hangers and watching two at a time the small details in the first episode don’t get talked about as much because the cliffhanger leaves them stunned. Twice a week is a better flow then back to back.

2023-05-25 05:02:43 +0000 UTCI see a lot of similarities between the relationship between the Hound and Arya and Jami and Brianne. both men seeking comfort in their older age by trying to do good.to make up for al the bad. both women honorable and skilled fighters. i dont think jami loves Brianne or her him in a relationship way... but they do have love for each other. same with Arya and the Hound. just my 2 coppers

2023-05-25 04:34:05 +0000 UTCTheon did deserve everything he got. Then he slowly redeemed himself slightly. Your reaction was spot on don't listen to the haters.

2023-05-25 03:42:52 +0000 UTCBro, you just don’t know Jamie like I do… he’s a good guy. I mean, your first time meeting him was when he pushed a child out a window to his death to cover up his incest and then laughed about it… but he’s a good guy once you get to know him.

2023-05-25 02:39:38 +0000 UTCGreat points about Jaime! Also, yes, he did betray his honor by killing Aerys, but he had a choice. Save the people of Kings Landing / his family, or kill the man who wanted to “burn them all”. Was it honorable to kill the man he was sworn to protect? Of course not. Would it have been honorable to allow one man to kill thousands of innocent men, women, and children? Of course not. I believe Jaime became an even bigger piece of crap after that happened. He thought, “I killed my King. I’m the villain no matter what the circumstances were.. may as well play the part”.

2023-05-25 02:33:01 +0000 UTCFor the love of the Seven, the Old Gods, the God of Death, and the Lord of Light.. please give us the next two early! They are BY FAR two of the best in the series. I love your analysis of everything, and knew you would say something about Arya’s ankles possibly being broken before you even did. 😂😂

2023-05-25 02:22:33 +0000 UTCNow that I am watching 8, yes, you missed some of the emotion and bonding that occurred between Brienne and Jaimie. You thought he was saving her to protect his interest which I didn't quite understand because he felt he was safe once he met up with that small army. He was actually protecting her from the rape and then the bear. Heck, the bear he was risking his life for no gain. Perfectly clear shades of gray. lol.

2023-05-25 01:20:24 +0000 UTCBack to Theon. He did do what he said, just not to who he said he did it to. He burned two farm kids and said they were Starks. Your dislike for Theon was justified when you said he deserved what he got. Having said that, he was brutalized in the worst way. I'm not sure how long he was tortured but clearly he was totally broken when his sister came to save him and even when Sansa first arrived. You can be fully all in on someone being deleted for their crimes while at the same time not wanting to see them tortured. Plus this show is full of shades of gray. Theon risked his life and temporarily overcame his fear to save Sansa. Even though you don't see it, Jaimie saved Brienne of Tarth twice. He stopped her from a gang rape and then from the bear. You didn't see it that way but it was another shade of gray. Someone evil actually acting to help someone else.

2023-05-25 00:41:29 +0000 UTCMannnnnnn 😂 you’re getting to the point of this show that there NEEDS to be at least 4 episodes per week. Your over analytical mind will enjoy it thoroughly 🤣.

2023-05-24 22:25:29 +0000 UTCJamie is a good (interesting not morally) character because he is flawed and trying to find onto whatever sliver of honor he might have if any. When he is searching to find it he is at his best but Cersi brings out his worst.
Jay Owin
2023-05-24 22:17:39 +0000 UTCAh, I get that. Out of all the comments regarding the books I don't think I've heard about how Jamie is portrayed in the book. Good to know.

2023-05-24 20:22:08 +0000 UTCSo you were disgusted by him smelling his finger. Now presume he was alive a bit longer. They'd probably eat chicken or something with their hand. And I doubt they're the type that will wash their hands before eating. :)

2023-05-24 17:18:48 +0000 UTCI know it seems like Sansa is doing "too much" when she argues with Jon, I definitely see your point of view on that. One thing to remember, though, is that she doesn't know what we know about the Onion Knight. What she DOES know, is that every one of her family members that have lost their heads so far did so because they were too trusting. I see this as her pushing back on that Stark instinct of trust and honor to kind of balance Jon out a bit. Love your reactions!

