EARLY ACCESS GAME OF THRONES S3E5-6

Comments

Stannis was away at war. He couldn't take his daughter with him

Annashaki

if it is like medeval times then i guess they would be heating the pool using burning coal underneath the water

Silmoheru Rosaslie

I will watch it all. How else could I have an opinion on the last seasons?

Lenear Boyd

I don't trust Littlefinger, I think that sentence resumes his personality pretty well. I still don't trust him lol

Lenear Boyd

the suggestion... suggestion... was to wait until after the scene is over before pausing. The suggestion was not to not pause, but simply to wait until the scene is done because of the flow and because questions that arise while watch are often times immediately answered in the same scene. Therefore, when pausing and offering commentary, mrlboyd would be operation on complete information. Again, just a suggestion. And again, I will still watch.

As a reader of the books, it’s great to see, because you are picking up on small things that are important that most people overlook in show format. Like some of the big picture people dynamics. You are also noticing things I let slide because I was enamored with the books like how superficial tyrions injury was and how that didn’t align well with the plot. I’m here for all the fun mental exercises. I’m down for watching you noticing all the details even if half of them mean nothing down the road. The other half are definitely super on track! It’s the best part of the reactions.

Mary

Ok so Walder Frey wants Harrenhall and Lord Edmure to marry one of his daughters. As far as them getting down the wall there are plenty of spots with steps to walk down the other side. I loved the little battle between Varys and Little Finger this season. It seemed Varys had the upper hand with Ros as a spy but Little Finger came out on top in the end. The "Chaos is a ladder" speech is one of my favorite parts of this season. So epic. If there was ever any time to get extra episodes in next week would be the time so you can sneak in episodes 9 and 10 lol.

Andrew Clifton

Now that John and Ygrette are on top of the wall, they can walk across it until they get to next castle, then walk down to the other side. Also not sure if you are aware, the actors that played Snow and Ygrette fell in love and are now married in real life.

matt Henning

I remember watching this when it premiered. The moment Beric stood back up after the TBC, I was shook cause I thought it would mean death didn't matter for the rest of the series. Then I thought "Dragons, worgs, blood magic, shadow assassins born of adultery- I guess a little paladin style laying-on-hands isn't too far out for this show".

Jake Martin

That "Chaos is a Ladder" speech broke the internet that particular Sunday night. So iconic. Peak TV time. So cool to re-live these moments

Scott Brown

So happy to see this up....thank you

Elizabeth DeMerie

I thoroughly enjoyed the very serious discussion regarding the phallus necklace.

Jason Hammock

dont listen to that dude. there is a reason we all come here

George Southard

Yeah, you’re right. I’m at the wrong part of the story.

CJ Mars

I can't wait to see you get in on House of the Dragon after this.

Molly McAllister

At this point in the story Bolton is holding the fort at Harrenhal for Robb while Robb is off to a funeral to win the war while losing the politics.

Molly McAllister

And that is very noble of you. Just was pointing out this is plot-relevant. Glad you've clued-in about how Stannis isn't actually all that great. :)

Molly McAllister

Nah let the man be great reactions all around

Pinacleofdeath

I don't know when scenes are concluded and I have this weird brain that will forget what I meant to say or I would mix thoughts. I'll try my best to improve, I like constructive criticism.

Lenear Boyd

If I could make one suggestion it would be to wait until a scene is concluded before pausing to discuss. Often times when you pause it breaks the flow of the acting, music, timing of the scene. Feel free to disregard, I will still watch.

Jack S

I like Robb except for the little thing about marrying that girl but overall he has my sympathies.

Lenear Boyd

I was not put in this earth to comment on physically or mentally different people. With adults it's fine if treated with respect but I'm not going to say anything about the different appearance of a child, fictional or not.

Lenear Boyd

My autistic mind is hard to understand, I pay a lot of attention to details.

Lenear Boyd

I am going to do the entire show, don't worry

Lenear Boyd

Indeed. Definitely don't stop after season 6. I don't think there are many people who didn't like season 7. I think they meant stop after s7, because s8 is a bit controversial. But having rewatched the whole series a few times now I've made my peace with s8 as well. And I didn't hate s8 after the first watch, but yeah... you'll see what all the hassle is about. And of course after s8 you also have a prequel series to continue with House of the Dragon. Definitely worthwhile!

Dasypodidae

I am glad to hear that you are going to watch the entire show. The last 2 seasons timeline felt rushed, but I still enjoyed them.

Billybob350

It’s just a Roman bath.

Guy from the 80's

I don't know why people wouldn't want 7&8. I want to see his reaction to them.

