GOT S4E3-4 FULL REACTION

Comments

You keep saying "good" or "bad" for Jamie. He's grey, he isn't all good or all bad. It isn't a difficult concept to understand that some people can do good things and terrible things.

Nicholas Johnson

He really does go super far out of his way to give stipulations to every good deed that Jamie does.

Nicholas Johnson

I don't know this for certain, but I remember reading once that in medieval times, forts along a territory were built with two weeks of riding time between them, or a fortnight. Sounded reasonable to me

Jake Martin

I know you find it hard to believe there is any good in Jaimie but giving the sword and armor to Brienne had nothing to do with him having sex with Cersei. Rescuing her from the bear should have been proof to you that he has a modicum of honor in limited cases. lol. Oh and he didn't just save her from the bear. He also saved her from a gang rape. And he is actually protecting Sansa from Cersei by sending Brienne out to find her.

TigerMyth

The guy got Sansa out for 10k gold so it could easily be inferred that he might rat Little Finger out for more gold. Also, a poor person suddenly spending massive amounts of gold would hit the gossip train. He would be found at some point and he most definitely would turn on Little finger for gold or under torture.

TigerMyth

“so fuck Joffrey's corpse” that’s a great idea for one of those motivational posters 😌

Guy from the 80's

The sex between Jaime and Cersei was consensual, it was just poorly-portrayed on the show. It's a common complaint from fans, because in the book it was clearly consensual and also initiated by Cersei, I believe. The author has also publicly stated that it was supposed to be consensual and they basically fucked it up when they edited that scene on the show. And who cares if they disrespected Joffrey's corpse? Everyone hated him, including yourself, so fuck Joffrey's corpse. I don't think Jaime cared much for Joffrey. Nor should he.

Tron

In addition to capturing Jaime and Brienne and chopping off Jaime's hand, Locke was also the guy who ordered his men to gang-rape Brienne and he's also the guy who put her in the bear pit. He reports to Lord Bolton. Remember in episode 4x1 Lord Bolton ordered Locke to go to the wall and hunt down the Stark boys so he could eliminate them. He's not a good guy! LOL

Tron

They did it for the shock value I guess.

Guy from the 80's

Lastly, you also don't seem to remember "Locke". He was the guy that captured Jamie and took his hand...

Steve Kozlowski

Oh, and for fellow readers of the books, we all know that the duel in Meereen was actually fought by Strong Belwas, who didn't make it into the show, sadly. Great character. #justiceforstrongbelwas

Steve Kozlowski

The scene at joffrey's funeral just enrages me as a reader of the books. That is NOT how it happened. Yes, they had sex at the funeral, which is disgusting, but he didn't rape her. Why the show writers changed the scene into rape, IN THE MIDDLE OF JAMIE'S REDEMPTION ARC, is baffling and infuriating. Such a stupid choice, but hardly the last bad decision the show runners make when deviating from the books, unfortunately.

Steve Kozlowski

Wow, early win! Excited for this

Stephen ODaniel

Pretty sure that was jamies lowest point when he forced himself on cercinear their sons death bed. When cerci asked him to get and kill sansa he went looking for any honor he had left. He had none. So he sent the only person with honor he knew.

Jay Owin

Jamie: You're a hateful woman 🤬 The world: yes, you tell her Jamie 😁 Jamie: *rapes Cersei next to the corpse of their dead inbred son* The world: bro 😲 Classical Game of Thrones moment.

Guy from the 80's

Jaime isn't nefarious or making a deal. He honors his oaths. It's literally his ONLY redeeming quality. No, it isn't enough to make up for the bad. Just explaining that he values his oaths and thus values Brienne as another who keeps oaths regardless of the situation. Brienne understands this, and in his honor names her blade oathkeeper, as well as a sign of her promise to return Sansa.

Mister_Bleak

Finally at the end. Cersai's antipathy towards tyrion has nothing to do with her desire/lack of desire to bone her own siblings. Their mother died giving birth to Tyrion, and Cersai is just that petty that she still takes that personally. You may have noticed, that new guy Jon Snow was talking to... Locke... he's not a game warden, he was one of Bolton's men, the man who took Jaime's hand. The White Walkers make the Wights(i.e. the Zombies), now you've seen what makes the White Walkers. Think of them as a sort of evil fae/fey/fairy-folk type creature.

