iOS Patreon App Fees
Added 2025-03-10 17:39:50 +0000 UTCI have gotten a few new patrons the past few weeks who seem to have signed up through the Apple Store Patreon App. I just want to remind everyone, but especially new sign ups that the Patreon App is charging you a few dollars extra on my tier prices, all of which goes to Apple because they're Apple Store fees. You can avoid these fees by signing up through the Patreon webpage on any mobile browser, after which you can use the App normally.
I already have some warnings about this on my tier descriptions, but I still see people signing up through the iOS app, so I thought I would issue a warning again, as I don't think it's fair that you guys are charged extra dollars for a tier that normally costs less. For those extra dollars you're being charged in fees, you could very well be in the next tier which gets you extra rewards.
If you signed up through the iOS app and plan on sticking around for a bit, I would recommend you cancel your sub, and sign up again through a browser so you can avoid these fees going forward!