2023-05-24 15:30:43 +0000 UTCThose of us that stand up for Jamie are doing so because of the books. Jamie is FAR more redeemable in the books, and is clearly becoming a better man throughout the series. In the show however, the writers only partially show this transformation, and add in a bunch of stuff that Jamie never said or did in the books (such as raping Cersei at Joffery's funeral). So, yes, from the perspective of someone who has only seen the show, I get it, Jamie doesn't seem redeemable. But those of us that know how Jamie's character is SUPPOSED to be, can still see the man from the books peeking through the garbage the show writers forced on the character. That's why we often defend him, but I get it from your perspective.
Steve Kozlowski
2023-05-24 15:09:34 +0000 UTCNope. Jamie is a piece of shit to his core, who, once in a great while doesn't act like the absolute worse person ever. Who told you he was a good guy? 😂

2023-05-24 14:17:28 +0000 UTCThe dog is great. Not a bad guy considering the time/world he lives in. Btw: so thankful you decided to do two episodes a week. Do the same with HBO's Rome ;)

2023-05-24 12:57:40 +0000 UTCWe've gotten well and truly past the bits of the series I'd already seen myself. I haven't really been paying much attention to the discourse between you and the viewership over Jaime Lanister. I mean I know he's done evil and is very flawed but the flaws and how they shape him is what makes him an 'interesting' character, to me at least. A character can be an awful person and still be an interesting character. Remember a 'Character' is not a 'Person', it's a 'Character'. That being said the way you've been laying it on in this installment just going full rag-out makes me want to defend him just out of pure spite. Just the smarmy, sarcastic... *ahem* Hard to tell with Jaime. I think there was a bit of truth in that confession, he realizes his only ally now is Cersei, and has always been Cersei. Even to his own Father who among all valued him the most, perhaps even more than Cersei did, but he only valued Jaime as a tool... as a means to an end. Jaime wants to be a good guy, he wants to be the fairy tale knight in shining armor, but he can't. Between serving the Targaryen King's madness and his father's ambition circumstances forbade him that, but he still yearned for it. As for his tirade. Could be he was just playing a bluff, leaning into his reputation and the preconceptions about himself to manipulate the guy, could be he's just finally accepted that no one will allow him out of this hole and he's just abandoning all pretext of wanting to be that shining knight he dreamed about. Most people tell themselves they're decent, Jaime doesn't, Jaime obviously hates himself. I think the weirdness you picked-up from him about Brienne is related to the honorably knightly ideal that Jaime does (or did) hold in such high esteem maybe he doesn't love Her, but he loves the Idea of her. What she represents, Think about Jaime's background. A young man who was forced into an ill-fitting mold for himself, and who shared a womb with a woman who possibly would've had a better time of it if allowed but would never be allowed... because Woman. And here's Brienne of Tarth. Born at cross-purposes to the role she needed to fill, like Jaime, and born a woman, like Cersei, and here she is being ten times the Knight that Jaime wishes he could be. I think more than anything he envies her, and that's why he shows her so much respect. Brienne responds to this respect because it's not something she's accustomed to receiving. She received it from Renly and immediately moved hell and high water to swear into his Kingsguard. She received it from Katlyn, and immediately swore her life and sword to Katlyn Stark's service. She received it from Jaime.... oh no. The tavern joke. The Lannister is accustomed to finery, an ale with a fly in it just won't do. The Martel is no silly prissy pantywaist getting all bent out of shape about flies, bring it on bro. The Stark isn't upset that the fly drank some of his ale, the Stark is upset that the fly Took something that didn't belong to them and that's against the rules. Arya Stark A girl remembers who she is. A girl understands, she is not nobody. A girl realizes, her path lies elsewhere. A girl will find what she seeks outside house of the many-faced god, not within.