Molly McAllister

I mean if you ran into me I could've told you a fortnight is 2 weeks but I'm into the whole medieval scene lol.

Christopher Wichman

If you go back to the wedding you can see Olena adjust Sansas necklace as she talks about how terrible it was for her brother to b killed at a wedding, and then in episode 4 littlefinger asks Sansa if she noticed that a stone was missing from it. I'm pretty sure Olena took the stone that had the poison in it and put it in Jeffrey's cup when nobody was looking. Also I believe that lady Marjory is around 19 and tommen is around 14 or 15. And the saying is everytime a targaryen is born the gods flip a coin, because they would interbreed from siblings to cousins or aunt's and uncles that they would often come out with mental issues

Convulsion Gaming

Episode 4 here is a big one. You noticed most of the stuff but some miss a lot more. You got Goffery's death right for the most part. There is one detail you missed but I'll wait on that. The other thing is remember the guy that Lord Bolton sent to find Bran and Rickon Stark. Hes the same dude who cut off Jamie's hand. Pay attention to where he is now. Reek told him where Bran was likely headed. Tbis season us insane. Episode 2 where Gofdery died was a mega episode. I would consider half the episodes in this season mega episodes and the rest are really good as well. The one you just watched (Episode 4) is probably the slowest of the season.

Drewcliff82

That's how I view it with Tywin. He wanted them dead but wasn't specific as to how. The Mountain being the sick individual he is decided to do it that way.

Drewcliff82

While I don't believe Tywin specifically, Explicitly instructed The Mountain to rape Obryn's sister and split her open with his 'greatsword' per se. I do believe Tywin did ask the Mountain to see to the deletion of her and her offspring as they would represent complications to securing the new Baratheon regime and his family's place within it. Also, just a reminder. 'Snow' is a genericized surname given to all non-legitimized children in the Northern Kingdom (where the Starks and Boltons live) and 'Sand' is the genericized surname given to all illegitimate children in Dorne where House Martell rules (I'm certain each of the other seven kingdoms have their own particular versions of this custom but I'm not privy to it currently).

Molly McAllister

Of course Jamie likes Brienne. Hes seen her fight, He knows shes honorable, and he has seen her naked and knows shes all woman. Only a villain or a fool wouldn't like her knowing what Jamie knows.

Ashley

It actually makes way more sense that way.

Ashley

The 'Good' in Jaime, the actual Good, was taken away when he got saddled with the title 'Kingslayer'. I could be wrong, but I think you might be looking at this the wrong way. Jaime in his current form is of course Not a good person, but he is a good 'character', if that makes any sense. He's complex, layered, Interesting. I think what people are getting frustrated with is this black/white binary you seem to be putting on Jaime (and other characters) that reads to others as, "That's it, I've made up my mind about this character and am now forever more incurious about them and their past and/or future" Which for the rest of us is kinda missing out on one of the great things about this series, the characters (even the ones that are bad people) and all the different facets about them that get revealed over the course of the story.

Molly McAllister

Yes it really did lol.

Drewcliff82

I don't know exactly what Tywin had to do with exactly what happened to Ellia Martell and the Targaryan children but I know what he did to house Reyne. He had them all butchered men, women and children and put their bodies on display so know he is capable of anything. Seeing Tyrion say goodbye to Podrick and not allowing him to go down with him gets me every time. This episode is when the new actor for Daario Naharis won me over. Amazing scene and I can't picture the old actor doing thus lol. On to the next.

Drewcliff82

Waiting a week between episodes sucks but there were multi year gaps between some of the GOT seasons. That ish sucked.

Ashley

God dannit lol. Here we are trying to show you the better side of Jamie and they may this on us lol. I know it sounds crazy but even the show creators apologized for that scene. It makes no sense amd especially for Jamie's character. In the book it's the opposite and it's Cersie that forces that in that scene and makes much more sense. I ways tell people it's a mistake so just act like it never happened lol.

Drewcliff82

Dam you watched it quick lol.

Drewcliff82

Another amazing review as always, along with all your other channels. Littlefingers character has become something to look out for, be sure to catch his suttle conversations. Joffery was a spoiled privileged little boy, on the other hand Ramsey 's torture of Theon is on a whole other level.
