I rather enjoyed the filming of the initial scene at the cornucopia. It is meant to elicit the feeling of chaos that the characters must be feeling in that moment. It got you to feel confusion, another emotion they are likely experiencing due to the chaos of the situation. Def a style that not everyone will enjoy though.

2025-01-01 18:14:00 +0000 UTCSomething I didn't notice before. He wasn't wasting the bread by giving it to the pigs. The loaf he threw out to her was half burnt. I'm sure people would eat burnt bread because they're starving, but typically when you burn something it's thrown out, hence feeding it to the pigs. Never caught that before, and I've read the books. Wonder if it was burnt in the books or if I've just forgotten (it has been years since I read the books and watched the movie so I guess it's understandable).

2023-02-11 14:43:20 +0000 UTCThe books give a lot of information that you don't get in the movie, about the Mutts, the bread, and the capitals cruelty. Example: After Karmiss' dad died in a mining accident, her family was starving. She was outside hungry in the rain and Petta, whose parents own a bakery, burned bread on purpose so he could give it to Karmiss. The 2nd movie/book, Catching Fire, is my favorite. I think you'll really like (or should I say hate) the government as the movies get deeper into that side of things. The love story gets a little irritating at times but you'll understand it in the end. You'll also get more information about the districts as the movies progress. It's a really popular series. You should definitely finish the series!

The entire environment is able to be manipulated. Itβs been a long time since I read those books but they do to get the details of the game manipulation in it.

And God forbid the actors have to memorize more than one line of dialogue. Quick cuts every other scene and I swear the cameraman was on a rollercoaster while filming this movie lol
