Ok gonna Nerd out now... 10:20 The chopper that comes into frame is a callback to the original DOTD. Same markings as the one they used to run in the original.(WGON TV) 16:55 The diner is named Wooley's Diner after the crazed racist SWAT character. (They use the dry-erase board later w/Andy. ) 26:37 That's Tom Savini as the Sheriff. (He did the FX & some stunts , and had a role in the original and FX for Day Of The Dead. Also , directed the 1990 re-make of Night Of The Living Dead) 27:55 That's Scott H. Reiniger as the military guy on TV. He played Roger in the original. 33:53 The TV preacher is Ken Foree who played Peter in the original. He also quotes his famous line " When there' s no more room in hell , the dead will walk the earth." which was also the tag line for the film upon release. 41:52 & 56:40 The lingerie store is named Gaylen Ross after the lead actress of the same name in the original film. And that's some fun filled facts about this re-make. I also recomend the novelization by George A Romero and Susanna Sparrow. Loads of extra stuff. and the Ultimate Cut on you tube. (The most complete version of the original film out there.)

2023-02-05 09:42:23 +0000 UTCI'm not huge on alot of zombie flicks but this one is good. I also recommend Night of the living dead and return of the living dead.

2023-02-05 09:42:05 +0000 UTCThe speed of the infection is not that unrealistic. Just like in real life, infections and viruses affect people differently. Just look at COVID and the varied symptoms and length of sickness. Also, there were after credit scenes you missed on this. Spoiler alert: they don't survive.

2023-02-04 23:09:41 +0000 UTCi really enjoyed this review. one of my favorite zombie films. only a couple of things to help clear ya up, that can be missed on a first time through. the turn time is about the same for everyone. they need to die. once dead they turn within a minute it seems. But only once dead. if bitten, the infection eventually kills them. Then thy turn within a minute. i think the water thing was just that there was the cops blood in the water. The security guard started to change when reading magazines about building trust while locked up. Finally, if you get an opportunity, there are many additional scenes that happen during the end credits that show the rest of their story. my apologies for not mentioning that when suggesting the film. please view, just for yourself, when you have the time. thanks again :) p.s. i actually prefer you stop the films whenever you feel like. i'd rather hear your input and thoughts than simply watch with you.

2023-02-04 18:14:48 +0000 UTCThe reason why I prefer the older movies, is because the new ones are essentially just generic monster movies with shrieking monsters running at you. In the older movies, zombies were something unique, and much more menacing (Day of the dead 1985 being the best example) despite being slow moving. Zombie movies used to be a niche genre, and as it went mainstream the nature of zombies were altered to meet box office expectations.

2023-02-04 10:16:21 +0000 UTCyou need to watch the after credits scene my man... its everything

2023-02-04 06:44:45 +0000 UTCThe lounge singer (Down With the Sickness) is Richard Cheese, he has 20-something albums of covers of all kinds of stuff with his band "Lounge Against the Machine": Gin & Juice: https://youtu.be/f3ivDxonkAU?t=40 Baby Got Back: https://youtu.be/ukFhmf9Hg-U Shake Ya Ass: https://youtu.be/PP_qCfTD4ek Enter Sandman: https://youtu.be/fosMKBFNY6o WAP: https://youtu.be/ZVObgnI8xHM

2023-02-04 06:13:45 +0000 UTCHubby turned fast at the beginning, because he bled out... Died and reanimated. The big sick lady in the wheelbarrow(actually played by a dude) just hgot bit. No big, but the bite itself is killing her because of the virus, bacteria, fungi, whatever. And when it kills her...
Mike MIchelsen
2023-02-03 21:43:10 +0000 UTCalso, the turning I believe is uh, "everyone is infected" and when they die they turn.. the guy at the start got his one of the arteries in his neck bit so he died quite fast.. it also explains why everything went to shit so fast

2023-02-03 20:06:55 +0000 UTCRomero and Tom Savini was a great team!
Guy from the 80's
2023-02-03 19:56:16 +0000 UTCGeorge Romer was the godfather of zombie movies.. they remade day of the dead as well, but not by the same producer/ director team.. pretty sure it was direct to DVD. I have it laying around somewhere
Shawn Leaf
2023-02-03 19:08:39 +0000 UTCOh and you caught the name on the beginning, George Romero... he's the Godfather of zombie movies. He made the originals.. Night of the Living Dead, followed by dawn of the dead, day of the dead, then dish of the dead. All great watches.
Shawn Leaf
2023-02-03 19:07:19 +0000 UTCAhh you missed the end credits... they continue the story on the boat through the credits... Also what I think sets this movie apart is that's its not a zombie movie. It's a people movie set during a zombie apocalypse. Each person has their story, and you feel for them, especially the father. It was just as much about surviving each other as the zombies. The father that turned zombie, you said you recognized him... he was the father of the neighbors kids in the original honey I shrink the kids.. Also, in huge disturbed fan and when this movie came out I flipped over that lounge style cover of Down With the Sickness.. can't remember the artist name, but he has a while albums of metal like covers. Is called Lounge Against The Machine.
