Dont u see Boyd. Hannibal gave free theraphy lesson to Clarice. IF she can save poor Catharine, lambs stops screaming. Mind control, so to say. Hannibal gave her determination to stop those screams just saying if u save this woman, lambs stops screaming. Hence: Silence of the lambs. Hannibal didnt care about victims or WHO DID IT. Hannibal only cared about Clarice and her psyche. And ofc hes own freedom and personal advantage.

Ok, criminally hes insane, but again where you drew a line taking pleasure what he really wants to do. Had she of just placed it against the door would have been more believable to act as a sort of alert when dealing with multiple access points. Could have been a smart move but shovel placement made it illogical.

Lots were people hurt really bad and even killed using them because they weren’t very stable. Lol my old 1976 Chrysler Cordoba came from the factory with one. Thinking about it these days? Yeahhhhh not the brightest idea having millions of people picking up 4000+ pounds to change tires on uneven highway shoulders and driveways

She'd sing tragic opera movements while doing very basic manual labor, inviting the other staff to do it for her while she blossomed or whatever. She's the closest thing to IRL Hannibal in the movie.
