The whole story

I wanted to tell you how we got here from earlier this year when I was literally making ads for TikTok shop.

I really wanted to do well on TikTok, as I gained followers I was feeling more and more professional and put together. I was posting fit checks every day, ads, and the occasional viral video.

My birthday is Oct 11th, 4 days before that I was seeing content about Palestine for the first time. I cared but I didn't get involved until other creators showed me how to get involved. As months went on I learned more about our country and other countries than I have in my entire life (and there's still so much to learn!) I became a full blown full time activist.

I joined a group called the community collective and which was a group of creators on TikTok raising funds for Palestinians fundraisers, together we raised thousands of dollars (all through go fund me, none was given to us)

During this time I was going viral on Instagram and was receiving the harshest cruelty I've ever experienced online. I felt overwhelmed by the hate, I was starting to believe the things people were saying. I decided to give up my TikTok and Instagram to the community collective, I thought maybe we could do an operation olive branch type thing post all in one place, but shortly after the group disbanded to work individually.

After that I still did not want to come back to social media out of fear. I spent a month trying to collect videos for others so I could post them on my accounts and hopefully help their cause. I was planning on doing that for as long as possible, but TikTok had other plans. Donations stopped coming in completely and my videos were stuck at 200-500 views. No one was submitting videos anymore. My Account was at risk of being banned.

I decided since I wasn't gaining donations making videos for people, then I could shift my efforts to gathering donations other ways. At first I started going to local meetings for fundraising, local vigils for Palestine, making stickers to go around my neighborhood. Now my plan is to get people to buy my art both locally and online and donate 50% to orgs for Sudan and the congo, and individual Palestinians/families.

I'm not the same person I was last September, I don't care about my follower count, or how many views I get. I just want to help people so badly, I want these worldly atrocities to end. I want humans to care about each other and help each other. I want the world to be safer. I know I can't change the world alone but if I can help even a little bit, I think it's more than worth my energy.
