Back from Galápagos P.3
Added 2018-05-27 02:33:10 +0000 UTCTortoises are the big boys of Galápagos, so I got lots of photos of them too. You're not allowed to touch or get too close to any animals in the islands so it's hard to tell how big these tortoises are in the photos. You could easily sit two adult humans on top of the biggest ones.
This big boy below has guayaba bits over his face. The park guide told us they really love guayabas when they ripen and fall to the ground. It's like a wonderful treat to them, which is no wonder, because they're super delicious and smell amazing too.
This is a guayaba.
This tiny tortoise was around 3-4 years old.
VS. the mature ones that were well over 50.
The park guide told us that the one we saw eating the guayaba must be over 100 years old since the rings on his shell have pretty much disappeared.