TigerMyth

Anyone else having a hard time with MRLBOYD saying random off hand comments that predict major points later lol 😂 at this point I might need to start taking notes to comment on future videos. Honestly, to those people that say don’t do season 7 & 8, they don’t have the insight you have. The quality of the seasons gets worse when they run out of book material, but I don’t think you will have any huge problems with how it wraps up. Your analysis isn’t as emotionally charged as other peoples lol

Mary

Just to provide you a bit of context regarding the red woman. You have heard her state and will state again, that there is power in kings blood. The magic used in the show is blood magic, and all blood is not equal. The Targaryens have Valyrian blood, which is sought after for blood magic. The Baratheons have a Targaryen ancestor in their line, and because of this, they have Valyrian blood in their veins. Which was important for Roberts “Claim” during his rebellion. Gentry has Baratheon blood as he is Robert’s baseborn son.

Matthew Truesdell

I thought Roose Bolton was in Winterfell. Well, it’s been a while since I’ve seen the show and read the books. I’m bound to miss-remember I guess

CJ Mars

there not in winterfell tho that harrenhal so no hot spring.

monkeyman

You should see if your father in law can spare a little deer. Deer and rabbit are not gamy. Quite tasty in fact. But I’m sure that boar was a little gamy depending on the cook and age of the boar.

John Dodo

Finished the whole bit... Kinda surprised you didn't mention or seem to take notice of Stannis's daughter's face. In this setting (and in medieval Europe which was a large part of the inspiration) physical deformities were a Big Deal. That's why Stannis kinda left her by the wayside. As for what's behind his wife in that scene, do I have to spell it out? She's obviously had stillborn sons and... 'preserved'... them. Melisandra's intentions for the boy will be made good in time, Very little time if I remember correctly. And yeah, Season 6... I don't know how you're going to react to what comes after that, don't know how binging this bi-weekly affects how invested you're gonna be... but... The show-runners had a thing where they kinda jumped up their own asses, getting bent outta shape that the fans were reading into the foreshadowing so well they basically already guessed all the best possible endings and the ego of the showrunners was such they couldn't abide that so they went with what is largely considered... a less-optimal ending. (Note on writing: If your audience is excited for your story and they've jumped ahead of you, This Is A GOOD Thing. It means they've been paying attention.)

Molly McAllister

Gendry didn't mean the "my lady" comment as in he "liked" her, he meant it as in they couldn't be family like Arya said, because she was a noble and would eventually go back to being a "lady" and him just a common smith

Steve Kozlowski

Appendix: in the books, Winterfell is built on top of hot springs. The waters are then piped inside the walls throughout the keep essentially turning the whole of Winterfell into a radiant heat source. The baths are heated water from those hits springs

CJ Mars

May as well say this now, early enough in the series: the one complaint I have about GoT the passage of time. When Stannis is speaking to his daughter, in the books the war had been raging for close to a year (I think, I don’t quite remember). Anyways, the world this show takes place in is huge. The screen writers took a lot of liberties with the passage of time and just expect the audience to not question.

CJ Mars

Jaime... basically the entire time since Baratheon's ascension to the time we see him here, he's been living Down to the expectations everyone has had since he earned the title 'Kingslayer'. 1) Oaths are SERIOUS BUSINESS in this universe, making the choice between doing something obviously evil in service to an oath and breaking that oath is a lot trickier of a proposition in this context. 2) Everybody just assumed, because of Lord Tywin's earlier betrayal, that Jaime was just doing it on his father's orders and nothing like what he'd described. Jaime just wanted to be THE archtypical 'Knight in Shining Armor', that came crashing down with the label of 'Kingslayer' landing across his back. And with his father being too practical-minded to have any sympathy is it any wonder he fell into the habits of, "Well then let me be Evil." since then?

Molly McAllister

Something I'd like to point-out. The first beheading we see, Ned Stark with the deserter. One clean stroke. The second? Theon with the old Winterfell knight whose name escapes me, took two or three hits. This, the third? Robb does it in one clean stroke, just like his father, and without that bloody huge Greatsword his father had.

Molly McAllister

Pretty-much this. There was a reason why 'My Lady' was in quotation marks in the captions.

Molly McAllister

"She fell, like, instantly in love with him.." Well, he did do that thing... with his mouth.

Molly McAllister

Love the debate between Tywin and Cersei about marrying sir Loras. She went from I WONT I AM THE QUEEN 🤬 to PLEASE FATHER DONT 😰😥 in like 2 seconds lol. To quote a YouTube comment: Everyone in Tywin’s presence crumbles under his aura of absolute authority. Charles Dance was incredible in this role. And you are indeed correct sir, you need to increase the frequency of the GoT reactions in order to keep up with the plot 😁

Guy from the 80's

Never stop comparing things to Stargate.

Ashley

i think you read it wrong as him liking her when he said she would be his lady cuz she highborn and he a bastard lowborn they could never be equal

monkeyman

and maybe the subtitle person isn't perfect lol give them a break
